Around 1500 battles played according to wows-numbers. Who did actually buy the Neustrashimy? Would you buy it if it was cheaper or sold for another currency?

Can we have option to go back patch 0.2.0
GarrusBrutus replied to 7obruk's topic in General Discussion
Implementation of smoke firing penalty? Implementation of new maps? Implementation of new ships? Making radar range universal for countries. Clan battles.... There are plenty of good implementations imo. If some things do not appeal to you does not mean they are bad or hated by everybody. -
Posting single games to prove a point is the prime example of framing. "Look the stars aligned just right for me!" Your average dmg over two games is exactly half.

Enjoy the blob-fiesta. In other words: Which team has less potatoes who go solo-yol....

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

Maybe they're just getting incorporated into a pan-EU techtree. ib4 reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee -
And note that Cloud is the top Russian clan with almost solely super unicum players. Not some potato clan. So before you make hackusations you should know who you are facing.

Just dodge! Gave me a good laugh. Thanks.

Hmmmmmmm'm maybe because they're not objective?

Wargaming doesn't balance the game around skewed wows-numbers.com statistics.

... And saturation.

How is your ship specced and what captain skills do you use? Also: run premium consumables! Totally worth the extra cost. And you need to understand the armorscheme of the ibuki. It is made out of Shoji paper. So your best bet to negate damage taken and survive is dodging. To perform best in a ship, play it for its intended purpose. Ibuki for example has low detection (which means you can support DDs by sailing close behind them and giving fire support), high HE and fire dmg potential (HE all the way baby) and is rather maneuverable (you can dodge a lot of incoming fire by playing with your speed and wiggling). It is one of the best kiters (sailing with the enemy chasing your booty, keeping them lit up). It's major weakness is the armor though so do not try to tank shells with your ship.

How many of you use Mods or Programs In WOWS to your advantage?

I play vanilla because I'm too lazy to keep updating aslains. And I like my screen as clean as possible. The information I need is either in my head or I look it up on my second screen. Also: how some people play with a minimap the size of an ant baffles me. -
The best bb advice I could give is play DDs and cruisers as well. That way you will experience and know how it is like to play those classes and how those captains think. In a bb it is valuable knowledge if you can predict to some extend what your enemies are going to do next. Learning where the line is between extending beyond a point of no return (and dying) and being the most useful for your team (tanking damage) is also very important. In a bb you can take a pounding, heal up and be ready with a lot of HP left at the end of the battle for the last push.

Garrus waiting for the enemies to push his flank. -
Maplesyrup statistics anyone? I don't believe this. Before the nerf I used to see atleast one per battle and now you see one per... Week?

Play with your team and to the strengths of your ship as much as possible. Avoid going Han-solo-yolo because that is a one way ticket to port. Also people tend to forget that rushing the caps may not be the best tactic on this map. It's actually the a more tactical map then any other, crazy as it may seem. As bbs I'd stay back at first until you know most enemy positions. Then later you can push in and blap low HP targets. As cruisers id support the DDs as much as possible in the beginning to get a positive dd-HP trade. Then retreat and help out getting targets low with long range dpm. As DD you just scout for starters and deny areas for the enemy team. Later in the game you can dmg farm as the fleet is thinned out.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
GarrusBrutus replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Hey Smoky, nice video by the way! Always nice to see a real face behind a sailors profile. And although I agree that matchmaking can be improved further you should also know how it was when this game was only one or two years old. Mate... Just watch some 2015 wows vids and you will know. You know nothing about lobsided matches. A couple of things came to my mind when listening to you. First was this: how does this system prevent players from getting frustrated by getting worse teammates the more they improve? Because that is basically what it means. If you suck donkeyb4lls you get some godlike unicorn to carry you and vice versa. All because it is more fun to have equal matches which means getting everyone to around 50% wr. Why would anyone try to get better at the game if that means getting teamed up with worse players? I think that it's a bad idea. This idea of skill based MM has been mentioned a thousand times before but matchmaking will always remain random. You know what the best thing about random matchmaking is? That it is random. Sure, you can have losing streaks and winning streaks. But play enough games and your winrate will reflect your skill. The only non-random thing about the matchmaker is you. "yes, but I'm just 1/12th of the team, so my impact is limited.". That maybe right, but if your impact is positive each match then your wr will rise above 50% and vice versa. 2nd thing: on a scale from 1 to 10 we have on 10 the "try hard unicorns" on the one side and on 1 the "I don't care about performance, I just wanna blow off some steam" sailors. In a game where these two groups are put in the same basket it is going to be really tough to make the second group try to improve. Simply because they have no interest in doing so. And that is fine. But as soon as you start to put weight on them as a performance measurement for a team they become a burden to their teammates. That isn't really fair imo. My main point is that even though MM sometimes seems wonky and matches seem decided even before a single Salvo has been fired, it is random and that is the best thing ever. If MM wasn't random it would only decrease your enjoyment of the game because at some point you will feel like the system is rigged against you. For every win there would come a programmed loss at some point. Talking about matches being decided before even a shot has been fired.... Does that sound fun to you? I've played throughout horrible losing streaks. I've played in matches where the enemy had carriers and we didn't. I've played in matches where we didn't have destroyers and the enemy did. Yet I'm still here playing the game. Why? Because every next battle is a another chance at that one special game where all the stars align, you're the hero that secures the last kill to win the game and you think to yourself: this is why I play this game. o7 -
Sell some old ships and rebuy them later when you've grinded a load more credits?

Holy moly what did you do to the poor fella? United by a common foe. Atleast some positive that came out of the rework.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
GarrusBrutus replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
95% of the players is between 45 and 55 % winrate. So in terms of wins and losses the game is very much balanced. Steamrolls are more frequent now than they were a couple of years back and that is the main concern about matchmaking these days. They happen more frequent because 1) almost all long time players below 45% have reached tier 10. 2) tier 10 is played much more. 3) skillgap between long time players and new players has increased significantly. 4) powercreep and introduction of powerful ships such as stalingrad. 5) these things combined often create matches where one side loses 2 or 3 ships in the first couple of minutes and that is hard to come back from. -

Completely random is as fair as it gets. Steamrolls will always happen. They also happen in the hurricane league where all players are unicums. That is just the nature of the game.
