Unfortunately "leveling the playing field" regarding assets is as likely as straight up banning every 3X%wr player to coop, since that is simply their business model: create disadvantages that can be overcome by spending money. That's how a "free to play" can exist without ludicrous amounts of ingame commercials.

It is. But how is the playing field not even right now? The assets you spoke about (captains, upgrades, flags, etc.) are available to everyone yet not every player chooses to make optimal use of them. How is the matchmaker supposed to account for all those DDs without Survivability Expert and without detonation flag..... I think the difference in "assets" is the least of matchmakings problems. If you play a tier NINE ship stock, without camo, flags and a zero point captain you need to get back to either tier 1 or coop and relearn the basics. That's just mismanagement of your resources or willfully handicapping yourself and your teammates. There is zero reason for any player to not use every asset available to maximize his combat efficiency.

Why? It's just a stranger on the internet venting his own frustrations on your pixel boat. They don't know you. So every insult will be either speculative or generic. Think about it like this: each time someone on the internet rages at you, it shows their weakness. Perhaps they had a bad day, perhaps they're a aggressive person, perhaps they just seek someone to verbally fight with. Whatever you do, do not take anything personal. If I had to go through the effort of reporting each player that called me names I wouldn't have been able to reach 10.000 games in Wows. I just forget and move on. The game is a lot of fun, don't let a few bad apples ruin that for you. Because if you let that happen, "they" have won.

So sea of thieves is a similar game to wows? It's got ships, sea and islands....

I think the entire wows playerbase will agree with you in that regard, no matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned veteran. Nobody likes the current amount of blowouts. If only wargaming had the interest in actually dealing with this issue. :(

Ofcourse I understand, but it's still ironic. My tip: stop using MMM since it only feeds your suspicions about matches being rigged one way or another. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. Better to not know the odds and try your best, than not try at all because it seems hopeless. You will see that not knowing your odds increases the fun you can have in the game.

....for you. If you do not deem the reward valuable enough to spend the time and effort to reach the requirements: Don't. Ofcourse, there is a part of the playerbase that plays solely for this purpose. But I do not envy them, since in the end you participate in a neverending ratrace. There will always be more objectives and (useless) rewards. It's kinda sad when you think about it.

Uhm, sorry to break your bubble but the border interaction is just as much a game mechanic as the healing mechanics of ship. If it's your opinion or not.

If it's worth it is up to you. But if you can spare the money and you want to speed up the grind, sure go ahead. You can also get them for free ingame by playing through missions, events and special gamemodes such as ranked although that obviously takes time and effort.
