Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Dear Ph3lan, I think by now the basic feedback or demand should be clear to your superiors. Despite the PR squabble WGEU demanded you, Ph3lan, to pour into this fire and thanks to the active members of our community in this thread there are many points still open and only few points missing on our list of questions to the WGEU higher ups. The general question on "WHY" WGEU decided to act like this (as in: treating the EU server different/worse) needs a sound answer, an apology and a roadmap that prevents such disasters in the future. I can imagine it's hard, but please try to convince your higher ups that any PR mumbo jumbo - that every halfway intelligent person unveils easily as distraction - will leed only to more raging and an even greater loss of trust in WGs abilitys to handle a delicate situation. What baffles me though is the question of "HOW"? @Ph3lan and Team: Do the team members of the team that are responsible for this fiasco, play the game on a regular basis? Because to me - and this reflects only my current state of information - it looks like as if the members of said team a) have never player Warships at all nor took a look in the forums, thus they have no idea on how the game works and the forum interacts with its community or b) although they have an Warships account, only dipped in the first few tiers and decided it's not their cup of tea. Much like the player that comes to the Clemsons Gun upgrades and sees that it gives only a +1 artillery rating and thinks to himself 'naaahh that's not good'. To me both are bad, but b) is worse. It creates some dangerous half knowledge, compared with apparent resilience of the higher up to learn anything about sound decision making in onlince business, this is a recipe for desaster. And while I can accept a few days time to pass before any decision regarding the cleanup of this mess comes through, I understand everybody that has no patience anymore: So, if you can Ph3lan, kick some rears to get things moving. Apparently some mangers need that every once in a while. Thanks to everybody for trying your best to keep this thread civilized, and while I understand the anger towards some mods, please remember: A thread of (now!) close to 100 pages in a few days full of sound criticism is worth much more, than a thread that contains mostly insults towards either the CM-team, WG or the mods. Greetings

Here a quick one from the Chieftain: Source to full Quote: So Admiral Noodle could be pretty right with his assumption of Tirpitz count. Greetings

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

I want answers as well! But what do you do, if you ask about this situation on the stream and either the hosts and/or viewers ignore your questions (likely to happen) or (what would be equally worse) other viewers attack you, 'why you can't leave them alone on the stream!' I agree that we need answers! And due to the fact that more and more streamers pick up the topic, the pressure comes from a different side. The only other way to build up pressure without dragging innocent players or viewers into this situation is by denying WG our time and/or money. If the beancounters see that their numbers are dropping, caused by a decision they made, they will act upon it. And likes for Noodle and Egoleter (and the others I've probably forgot) to raise the awareness of this issue in a civilised maner. Greetings

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Actually it does not! How do you ruin a stream? Most of the time you have to do something that's against the rules. The host (whoever that may be) has then to act upon said rules. And raise the point that you only wanted to bring the atention to the higher ups two things will happen: 1. The innocent viewers (those who either don't want to look further into the issue or those who only watch a stream on a peacefull christmas holiday) will get pi$$ed at those who disturb their stream and not (!) at those the rage was targeted at (WG EU). So for those people - even if they understand and accknowledge what WG EU did wrong - YOU are the bad guy. More so as WG EU in that particular moment. 2. From that point on where some (rightfully) angry players use "lower" methods to bring some points accross, WG EU can from then onwards always use the "victim-card" as in: 'We wanted to answer your questions, but due to raging viewers this was not possible' I agree that viewers can ask questions regarding the topic, but if Conway and Izolate ignore those questions, what else do you want to do? As I said in the beginning of my post: There are only very vew ways of bringing a point accross without unloading on some one innocent. Greetings

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Well well well... what do we have here. You're actions and the feeling that I have to support some fellow players here, dragged me out of my hiatus. 1. Tuccy: I sincerely hope that you're posts are scripted somehow or that you're forced to put out such posts. I can't belive (still hoping that WGEU sees the light on how to properly communicate) how arrogant some posts are. And I can only assume from previous "mishaps" that most of the CCs/CMs would like to post their own, critical positions, but are not allowed (If Tuccy the player is somewhere out there, he should use some sekrit texting methods to let us know he doesn't condone the actions of his employer <-- SARCASM) 2. More feedback? I think by now it should be clear that most of the playerbase that are active here on the forum (me including) can't understand why WGEU chooses to treat EU players differently than players of other servers. It's not like it would require some Frauleins thrown in a Volcano as a sacrifice to get access to the sekrit server page that lets you mark the checkbox "server equality". This doesn't mean that the stuff should cost the same on all the servers, but make it availiable! Be it a campaign or some weird specials or some missions. Unless you handle the feedback really like Egoleter described it. You monitor it, but you don't act upon it. At least not in a way that would be deemed positive by the playerbase. 3. As for communications: At least for me we're beyond that. This is no communications problem anymore. It was at GNB and at some other occasions but this is a different scale. It looks like (and WGEUs actions speak for themselves) that the main goal currently is to drain as much money/time from the players as possible. Now I might be wrong on this one, but all those "negative" actions during the last 365 days were done on purpose. I feel like Gunnery Seargent Hartman, standing in front of Gomer Pyle and giving him the "You did that on purpose, you want to be different" speech. And I even belive that some of us would only be "pacified" if Viktor himself would come here and tell us, that it was all for the mooniez. 4. No criticism without some possible solutions (otherwise it would only count as whine): Hmmm... I only see one solution in the current situation WGEU could choose to at least soothen the pain WGEU gave its playerbase. There is no way that any (halfa$$ed) apology would be accepted and we can move on: Give us the same missions as the other servers. Plain and simple, isn't it? If you feel that this isn't justified or you simply don't want to give out free stuff, ok, but please tell us this, as it would make life much easier. I don't have a problem with a company that thinks it's ok to treat customers differently just because they're from different locations and is honest about it. My wallet and I will be honest with you too and treat one company (WG) different than another company (some Scottish distillery). Blackskull's story about the three kids and the fire truck is the best example to simplfy the problem to terms that even three three year olds would understand. Now excuse me please, I open some fine scotch, put up some CCR and retreat back on my virtual farm. A merry christmas to all of you! Stay civilized! Greetings

    Hello, noob here!

Sure the BBs should do that. But nonetheless a BB can oneshot a cruiser no matter if the cruiser is on the front line and the BB on the back or the other way round. On the other hand (much like the shotgunning arty that wiffes a shot) a cruiser can survive a BB broadside salvo at close range. Gretings

    Hello, noob here!

Mostly. Sure the occasional toxic player occurs, and we do have quite some troll wandering around, but as long as your tone is civil, you be heard. Now for your question: CVs are kind of an odd spot. If your not a geek for real time strategy, you'll have it hard as you go up. Especially if you only do CVs as you then don't know of what your targets are capable of. At least up to T5 (and T6 to get a first insight into punishing Anti Air Armament) I'd suggest, that you branch out a bit. Give cruisers, DDs and BBs a try. As for the WoT analgoy. Warships does have some arty thingy and thats the BBs. If you're in a cruiser and happen to be shot at and don't take evasive action your done! Unlike in WoT, BBs usually get spotted when they fire, so with a bit of brain and some situational awareness dodging (in any ship) saves you quite often. Enjoy your stay on the high seas! Greetings

[IDEA] overhaul of the camouflage system

Nice. I do have the feeling, while those QnA are not done on the EU Server (shame for that) the reddit approach seems to work quite well ATM. I haven't seen that much User - Dev Interaction in a while! And that's good! Let's see what the relevant team thinks of your suggestion. Greetings

Some interesting info around the world

From the Dev QnA on reddit: Sub_Octavian: It is logical because it corresponds to balancing and gameplay purposes. And it corresponds to our damage model design. After this prolonged discussion we researched Warspite performance more closely. There is no need to buff or change her, (while the change you are suggesting is a very small buff). Your request, unfortunately, cannot be fulfilled. Sorry. Q Sub_Octavian: You are welcome. Yep, this is good suggestion. It has been approved and will most lkely be implemented. However, at this time I cannot name update number. "Somewhere in 2017" is the most accurate date. Q Sub_Octavian: In net profit values CVs are currently on the same level as other classes, which is good. Before 0.5.12 they were a bit over-farming, which was bad: players should chose their classes based on personal preferences, not on economy. Q Sub_Octavian: Always welcome! This is an interesting suggestion. Other possible option is using personal offers mechanics to show some line-specific tutorials. And there are other ideas floating around, too. We will consider yours. Thanks! Q Sub_Octavian: They are in production. I cannot reveal planned update number, sorry. But I can say for sure that nearest lines are NOT RN BB. Q Sub_Octavian: There are currently no plans for such balance changes. Q Sub_Octavian: The effect on T5-6 MM is not "intentional", but rather "natural". After the changes, T2-3 and T7-8 got more comfortable, and T5-6 got less comfortable. This coincided with upper tiers population growth. We realized it prior to the change and don't view it as something that should be rapidly "fixed". Then this topic was raised, and we looked into it more, ready to change our mind. But we found no stong arguments for that. Q Sub_Octavian: Well, I am certainly not UI design expert, but from my point of view you made some sense. I will send your suggestion to relevant team. Thank you! Q Sub_Octavian: No. We respectfully disagree and believe that IJN torpedos have adequate stats for current meta. Of course, "short" versions are superior. And this is good, because we don't want to encourage "torpedo soup" when all you have to do is to spam torpedoes from huge ranges. By the way, high tier IJN avg. torp+flooding damage is 20-25% higher than USN. Q Sub_Octavian: You are welcome. Any job takes effort, so this is fine You have asked an interesting question. We do see some dangerous fluctuations in class balance, and currently are researching it in depth. That means conducting surveys, gathering data scopes and brainstorming. We want to establish several perfect battle compositions and then find a way to achieve them (to shift the meta if needed). However, ideally we would like to do it smart way. Maybe some counter-buffs or even indirect tweaks. But nerfs are also possible. They are difficult to avoid when dealing with balance in MMO game, unfortunately. I cannot go into detail, the research is not finished yet (but we plan to summarize what we have in several days and then go on with internal discussion). What is important is that we are on this, and willing to act if needed. And yes - we believe all ship classes should have their happy player base. No one here wants World of BBs mono-class game. Q Sub_Octavian: You are welcome! No, in terms of gameplay these will be two separate nations. Q Sub_Octavian: Hello. Thank you for the ideas, they are interesting. We'd rather not let power creep, one of the reasons: because it is very bad for new players. However, we are not letting it now. We buff old ships if there are problems with them. Sometimes it takes research and much thought, sometimes we do it directly. But we would like to maintain all ships viable, this is good for players, and good for the game. Q Sub_Octavian: Hi. No problem, thanks for reading and asking. There is a paradox: Fletcher is "better" at torpedoes while Kagero has significantly better torpedo damage according to server stats. You are right about USN DDs being more general purpose. And Fletcher is a fine ship. But I cannot confirm that she has superior torpedoes. In theorycraft - maybe, but not "in real game". Q Sub_Octavian: Hello! MM changes did not cause any significant influence on new players transition - this is data fact. However, you are absolutely right that for newcomers, there should be kind if additional guidance. And we already have quite an interesting solution that at least partially solves that problem. You will see it soon. Q Sub_Octavian:I want to stand by objective answers. I look at the numbers quite often. Let's see last 4 days worldwide, for example. Most popular T2 cruiser: Weymouth (30,4% among 8 cruisers) Most popular T3 cruiser: Caledon (32,9% among 6 cruisers) Most popular T4 cruiser: Danae (39,7% among 7 cruisers) Most popular T5 cruiser: Emerald (25,1% among 8 cruisers) Most popular T6 cruiser: Cleveland (Leander has 14,5% share among 6 cruisers) Most popular T7 cruiser: Myoko (Fiji has 7,9% share among 13 cruisers) Most popular T8 cruiser: Mogami (Edinburgh has 7% share among 8 cruisers) Most popular T9 cruiser: Ibuki (Neptune has 14,7% share among 5 cruisers) Most popular T10 cruiser: Zao (Minotaur has 13,1% share among 5 cruisers) By the way, RN cruiser have WR and avg damage from medium to the top places over all tiers currently. So we see newcomers are dominating low tiers, look good on medium and high tiers (although, progress speed is not that high to evaluate high tiers properly). If we look at the same period after 0.5.10 update (GER BB introduction), the picture is pretty much the same - new battleships were most popular on T3-6 and slowly securing their places at higher tiers. There is no "shockobgly low" numbers. And if we notice that some ships are underpowered and need some love, we will buff them. We did not work on this line to make it obsolete. However, some ships will always be more popular than others. It is impossible to reach equal popularity among all ship groups. Greetings

    New Noob reporting for duty

I suggest, leave the WR at the momen where it is and try to have fun (e.g. figure out which types/ships you like and which not). A good (as in 50% and better) WR will be developed over time! Depending on the ships you like, Business6 (from the NA server) has also lots of technical videos about ships and tactics, so you might want to give him a try. Greetings

[IDEA] overhaul of the camouflage system

Sounds interesting! But just to be clear that I understood what you proposed: A player pays only for the effect the camo should give (i.e. 8k dubloons for -3% visibilty) but gets to choose from a selection of camos which one he slaps on his ships? +1! Greetings

Greetings
  18. Ohhh man. Für einen Moment dachte ich beim Lesen des Titels was das wohl kommen mag. Dann hat mich ein Blick auf den Namen des TEs etwas verwirrt... und der Inhalt dann bestätigt, dass es sich um etwas sinnvolles handelt! Weitermachen! Grettings

    Ocean Map

A bit of an anecdote (and give OP a few more vents to target his saltiness about the map): Wasn't it, that WG wanted to remove this map during the transition from Alpha to CBT, but kept it because so many (Alpha)-Player demanded it? Greetings
