The weekly missions, while being quite different from the bootcamps (which do get boring after you have been through them 2-3 times each), are certainly challenging and some of the rewards are quite good. But they are nothing to be excited about in my opinion.
I am definetely not the first to ask these questions, nor will I be the last.
Why does WG insist on rewarding bad gameplay?
Play a DD and sink a CV? great idea, give all the DDs on the server an incentive to do something which is not helping the team winning.
Get 5 kills? another great idea, give everyone an incentive to care more about last hitting than doing actual damage.
Why not use these missions to encourage good play?
Pearl harbor missions for instance:
Play as an IJN CV and hit with X torpedoes and Y bombs.
Play as a USN CV and shoot down X amount of enemy aircraft. (Given the current meta it would be nice to see AS Ranger/Lexington instead of the pure strike versions which gets continously obliterated by hiryu/shokaku)
Battle of River Plate:
Play as a RN CL or KM CL/CA and do X amount of damage. (Maybe we could have more than 3 cruisers on each team?)
I am sure someone is better at coming up with alternatives for missions than I am, and like I said, I dont mind the challenging bit of the missions. I mind the bad gameplay they promote.
