Feel the wrath of the nerf wounded CV !
GarrusBrutus replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
Players caused this nerfing? How about bad game design caused this rework. You played 13% of your random games in CV and now suddenly when it suits the argument you're trying to make, you see yourself as a CV main and you talk about "they" vs "me", LUL. -
Why the Hell is Tier 8 being put with Tier 10, insanly UNFAIR

How to stay excited about lower tier ships when you already have the tier X?
GarrusBrutus replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Because it's challenging and fun. Because getting top of the team in a uptiered ship feels better than in a top-tier ship. Because you enjoyed certain ships during your grind and you will still enjoy them, even when you have its successor in port. Because tier 10 is not end-game content. -
Since DDs are quite challenging to play and unforgiving (if you get spotted everyone will shoot at you), I'd suggest just start from the bottom and grind each line slow and steady. Go to the next ship in the line when you feel you've mastered atleast the basics of the ship youre currently playing.

@AdmiralDing3Ling ^ take note I used to watch I_AM_LULU_SNAIL play on twitch. Something that I learned was that he never raged. He always talked about what he could have done better during his play. Even when dealt sh!tcards in the form of a horrible team or horrible matchmaking, he tried to make the best of it. That is the attitude you should look for as well.

QFT Oh youre right, when i was grinding tier 7's I still had to face tier 10's. But seriously, even the most potato in the game can grind past tier 8 in a couple of games with all flags/camo's that exist today. When you cannot hold your own in a -2 Tier ship you're simply not ready for the next tier. ROFL what did you smoke? Let me have some of that. What you wrote in the above quote has a lot of "I'm making up facts to support my claim"-flavour about it. Premium divisioning players know nothing bout playing silver solo?................What? Premiums are p2w?............what? Skilled players can use every tool to win. Im interested in who told you all of this, because it makes no sense. What is a stronger ship? This is quite situational since for it to be 'stronger' it has to be compared to another ship. In some circumstances a certain ship can be strong and in some its weak. A skilled player can make any ship work, a lesser skilled player can make even a Stalingrad look weak. Sure, fighting a (evenly skilled) Scharnhorst in your Emerald can be... challanging, but in the next match you get to bully some poor T4's. Balans right? In the end it is a teamgame, where everyone does their contribution. You are not expected to take down a full hp Scharnhorst in your Emerald. Some friendly T7 BB is supposed to do that. We can go on and on about this but +2/-2 MM is here to stay and more and more people will play tier 10. Maybe it was easier to play tier 8's in the past, maybe not. Fact is that anyone can learn and get better. With the right attitude one might learn enough to hold their own when uptiered and god forbid even have some fun while doing so. Goodnight. ps. @Mr_Tayto oldie but gold

Funny enough I never see threads "The game is too easy when being downtiered and I'm always top of the team when that happens.". People like to complain when things seem against them. I still enjoy playing my tier 5-8's and I still enjoy playing them solo. Although I do understand that it can be frustrating being uptiered, as a player you have to adapt to the matchmaking. It wasnt different when I was grinding the game. It is just the way the game is designed. That is subjective to say the least. A tier 8 destroyer struggles just as much in tier 10 MM as a tier 8 cruiser or BB. The way I see it, is that when uptiered you play safer and when downtiered you can risk a little more. I really don't see the problem with being uptiered except the frequency that it happens. What exactly is your point? That players do not have equal chances? That premiums are P2WIN? It is a skillbased game, just like many others. Bad players will get their behinds wooped by better players. Doesnt matter if the latter has a superior or inferior ship. Where are the unequal chances you talk about? Every player can play every ship, its a matter of what you can get out of it.

I can imagine it is not fun for nine consecutive games but unfortunately the reality is that it is unlikely its going to change anytime soon. My advice would be to div up with players to ease the burden of playing +2 MM, to play ships youre comfortable in playing +2 MM and/or take a break at lower tiers where the MM is +1/-1 if it gets too difficult. Always remember that when uptiered you're not expected to carry games. If you focus on doing your ships' job and support your team, most of the time you will get a decent result out of it and even end up on top of the xp board. The most important aspect is to stay alive long enough to have impact. Sure, ships two tiers above your own can probably do alot of dmg to you. But if you can avoid taking that huge damage at the start, you will be able to do alot in the later stages of the game when "the herd has been thinned out". That is why you see bad players die first in their -2 Tier ships and blaming the matchmaking and whatnot. That is why you see unicums play the same ships, staying alive until the end and even end up on top of the team. o7

Yeah I think we probably think the same about the strength of the buffs but I phrased it as if they do not have any strength, which obviously isn't true. But what I meant was that collecting the buffs shouldn't be the primary objective. The primary objective is to destroy the enemies. How many times you see players mixing up the primary and secondary objectives and by doing so throwing away their ship for the possible gain of a buff? Lots of times. So are the buffs worth using less sensible play? Imho, no they aren't.
-
No. They do not give xp, just the boost. And losing a ship, especially a DD, early game is a massive blow to a team. But the WoWs playerbase being the WoWs playerbase do not know this secret that the longer you live the more influence you can have on a match so instead they will just yolo for these weird circles in the middle of the map. Ive seen BBs yolo at the very start. Ive seen Ibukis trying to get a buff in the middle of the map. What these players are thinking is beyond me. Funny part is, these players have often tens of thousands of games under their belt.

Ranked battles rework - Stars retirement

How am I supposed to know you played WoT CBs? Even then, they aren't the same. I played CS competitive, so I must like wows competitive? Everyone is entitled to their opinion but sheeple who repeat others' opinions without implementing their own experience on a subject seem rather dumb to me. -

Do you understand how idiotic it is what you said? "Finland is a country full of ugly people. I've never been there but watched a movie about Finland once so it must be true." Also, if you're one of his loyal cult members who repeat everything he says like he is your God, understand this is hard to take in. -
With the carrier rework and especially with an audacious on the enemy team you have to play your Shima very different than normal. If you go off on your own, you're dead. I know that is what Shima mains always tend to do, but just a tip: stay within the AA of the fleet in order to survive against carriers.

How does EM improve quality of life over AR? Any improvement to your damage output is worth it imo. Having a 14-15s reload after taking some damage can mean 5 to 6 extra salvos over the course of the battle.

@RAHJAILARI farmed his (overextended and lonely) bb in my dd. He wasn't too happy about it as you can read. -
Exactly. @MrConway why isn't this implemented? For 11 seasons people have been complaining about starsavers. Teamplay and good/smart plays should be rewarded, not brainless damage farming.
-
If wargaming would make the ranked rewards the same as the clan battle rewards it would be much more enjoyable since damage farming would not be rewarded. You lose, you lose a star. You win, you gain a star. Get rid of this starsaving bull****.
