CV is the gode-like class par excellence
Jethro_Grey replied to Sink_Different's topic in General Discussion
Which you didn't, neither culture nor knowledge. And the humor part might have worked if it were the french part of the forums. Does the french part even exist or did it surrender the first time someone accidentally posted in english?* *See, not so hard! Nice try tho, i give it a 5/10.^^ -
Yes.

Halloween event?

This game should have a difference name.
Jethro_Grey replied to NiKuTa's topic in General Discussion
I do play them, although not as often as in the past. Blapping CAs or DDs never gets old. Loved Yamato and Montana back then, but things change and now it doesn't click with BBs most of the time. Have all the BBs except for Bourgogne and Shikishima, yet I haven't played most of them at all in the past year (Thunderer and Slava, Ohio only once or twice) except for missions, request on stream or in coop. When I play them, it's mostly fast BBs with squishy armor like Champagne and Gascogne, which play more like very heavy cruisers. I like the mobile playstyle, the bow in tower defense thing not so much. -
I started grinding IJN CVs on my alt-account a while back, and I played today a bit (to get the coal and signs from the daily missions, also need a 19point captain for OPs to farm CXP), and i haven't noticed anything like OP describes. My Ryujo works as usual more or less. The only thing different were the aiming thingies that were introduced with this patch. Which makes dumping surface boats even easier. Played 3 CV games in coop on my main account this evening to see what the fuss is about, and haven't found anything wrong. But then, my port UI is driving me nuts with heavy stuttering and freezes, while the alt-account is bug free.

Can't see anything wrong with that. That's why I play DDs and cruisers and the more BBs, the better. The only things wrong with this are, when the flying party pooper shows up and ruins my games...or the BBs on my team forgot to take their brave pills (or any pills for that matter) and run away the first sign of trouble. -
how do you stop with sierra mike
Jethro_Grey replied to Ashardalon_Dragnipur's topic in General Discussion
Why would a speed flag affect turning circle? When you turn, you lose speed anyway, and it all depends on the base values of your ship. A 5% increase will have a barely measurable effect, if any at all. Afaik, it does not boost acceleration or deceleration. -
It was mentioned that, some players have different DS screen (that even provides a SC or something). On my main account, i do get the old DS screen, on my alt-accounts, i don't get the DS screen at all. Any way to fix this? @Crysantos

Another week, another bump. -
That's dumb, why would WG screw over one part of their player base? Was that in the patch notes? Can't remember reading that.

This tier 6 dd left untouched for way too long.
Jethro_Grey replied to ARE_YOU_HUMAN's topic in General Discussion
That's a balancing factor. Those gun boat DDs are supposed to be played at range. If you buff their turret traverse, they would excel at any range in gunfights. -
You don't have to tho... The only thing that really irks me, is the limitation that requires me to play germa ships exclusively. Base XP mission is a tad bit annoying, but the rest is easy done in coop. Coopbis possible, so are OPs. Exactly. Not quite, as the entire chain is easily done in coop. The UU missions had the credits and FXP stinker requirements, which made them a horror in coop.

kudos US BBs - a event where you HAVE to spend money
Jethro_Grey posted a topic in General Discussion
Looking at the missions and armory in the NA client for this event atm. The directives will give you enough American tokens to get the first three bundles (camos and signals), but if you want that golden eagle camo for any of the ships or even the Florida, you will have to buy the random bundles for 1k dubloons per drop for a total of 64k dubloons, as each "bundle" drops 1.5k American tokens (except the Minnesota one). Alternatively, you can spend 400 Recruitment Tokens for 200 American tokens ( totally NOT worth it!). The first bundles are filled with useless stuff, not worth 300 tokens let alone 3k or 4k. It should be noted, that the last directive mission requires you to have Florida, Minnesota or Kansas to complete and get the 400 tokens. In my opinion, a total rip-off event, of which we had plenty, however up until now, it was always possible to get those "national flavor" camos - or at least some of them - without forking out a single penny. WeeGee went full Ebenezer Scrooge on this one, which we should respect. Following WGs example, i'll go Ebenezer Scrooge as well, and go buy sh*t on steam.- 78 replies

The answer to this is simple. Take the average WoWS whale, dangle some overpriced shinys in front of his face, with a large sign that reads: "...buy this...also pls ignore the much cheaper option over there...no, don't look over there...look at THIS shiny...now grab your credit card...good, good...focus, you entered the number wrong...sigh...again, and grab your glue bottle and take a good wiff...perfect! Thank you, valued member of this community!" ...and see the magic happen!

You can't get it for free at all, as you will have to pay for two stages. -
Is every TX battleship with sub-457 caliber underpowered now
Jethro_Grey replied to Itwastuesday's topic in General Discussion
Yes, under powered. As compensation for the lack of overmatch, WG should buff the reload of all BB guns below 430mm and before any modules and upgrades! Montana: 21 sec Kurfurst: 19 sec Conqueror: 20.5 sec Problem solved. -
You like gunboat DDs? Go for Khaba, you'll never have a boring minute in that boat. OT, my advice is, go Fletcher first, then Kitakaze. Kitakaze is the better gunboat and a bit OP. Fletcher is a well rounded jack of all trades, master of none.

Yep, that armor strip works against it when facing BBs. But seeing on stream how easy it was to yolo BBs, i'd say it's a balancing feature.

[Poll] Which "Daily Shipment" variant did you get with new WoWs update v0.9.9 ?
Jethro_Grey replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Good job WG. -
Take your time, tho! The 'AA does nothing to CVs' bug is in the game for over a year, so no need to rush this one. In fact, don't bother AT ALL!

Right, because 250k is such a bad result. The right way to handle FdR is, right click itvin port and choose the sell option. If not available, ignore it.

The snowflake/free container events, please stop doing them
Jethro_Grey replied to Yxkraft's topic in General Discussion
Speak for yourself. Also, WG already took care of that "knock flakes in coop off" issue of yours, cause now there will be an minimum XP requirement, and you can bet your ***, mist will never meet that in coop and will be forced to that in randoms. -
Derivative missions - are they meant to irritate people?
Jethro_Grey replied to StanleyHTweedle's topic in General Discussion
Family? Why are you putting up with such nonsense? Do you know how much keeping a family costs? They need clothing and food, and sometimes you have to waste time with them. Jesus man, think about the money and time you could save and spend on WoWS. Ok, i usually consult only for a large fee in euros, but i make an exception this time and offer you my professional advice for 2.5k dubloons instead. You have two options, either sell them on ebay and make small profit (how much will depend on, in which condition they are, i.e. well fed or not, aso.), or put them to work. There has to be a factory, store, landfill or mine of any kind nearby (coal, ore, uranium), where you can put them to work. You're welcome! Jethro_Grey - professional life and family counsellor Yep. Nope, he's right. Obviously, captain obvious! -
A bug? Nope, working as intended. Also, the only bug we have for over a year now, is the one where AA did jack to planes.
