Hehe I was a Wargaming virgin before i started playing WoWs. But i remember when i first saw a yamato ingame. Just followed that thing around the whole game because it looked so cool. Those were the days when i said: "Such a grind. Ill never reach tier ten." And look now....

(Poll) How much will you bid for 100k coal?
GarrusBrutus replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Exactly, so players like Exca is what this whole auction is aimed at: Draining resources from the rich top 1%. Now the "plebs" () can say its unfair/stupid/whatever, but for both WG and those top 1% its quite beneficial. The same thing happened with the Research Bureau: Players complaining about the time/resource investment being too high. Well, i've got some news for you: Then it isnt meant for you. -
i miss the days when i would look in awe at a TX ship because "that player must be really experienced and good at the game to have such a might ship".

Would it be better if the epicentre circles spawned with a delay? F.e. after 5 minutes? Before that it would simply be a team deathmatch. Or would that suck even more?
-
Forces people to play around the middle of the map huh? Funny because often I see nobody give a single damn about the circles while they eat glue on the 1 or 10 lines.

You can be a super unicum player, but if the enemy has a smaland, you're going to have a bad time as a DD. Simply by the mere fact that you can't avoid stealth radar. You can however avoid getting spammed to death by a myoko. My point was that the combo of stealth radar, dpm and a heal makes it a tougher nut to crack than the next tx dd. Especially in a competitive environment.

Why would i need more commander xp? The ships i play regularly already have 21pt captains anyway. -

Nice haughty attitude again there, but with you thats hardly a surprise. -
(Poll) How much will you bid for 100k coal?
GarrusBrutus replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
Oh boo hoo. 25mil is peanuts for most of the 4k+ games players, so you can bet atleast 5k people are going to wager 25mil. If wargaming sells 100k coal for 100 mil credits, why wouldnt i? The pile of credits is basically useless anyway. Meanwhile I could use the extra coal. -
Because most players like a balanced game without ships like enterprise/fdr/smol/thun/etc.? Then the same could be said about Radar mino, yet it dictates engagement very much. If you know how and when to use your radar, every ship with stealth radar capabilities such as smaland is an absolute terror to fight.

Technically you could use freexp for research bureau points.... so..... knock yourself out

Defenitely 100 mil or more. My credits are just sitting there doing nothing while i could use the coal. -
Get it while can, kids! Fun's over before you know it.

Oh yeah, I'd totally spend my dubs on that. That is so next level game breaking. Imagine clubbing on helpless T5 BBs with triple CV squads, crosstorping them and coordinating attacks to abuse his DCP usage. Game breaking.

To disencourage defensive and static gameplay !!
GarrusBrutus replied to Genie_of_the_Lamp's topic in General Discussion
Players camping in the back full hp ruin the game for both teammates and opponents, but if you advocate against cruisers sitting next to caps to provide radar support or BBs sitting in crucial crossfire positions, then you probably don't understand how the game works. Moving for the sake of moving isnt providing "dynamic gameplay". The most boring matches are often caused because one or two players decide yolo'ing in is the best course of action, leaving the rest of their team a lobsided 10v12 match. Yolo-player: "F**k team no support." No you ape, you have the tactical wit of a rock. You do not need to decide matches in the first 5 minutes by yolo'ing in. The game is arcady but not thát arcady. Battles can be like chess and can last for twenty minutes. Every decision of every player counts and can make a huge difference at the end of the battle. Sadly most players do no realise this. -
Why wouldnt I?
-
If it was that bad you wouldn't be here anymore. Even if you don't like the game anymore, why would you try to poison their experience? Let new players decide for themselves if the game is fun or not. If I start world of warcraft today I might still enjoy it even when veteran players have already left because it wasn't fun for them anymore.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
GarrusBrutus replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
If people are frustrated about constantly losing they should try to get better at the game. On that screenshot of yours I see, besides the teams not being that far apart statistically, a lot of players with thousands of games, yet they are still not even mediocre. What good would evenly distributing players do for them? It would only encourage them to even try less hard, because they win 50% anyway. All these posts about supposed unfair matchmaking yet I see very few of those players ever posting a thread with "I want to get better at the game". Funny, isn't it? You can't have your cake and eat it too. Want to have better matchmaking? Get good yourself. That way you'll atleast have one guy in your team who you can rely on. -
Torpedo focused DDs often have low rate of fire but relatively high alpha (f.e. Shimakaze). If a shima comes into close quarter combat with another DD it tends to lose. But..... A shima is fast, has low concealment and most of its gunpower on the back of the ship. This means that you want to fight the enemy DD with your aft towards him. When going for caps: Reverse into the cap, this way you can make a quick escape and you take less damage when spotted. You don't want to encounter enemy DDS like this: Instead you want to encounter them like this: When a match starts, try to imagine and predict where you will encounter the enemy DDs. Ofcourse if the enemy has French DDs you can expect them earlier due to their speed. But overall you will encounter the enemy DDs on the "equator" of the map. Make sure you do not run into them head first like the first picture above, but instead be prepared and have your ship in the right position, like in the second picture above.

When the only winning move is not to play
GarrusBrutus replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
The matchmaking is rigged and winrate is predetermined anyway, so it doesn't matter when you play. -

BBs are super boring to play, what would you change to make them more fun to play?
GarrusBrutus replied to seXikanac's topic in General Discussion
You cannot be serious. Either you didnt play back then or your memory deceives you. Stealth firing was the most broken and unfair game mechanic in the game. The longer the battle lasts the more opportunities arise for BBs to make a push, as does it for the other classes. People in this game tend to not realise that battles can last 20 minutes. You do not need to yolo in and kill three ships right from the getgo. "I got focused because my team hides in the back!" -> No, maybe you shouldnt push in the second minute of the game when everyone is still alive.... In the opening stages of the game BBs should remain as support in the back. If this is too boring for a player then maybe he shouldnt play battleships. It has been like this since the very beginning of the game. As have the "BBs cant push, HE is too strong" threads. Then you must love the introduction of subs, that noone except DDs can "deal with". Yeah much fun... If i want to play a simulator Ill play something else. I play WoWs because its an arcade game. I simply cannot wrap my head around what you want the game to be. Some sort of real life simulation where BBs are the flagships and everyone else plays to facilitate their supreme power?
