Welcome to Wargamings' modus operandi. Too much circulation makes the price go down: The more a commodity is seen and heard from, the more common it appears. if it is already an established commodity within a group, temporary withdrawal from it will make it more talked about, even more desired. Create value through scarcity.

"This playerbase is so toxic!" - Every player that has way too little experience to be able to carry his own weight at high tiers and because of that plays ultra-super-bad. -
Those 15 enemy teams must have been like:

When played right, an enemy DD should never be able to spot you on its own (disregarding CV/radar spotting). To do this you need to train your ability to predict where enemy DDs will pop up and prevent getting surprised. Usually I do this by avoiding blind spots. What are blind spots? Areas where you team has no vision through either direct line of sight or spotting such as radar/hydro/rpf. Maybe this helps.. Glorious paintskills. In this situation I cannot see what is behind the corner. Yet I am moving fairly around the island, risking getting surprised by whatever is around the corner. Once I clear the island the enemy is already in my detection range and he will spot me -> Dead asashio. To prevent this you take a wider path around the island. Due to my low detection range, I can spot whatever is around the island but they will not immediately detect me. Also note the angle at which I am clearing the island: Basically already in a kiting position, so if there is a ship with radar I do not need to turn and present my full broadside anymore.

Maybe it could but wouldnt it be unfair for your teammates who get put up with your T6 divisionmates in their T9 game? You'd negatively influence their chances of winning by bringing such a division. That wouldnt be fun for you, your teammates and the enemy team. But be glad there is a simple trick to circumvent this nasty side effect of uneven matchmaking: pick. same. tier. ships. -

Fair enough, but how is that the fault of the matchmaker? -

How difficult is it to pick ships of the same tier? You know how hard it is for the Matchmaker to make even matches, why make it more difficult by picking different tiers in the same division? -

Nice division anchoring. let the tier 7 pick a tier 6 ship and you'll have a game within 2 minutes. -

And that is what makes bad players keep coming back: that one game in X amount of games where they can be the hero TVIII slaughtering all the TVI's and feel really good about themselves. Then they get frustrated by being uptiered against TX again and again so they buy ARP Yamato to be the hero in every game. Smart business model if you ask me.

Asashio is a really bad ship against a team with any functioning braincells, but when you get those enemies who straightline and leave the middle open..... oh boy. I usually go central in the map to be able to shoot torps to both flanks (if the map allows obviously) and to go where the most enemy bbs are. This one for example, three minutes in and 90k damage. Skill? Or just a completely potato enemy team? I'd say the latter mostly.

Just dodge. Just adapt. Just group up. Honestly why would anyone voluntarily play a TX BB.

Hence my earlier question if people have watched the WMI tournament this weekend? The format of that tournament did a great job in preventing static lineups, simply because it prevented teams to pick multiple of the same ships by using a points system. (fe. Stalingrad = 10 points and a zao = 3 points). So now you saw the best players using suboptimal ships, such as Khabarovsk. Honestly, super fun to watch. -

Because the "issue" (as far as you can call it an issue) is simple. You do not like that kind of gameplay, which is fine. But apparently others do. Don't know if you have watched the Warships Masters Invitational tournament this weekend? But that was everything but boring. Lots of really exciting and close games. -

Then why are you watching? But seriously, wows is more like a game of chess. If you aren't aware of all the intricacies that are happening then I can understand you perceive the gameplay as boring. Its a battle of vision and map control before players make their plays. The "action" often happens in the final moments of the game, when teams are forced to make moves. If you want fast paced action, I'd suggest watching fortnite.- 53 replies
