    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Being in a healthy partnership where both parties enjoy mutual benefits to.... Ah why am I even bothering. Nothing. It means absolutely nothing. "cvs good, statshaming bad, can I be cc now plisssssss?"
  2. Yes it's possible but the odds of that are very small. Especially if you play tier 6 and below. Not to forget that amount of games played doesn't equal skill. Why are you afraid? Worst thing that can happen is them killing you. So what? You press "battle" and try again.
  3. Giving advice on how to improve with a coop replay is neigh impossible. Just go out and play some randoms. What is the worst that can happen?

Can you hide the "Made of steel" camo?

    Why tho?
  5. really nice victory although your team almost threw a certain victory away. I thought it was going to be a quick stomp but then they started dying one after the other... A bit messy maybe but my general thought here is: It is epicentre and the enemies are bunched up below the caps and getting flanked from your team. What are they most likely going to do? Most likely going to run away from you team and/or into the caps. So instead of joining your team in their pursuit, reposition yourself to take advantage from the enemies' herd behavior by going onto their other flank (as highlighted in the minimap above). This creates a crossfire with your team and it gives your team more vision and mapcontrol. More of the same actually, but it is clear that your team is keen on pushing them back. Because your forces outnumber the enemies, they will probably run. If you recognise this situation, reposition to catch their broadsides. Note also the time and score: The enemies HAVE to try to cap or kill or they will lose in a minute or so. When the enemies are forced to act, you can anticipate and abuse. I saw you shoot lots of AP salvo's at angled belts (yellow rectangle in image above) while if you aimed slightly behind their belt (yellow arrow), you would've cittadelled them. Above image: You aim at red reticle, while if you aim at green reticle your AP shells hit right behind his belt. Besides, look at the color of his aft section. Its not blackened. That means that part of his ship is not yet damage-saturated. If you shoot his aft you will guaranteed penetrate and you can easily score 10k dmg. At this range Riga will defenitely have the accuracy to do so. The same counts for the bow section of ships. This is especially useful against BBs, since their different sections are larger and easier to hit. At max range you just aim for the centre of the ship obviously (you're not a stalingrad :P) but at close-ish ranges you can start to make use of the weakspots in ship's armor. Takes some practice, but it pays off if it becomes natural. All in all a really good match from you mate. You didnt overextend, hence you were able to survive the whole game and win the game for your team in the end. You didnt take unnecessary risks which is good. My only tip for you would be to work on your aim (You miss out on so much damage by under- or overleading targets) as well as positioning (again, you can do way more damage against broadside targets. If you force the enemies to give you broadside its partytime for the Riga). But with this playstyle you will defenitely transcend your Tallinn winrate.
  6. Second game Simply being too eager and too impatient. Look at the minimap. The enemy team probably follows your team example of going towards the 1 line. This means that the only ship they can shoot at is you. On this map as a cruisers its especially necessary to play with caution and patience, until you have more information on the enemies' positions. Just hang back a bit for the start of the game. Let them call you a camper for all you care, if that means that you have hitpoints to spare at the end of the match. btw. AP on the Chapa would have annihilated him at that angle at 15km... Third game This postion would have been perfect: Youre protected from the tirpitz, you can farm the Duke down, you have radar coverage on the cap, the hipper will come into your line of fire in a bit and you can duck into cover if the duke starts shooting at you.... Again lots of going back and forth behind an island. You would have been more effective if you have sat turned out to the left. Sure, the tirpitz might have taken a few shots at you but at the same time to do so he needs to give broadside to your team. Behind an island its very hard to use guns with high shell velocity. Also remember: When you're on the move you can adapt quicker to the flow of the battle. "Am I needed elsewhere to stop an enemy push?" In all three of your games you reposition really late, when the battle is already mostly decided. While watching I was waiting for you to turn out and start kiting because you're at a point of no return here: Either turn out now or get stuck bow in against BBs. You choose the latter. Yeah, now it is impossible to move actually as the enemy keeps pushing and pushing. Remember that their carrier died so this part of the match is where you could have used island cover and farmed while invisible to the enemy team... A missed opportunity. Even though you had a nice game with good damage. I hoped you would have done this once the hipper died: So a few more notes: - At the start take up a safe position to take potshots without risking getting deleted. - Try a few games in the open and in kiting position instead of behind an island. Once you get the hang of it your dmg output and match influence will go up massively. - Try to remain mobile to react to the battle flow: seek opportunities to get on the flanks of pushing forces.
  7. First game. (could do other games as well if you like, but going for lunch now :-) ) The Tallinn is, contrary to its "heavy cruiser" designation would suggest, a light cruiser hull. So you dont play it as a heavy cruiser such as moskva or desmoines, but as a long range kiter like a zao. The thing that sets it apart from the Chapayev is its very hard hitting AP. Therefor you should consider AP as your bread and butter ammo type. Only switch to HE for either DDs or angled targets. I'd also suggest taking the Expert Loader captain skill as the few seconds difference in reloading ammo might be the difference between a triple citadel and a triple bounce shot. The screenshot above highlights what would be my aproach to this situation. Turn your guns to the other side and prepare to kite. Never. Ever. Island camp. That is useless. Yes, you have radar, but that doesnt mean you should always be in range of the cap to radar. Your radar is more of an intelligence gathering tool rather than a killing tool due to its short duration. Now you sit stationary behind an island. This is a deathtrap. One well aimed BB salvo (yes most of them can lob over such islands from range) might devastate you. Not to forget there is a Parseval in the game who could delete you with rockets if he had a brain. Luckily for you in this match he doesnt, but this playstyle is straight up Tallinn abuse. Switching sides wasnt a bad move per se, but a Tallinn could have really shown its potential kiting and farming those BBs down. Your team this match (and especially your Asashio who almost singlehandedly lost the match for your team) was obviously utter trash and in hindsight it might have been a better move to switch sides right from the getgo, but yeah.... ship happens. You lost this trade very hard and that was unnecessary: Use AP right from the start so he cant turn (you can citadel a Hipper very easy from this range). When he switched to AP you needed to angle and not stubbornly use all your four turrets, exposing your "light cruiser" broadside. If you had angled towards him and just used your back turrets, he would have done almost zero damage to you. All in all, to improve on Tallinn: - Play as a long range kite ship. - Play in open water, unless you can make use of islands to block line of sight obviously. - AP is your friend, HE is situational (target dmg conned, went nose in or is a DD). - Take Expert loader. - I used Incoming Fire Alert. I find it very useful to know when BBs take potshots at me from long range since it gives me time to slow down and turn. - Use more AP. - Have I already said "Use more AP"?

    Naval Battles

So instead of shima, use harugumo as it farms shell hits (=ribbons) more easily.

Good? Yeah, if there are DDs. Fun? Always. :-)

Is my angling and aiming okay?

Without watching your replays.... The fact that you think about and care about your angling already sets you well into the top 50% of the playerbase. There is no skill requirement for randoms unless you are completely obsessed with your stats (which i would not recommend). You learn as you go. Now have fun in randoms Captain.
  15. And I don't like it when sbmm is seen as an improvement over random. I don't like it when some algorithm calculates my chances of winning the next match based on my past results and grants me teammates and opponents based on that. Even if it would mean I would win more. Even if it would mean the general playerbase perceives battles as "better balanced". Because it would mean that in one way or the other we would all be pawns on a chessboard of some algorithm that decides who loses and who wins (to some extend). I want my winrate to reflect my skill. If as a player you know that a system is in place to ensure you start to win when you lose a few matches or vice versa (even by only a few %), why would you even try? It would completely remove the thrill of "I need to (...) or I might lose"-factor since a loss would basically ensure a statistically less skilled opposition or a more skilled team in the future. Then I'd be off playing some other game where in the long run skill is the game deciding factor. Seriously where do people get the idea that sbmm works in Wows?
  16. Plenty of games do that but those games are inherently different in design and far greater in terms of player numbers. Eg. Shooters such as R6Siege, Valorant and CS.
  17. Good luck finding another 68%WR player who queues in the same time as me.... I'll go read a book while in queue.
  18. But...but.....muh averuugg damuuuuggggg!
  19. If you like 5 minute stomps then yes, great gamemode. Its great in its design, but sadly the playerbase is far too incompetent to comprehend how to play epicentre.
  20. its simply not as black and white as you make it out to be. 30% 5k avg dmg DDs can also be notorious AFK'ers or they can be 10-line flankers as well. The suiciders are the most devastating for you team as you lose a ship and their points as well as their vision. So even if both teams have the same amount of really low stats players, their different playstyles may influence the battle outcome heavily.
  21. Yes I'd love to constantly have 40% gluesniffers on my team to "balance" me out, just because I have a 60% solo winrate... After years of learning the game and getting better at it, that would be the ultimate endgame reward for me: a statistically worse friendly team than enemy team.... EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. /s

    Ranked Battles Long Queue

This queue makes me laugh and cry at the same time. It's funny because it shows how imbalanced the game is. It's sad because it will most likely never get better, judging by the last 5 years. Welcome to World of Battleships: The Gluesniffing Man's action game.

    BRonze > Silver playoffs

It's not about imbalance between teams, it's about playing a cruiser in a super heavy bb meta. Why would you play ca if you can have more impact in a bb or dd?
  24. GarrusBrutus

    BRonze > Silver playoffs

Yes because the queues at tiers 9 and 8 are totally not filled to the brim with bbs. I hate playing the t8/9 meta and am looking forward to silver. So I can take my cruisers again instead of being forced into dd gameplay. You simply handicap yourself by bringing a cruiser at tier 8/9.
