Yeah my Aki captain is in her. SE, IFHE and CE for now. Pretty decent DPM even as a Diet Aki. I don't buy the idea she doesn't need IFHE as there simply isn't time to play around with shell types in a knife fight. The USN hull feels a bit silly. Maybe good as a regular DD captain trainer but 3 guns aren't enough when pretty much all the rival DDs can melt you with superior firepower.

With the ARP captains released into the Japanese Navy I really have too many IJN captains now. Plus that Dragon one and the Harekaze one I've just got. No idea where I'd put Admiral Yamo now... My Atago captain is at 18 and I'm not going down to 15 points for the sake of lol First Blood buffs.

Probably not as well as Benson or Fletcher but those two are Gods amongst regular ships... Harekaze has better concealment and torp reload so I imagine her role is more of a flanker spotter than the fleet support of the USN. Haven't played that much yet but the 100%+ Free XP camo certainly helps.

Harekaze feels pretty decent from the few games I've played in her. I'm using the 100m hull currently. The middle package has an alternative IJN camo so you can un anime yourself too. Be warned, the 200% bonuses for wins you get run out in literally days!!

Moskva needs a bit of getting used to with its awful concealment and it's huge size. Despite popular talk it isn't a BattleCruiser by any means but can tank vs 1 BB at medium range if you angle right. Multiple BBs will squish you hard... The AP can be stunning vs superstructure (10k a salvo vs BB is possible) or broadside stuff but even a heavily angled Mino will resist you and stop superstar citadel strikes. It's the BB heavy camper meta that suits Moskva, even more so than Khaba as you can just join them and sam at 19km instead of risking your neck pushing when no one else comes with you. I find T10 a chore to play because of the maps and meta but Moskva makes it tolerable.

Khaba has been nerfed fairly significantly too. Imagine if OP came across it when it had it's rudder, range and 10km torps? Half the problem however is that Gearing is trash tier T10, or atleast it's been power crept out the game somewhat...

Same reason at why DW torps are utter fail, except this is just a bad community suggestion and DW torps are actually coming. Both punish brave BBs and I already get torped enough in BBs as I like to get close...

Higher tier RN BBs will have armoured decks although lots of the higher tier stuff in game is pretty tough... GZ has some pretty crazy secondaries and armour. It nuked my half HP DD and would have killed the Cruiser behind me too if a BB intervene!

It's too late to complain about it, not that it matters as WG do whatever they want. RN BBs are touted as being stealthy so it looks like stealth BB are here to stay. It was bad enough with Tirpitz 12.3km and NC's 11.9km...

Are you sure it's not just a leftover from the Dunkirk campaign? As there's a point at the end where the RAF come to bail you out then they get their asses kicked by the Luftwaffe unless you lend AA. I've got no idea what RAF fighter WG used in it.

Well I was in a Sims last night and a GZ literally nuked me with her secondaries. 7k hp to zero with barely any time to react. He would have killed the Shchors behind me too if the BB didn't AP him. Brutal...

Slightly off topic but is Harekaze worth a punt? I might get the middle package and get Hood with the doubloons so it'll work out ok. I'll likely use Aki captain for Hull B (100mm guns) and a normal DD captain for Hull C (USN 127 mm rip off), whatever the different hulls are called...

That's why you bait the belt instead of having the nose shot out. Even if he's low HP, he is much better off island hugging and giving whatever comes round the corner some 16" AP...

That's no excuse, Mutsu is still a BB that can take a lot of pain when angled. Easily more than those 4 Cruisers that are far closer to the enemy. Border hugging when bottom tier in a BB isn't ok... But yeah that Tirp probably tried to evade torps and beached himself.

The TLDR is you actually listen to what the WG staff have to say? I've read enough Q&As, played through changes that no one asked for, laughed at their attempts to dampen community rage with petrol, change the goalposts constantly etc to not listen to a word they say. Sorry if that's a little harsh but it's not like the WG RU Overlords care what it's EU staff report back and said staff are forced to tow the company line even if it's constantly going back on what was said previously. Take anything WG say with a big pinch of salt. My favourite comment was that Ship modeller who said some obscure Russian port bombardment BB had the greatest history of any BB ever

RN BBs also solved the Overpen "problem" too!! I imagine RU BBs will all get Def AA or something too...

RNG is a part of WGs product, they've even stated this in WoT Q&As etc Consistent AP damage would actually be more powerful than the odd Devastating Strike, would you rather have AP that will kill a cruiser in 2 or 3 salvos or have scatter guns that might kill in one or half a dozen salvos?

I think the problem you have is at secondary range at T10, a lot of things can torp wall you to hell. A torp will kill you instantly where as secondaries will take a bit of time. Plus HIV will get revealed way before a DD will so chances are by the time you start opening up with secondaries you're already about to get torped...

Well that's the issue, AP is meant to be a Cruiser killer...
