What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Jethro_Grey replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
This was a very strange game. The whole match we had less caps and less ships, yet in the ned it looked like we can win. Two ships on each side, an half health Iowa and me on our side, a low health NoCar and a low HP D. Donskoi on the enemy side. I managed to sink the enemy Iowa and pull the scores in our favour, when our Iowa decided to ram kill the NC - despite being told NOT to. With the clock at less than a minute and the D. Donskoi nowwhere to be found i decided to cap. The Cruiser popped out of nowhere, but too late. All i need was ~20sec to finish him off, measly 20 sec -
Yes and No - some Cruisers may need a small buff. The main issue currently is a rather BB heavy MM and Cruisers tend to get nuked rather fast. With MM where you have only one CL/CA per side and the BBs and DDs share the remaining slots equally, you have a disadvantage in a AP CA. HE spammer profit far more from the current meta ( heck, even a large number of BBs shoot HE only). Still gonna buy the PE.

While i understand why some folks are mad about this ( though a bit of Dubloons would allow you to increase the Reserve...just sayin'), i don't think it justifies starting a new thread and necroing an old one.

Nicely phrased sir. ^^ Also, there's is no Spoon.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Jethro_Grey replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Played only two games today in my Drunkirk. The first was pretty good: 110k damage, 3 kills and a crap ton of cash. Of course it was a defeat, as our DD chased down a BB while the enemy DD was sitting in our cap and laughing his [edited]off. The second game in my Drunkirk was pretty shitty: 23k damage ( way to many 970dmg hits ), one kill. Of course it was a victory. We capped all three caps and the enemy team just pointed their bows towards us and sat there 10km from the caps away and shot HE until we had 1000 points. -
After a couple more games i can say that she's a good ship. Plays like an Izumo ( at least i play her like an Izumo ^^) - basically like a very heavy cruiser all ahead full and lots of WASD haxxors. Against equal Tier opponents, she takes much less damage than the Warspite when angled. Bayern, Warspites and everything above can really hurt her. BUT, despite her size she can brawl, and she's damn good at it not as good as the Bayern or New Mex though. Just don't do that against BBs that have Torps, will not work out very well. Tried to ram (ended three games ramming someone, works always as they don't expect it) a Bismark, but he turned in the last second and we had a knife fight, which i won somehow...8 Guns, point blank range...can hurt very much. Was asking myself why he didn't torp me 'till i realized Bismark doesn't have Torps. Her major weakpoints are her weak AA, her rather trollish dispersion and the fact that she burns. She burns a lot. And lot of players seem to know that as even Warspites shoot HE at me. Bastards. ^^ Ask your friendly CV for AA cover or sail with a Cruiser. Will keep you alive and don't hesitate to brawl when the situation allows it.

Dedicated captains for "Premium" ships or temporary assignation of the best suited captains from existing ships?
Jethro_Grey replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Both. While all Prems have dedicated Captains, on some of them the Captain is rather untrained as i use all but two as Trainers. -
Yep. And than i am the one who's getting reported and chatbanned for pointing out the truth.
-
For me neither, so i've downloaded it from the NA forums.

how many bought XP to skip this izumo
Jethro_Grey replied to U156dasboot's topic in General Discussion
It took me a while to get used to the Izumo, but when i figured out how to play her, it was a boat load of fun and the grind was over way to soon. I did however had to free xp the C hull, back then. -
So, real man drive BBs, eh? Well, then then aren't many real man playing this game considering how lot of BB captains actually play their d*ck substitutes. ^^ "Sniping" from the back, hiding behind chicken Mountain, bugging out at the first sight of enemy ships even though the enemy has fewer ships... The glorious master race of BB drivers has been dragged down by headless p*ssy equipped chicken.

releasing ships on NA server before EU
Jethro_Grey replied to Mr_Snoww's topic in General Discussion
What facts? You seem to be missing the point. And your post makes it clear that your psychology skills are even worse than your marketing skills. Releasing a product into a testmarket is usually done when the company ain't sure how well the product is going to be received. The data gained is used to make adjustments if needed, or just shelv the product entirely and prevents the company of mass producing things noone wants to buy. This evaluation phase takes a bit more than 7 - 9 days, so even if it would apply here, WG wouldn't be gathering much (reliable) data. I never understood why WG didn't release Mikasa on the NA server. Didn't know about the Blyska, but it's the same [edited]move by WG. And in the end it doesn't matter as selling stuff on EU and delaying it on NA is the same idiocy as selling ships or tanks on NA first and than on EU. Hope to see an indepth review of the Prinz Eugen from you once the NDA has been lifted. -
releasing ships on NA server before EU
Jethro_Grey replied to Mr_Snoww's topic in General Discussion
Aware of that and i also not going to pay double the price for a Flag ( and usually useless clutter). However, the WoT Shop is handled by the same guys that handle WoWS, and the discrepencies between the servers are far worse in WoT than in WoWS. EU usually has less options to buy and if we get the buy a tank bundle, it's significantly more expensive than on other servers. And to all that ask "does it matter who gets it first?", well it's not about that someone got it first. It's about that there's no logic explanation why one server should have it first. WG should opt for server equality instead of treating one server like it's cash cow while licking another servers asses in the hope to to increase its player/ customer base. Personally, i don't mind paying a few bucks more than other regions, as long as i get the same bundle at the same time they offer other servers. I payed twice as much for the Berlin quartett the last time it was on sale, because the Tanks were not available in the same Bundles the other servers got. Now we have the tanks bundled, yet those fucktards inflate the price artificially with useless crap. Marketing 101? Smaller Sample size? Surely not. I doubt WG has the slightest clue how Marketing actually works. By kissing one server populations [edited], they piss off players of another server and that's not the way they should handle things. The arguement that the can collect data and adjust things is also wrong as the ships are tested in the super test and than released. If they want a public test phase, then there are three other servers which they can release stuff and this increases the samplesize and allows them to collect much more data. So yeah, if there's one thing WGs marketing dept. is good at, is [edited]things up. -
releasing ships on NA server before EU
Jethro_Grey replied to Mr_Snoww's topic in General Discussion
You are right, but imagine the crapstorm if they would have pulled that stunt. It would have been a choice between pull the ImpNik from the game and piss off the owners, or piss off all other servers. In any case, they would have to deal with negative consequenses. -
releasing ships on NA server before EU
Jethro_Grey replied to Mr_Snoww's topic in General Discussion
The main issue is, that there are differences between Servers that make no sense whatsoever. Take a look in the WoT shop for all regions pls, the current offer for the Berlin quartett bundle. The second time within months in the shop, it's around 65€ in all shops except Eu where it gets bloated with equipment and Gold and sold for 100€. And this is a major improvement over the last time they were on sale as EU didn't even get the option to buy the bundle! Each of the tanks was sold for 40+€ while the rest of the servers could get the 4 tanks bundled for 60€. As i a collector, i give a flying [edited]whether a ship is good or not, i buy it anyways assuming the price is within my limits. The decision to sell Vehicles on one server ahead of all other makes no sense at all, and since there's no explanation from WG i assume it's done to kiss some 'murican asses and hoping they spend some $. Having local Marketing derps decide when to sell what is also a stupid move from WG. Let them make the decision what missions, events and community stuff they organize, but let the shop be global, with unified prices, offers and release dates. -
Any info on when Dunkerque goes up for sale?
Jethro_Grey replied to piritskenyer's topic in General Discussion
Actually, the Krispy Kreme is quite a good ship - when played carefully - on par or better than any other Tier V Cruiser ( except Murmansk and Konigsberg) - in my opinion that is. Haven't played that many games in her, but most of them where quite good and some worthy of the achievements thread. Originally only bought as "collectiors item" and for occasional "lets YOLO straight between those two BBs trips", this ship turned out to be surprisingly good, and when played with patience, she's the definition of DoT. -
Nice visual feature, but considering it's only visible in Port, it's nothing game changing.

Why not adding one more consumable to Tier VIII+ non-German BBs?
Jethro_Grey replied to Carmignac's topic in General Discussion
Yes pls, give my iowa and my Montana Smoke Screens - preferably the one from the Flint! On a more serious Note: how about not. German BBs are hardly OP as they something to counter their disadvantage - at least to some degree. -
This is already considered as a serious offense and will get punished with at least 2 reports and lots of childish leet talk like "stfu and l2p", "you already dead, stfu", "of course i snipe from far away, i'm a BB, i have long range guns dude, stfu".

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Jethro_Grey replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
My best result today and what made it worthy of this thread is not so much the damage ( despite being my new damage record in the Yamato), but the fact that i finally had a team that was actually knowing what they're doing. No hiding behind Chicken Mountain unless it was recover health from taking a beating, no DDs avoiding the caps like the plague. No pussying at the edge of the map. Team mates that support each other, one guy even took a salvo to save another player. DDs that not only contested repeatedly the caps but also provided smoke for Cruisers and BBs...and kept spotting. BBs that pushed without having to ask them, i pushed, they pushed along. Pls, let this be the new meta in high tiers. This game was amazingly fun. -
[NA] has the Dunkerque on sale as of today: 22,08€ for the standalone ship.
Jethro_Grey replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Considering i play all my ships very aggressively, i'm gonna play her like i play my Izumo: like a Baby Yamato. Very, very aggressively. Same here, i'll get her as soon she hits the shop. And from what i've seen, she doesn't seem to be that competetive, but how she really performs - with my playstyle - is a question answered when i sailed her in a couple of games. -

Jethro_Grey replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Gonna get her, i'd like to try the chicken playstyle 90% of WoWS players are showing. And she's the perfect ship for that, fast, no armour, no guns on the Stern plus she's french! On a serious sidenote, she's a beauty and certainly something different. Let me jump to the Premium shop and get her right away...oh wait, this ain't NA.
