Ahhh yes. Bothered checking WHEN my last game in the Isokaze was? Bet not. But who cares. If you try to stat shame at least do it correctly ;)

Let me fix that for you: It's an MMO, get used to it. Heck, I had a number of lines that played completely different when I started compared to now. That's the nature of an online game and not something that is solely done to anger you. We all have been there. I reached the Mogami the day AFTER the AFT/BFT nerf. I reached Shima AFTER the torpedo nerfs (increased spotting). Do you see me complain? No, I adjusted my game play. On the other hand you seem to miss that it can work the other way round too: Players have reached the Iowa just as their citadells got lowered. Or started playing with the Yorck/Izumo/IJN gunboats AFTER their buffs. Heck I waiter for my Baltimore grind (when she was still T9) until she got her reload buffed. So in short: Changes to the game work both ways. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Accept it. Or don't. But stop spouting around that this happened only to you!

Could you please pop into the relevant German topic and if needed clarify? Because to me it reads as if captains will NOT be retrained to a new ship. E.g. My current RN DD captain is trained on the Gallant, I was under the impression that if I move him to the Lightning, he will then after the patch be retrained for the LIghtning.- 20 replies

Naja man muss hier schon unterscheiden. Es geht in diesem Thread um zwei Dinge: 1. Multi Pen Bug. Eine Mumpel verursacht mehrfach Schaden. Hier hat WG klar gesagt, dass es ein Bug ist der behoben werden wird (und ich habe in diesem Thread KEINEN gesehen, der diesen Bug befürwortet/verteidigt. 2. Reguläre BB AP pen auf DDs. Anstelle von Overpens/Durchschlägen verursacht eine BB AP Mumpel denselben Schaden (1/3 des maximal gelisteten) wie bei jedem anderen Schiff. Z.B. DD auf 15km mal beschossen und schwupps 3x (13500/3) hinten herunter gefallen. Hier gehen hingegen die Meinungen auseinander ob das im Spiel bleiben soll oder nicht (bzw. ob der aktuell dargestellte Fix gut ist oder nicht).

Geeez... ok I'm adressing the points one at a time, so you have a chance of following me: Look at my stats and tell me if I played enough T10 games. Bottom line: Farming bad players occurs on every tiers. Only difference is, that on low tiers that is a somewhat valid tactic to win games. Apart from that, when the situation of a battle allows it (sometimes enforces it), I can happily farm away. Just recently I used my Seattle to farm a sitting Yamato. The dude wasn't afk, but simply sat there and shot at targets at 20km distance and ignoring the cruiser that's farming him. For Clans? Yes I do. Uhmmm yes I do. Either here on the forums or via my YT channel Yes I do. Again... either here on the forums or via my YT channel. However: I am honest with them. I don't pamper a new player by telling him, buy a ship and it'll be easy or do this and you insta win. Oh I have a fairly good idea why some players (hint hint) leave the game. Ahhh the classic argument: He has multiple T10s, he must be a no lifer. Fun Fact: My first T10 took me one and a half year. By choice. Just because someone is better than you doesn't mean they play the game 24/7. And regarding the changes: It's a MMO, it needs to be changed frequently to keep the interest up.

If you quote me, at least do it correctly will you? I specifically mentioned the IJN gunboat DD buff: And again, these hit only a very small number of DDs. Three out of what ...50? 60? Yeah. Great buff for all DDs. Sarcasm aside: Apart from the clearly mentioned in my original post IJN gunboat DD buff, what other buffs have been there that benefited all DDs the same way. -

Which is pretty much was this "Overpen only" change is supposed to do. Will it deliver? We'll see. We e.g. don't know atm if the mentioned 1/10th of the maximum dmg is capped at per shell (which would get rid of the multi pen bug - against DDs) or not (so that e.g. a multi pen over pen would still be possible). Remains to be seen. -

If you believe that, that's your choice. I'd reword it and say: WG balances upon number of players affected by something. As this could endager any potential sales. -
Naja ... ich kann ja auch nur für mich sprechen. Sehe ich - wie schon gesagt - nicht so. BB AP auf DD ist (fast) wirkungslos. Erklärt. Und Ausnahmen von einer Regel wird es immer geben. Ja, und? Es wird immer Balanceänderungen geben. Heute ist ein Schiff zu stark, morgen zu schwach. Dann kommt eine Neue Linie und wirft wieder alles über den Haufen. Was heute funktioniert, mag morgen vielleicht schon ein Schuss in den Ofen sein. Solange das offen gelegt wird habe ich kein Problem damit.

Möglich. Ich hatte das in einem anderen Thema ja schon mal angesprochen: Solange es (zu) wenig Spieler betrifft braucht man nicht dran rumschrauben. Naja ich brauche keine normalpens auf DDs. Aber sollte die Spee wirklich einbrechen (hat ja Sub_Octavian schon auf reddit glaube ich gemeint), dann wird halt gebufft. Ich sehe einfach kein Problem dabei eine Mechanik einzuführen und nach und nach andere Schiffe - die unter dieser Mechanik "leiden", zu buffen. Ich sagte: Demselben (!) Ergebnis. Nehmen wir mal ein Beispiel aus meiner beruflichen Vergangenheit: Ich musste ein Messfahrzeug von A nach B fahren, das Motorhaubenschloß war aber hinüber. Jetzt hätte man entweder den langwierigen Prozess anstossen können ein neues Motorhaubenschloss einzusetzen oder man nutzt Gaffertape. Viel davon. Die Funktion, die Motorhaube geschlossen zu halten, wurde so oder so erfüllt. Da könnte man natürlich jetzt auch noch die Definitionen diskutieren die wir (bzw. WG und wir) von gut laufenden Systemen haben. MMn Bugfrei != gut laufend. Und ja, will man das. Wie schon oben gesagt: Ich habe kein Problem damit, dass jetzt mal auf den Live Server zu bringen. Wenn es Probleme gibt, kann man immer noch anpassen.

Nun. Dann ließe sich ja jetzt trefflich über folgendes diskutieren: Wenn ein Fix die Symptome ausreichend behebt, muss dann das Problem dennoch grundlegend geändert werden? Oder anders ausgedrückt: Wenn ein Workaround und die Problembehebung denselben Endeffekt haben, warum dann Geld für die (vermutlich teurere) Problembehebung ausgeben. Mir persönlich ist es erst Mal gleichgültig ob ein Workaround oder eine Probelembehebung daher kommt. Dinge sollen funktionieren, wenn sie das mit einem Workaround tun, yay!

I've seen my fair share of BB AP blaps on DDs. On all ranges and on both ends of the equation. Ofc, that is all anecdotal evidence. With WG being the guys that have all the data. Unlike we here in the forums. Apparently overall: Too much occurences for WG to let it slip by. -
Leider (noch) nicht. Und bzgl. des GC: Ich bezweifle, dass es da noch eine andere Möglichkeit gibt. Vielleicht kann @Sehales weiterhelfen?

According to your definition. WG obviously thinks otherwise. I never said it was a bug. Riiiight. I'm sure it has been posted before but, what options does a spotted DD have: - Staying broadside (to minimize BB AP pen): Get's obliterated by the HE companions of the BB - Turn in/out: Get's obliterated by the BB AP pen - Get's lucky and nothing happens. Having a game situation that purely depends on luck is in my opinion a bad game design. So: Change the mechanics that you eliminate said luck. WG went the route of forcing BB players to switch to HE. Ahhhh the insults when the arguments run out. If it makes you happy.... -

Let me reword what I said: WG apparently wants HE to be the sole ammunition against DDs (apart from the RN CLs). I'd agree on that one. All this change is doing, is forcing players to use the right ammunition. Want to keep one or the other ammunition perma loaded? Fine, you can still do some DMG. Want to excell? Use the right ammo at the right time. That is what I'd call skilled. -

Well ... that's more or less a problem of every MMO isn't it. WG/Lesta has to balance the game but take into account the casuals on one hand (that either are not able to or simply don't want to learn game mechanics, at least not in the same way "pro" players do) and hardcore players (that try to use every game mechanic to their advantage). So: For the casuals spamming (IF)HE onto everything is the way to go. Heck if BB AP on DDs would occur only in one of 100 cases, WG/Lesta probably wouldn't have changed it. But it became an issue and so they had to change it. The same will become true for (IF)HE spam if it gets much worse. For the hardcore players little changes, they switch - as you pointed out - already enough ammo to be better than the casual player. This skill gap needs to be somewhat maintained. I disagree. Knowing a) what ammo to use on what targets and b) switching to the right ammo at the right time is in my opinion a valuable skill that distinguishes the average player from the skilled ones. Having one 'right' ammo for everything is what would be dumbing the game down. Look at DW torps. In a way they are not the right ammo against DDs. So you need to be smart enough to switch to a different ammo when the situation arises (or curse in all chat that the enemy DD is a hacker). -
Weil du anscheinend die Patchnotes immer noch nicht gelesen hast... 3 Patches = 12 Wochen. Je Woche kann man 4 Guineas erspielen. 4 * 12 = .... Was zu Ende geht - und das ist kein Gerücht - sind die Container welche Sovereigns enthalten.
