We'll get them most likely...for a while... Still sad about the removal of the Bottle Sheep...
-
Well, once you enter you'll never leave like the crew of the Flying Dutchman...except you're not on sea...but in Paris...in an office... Reading the fine print can pay off sometimes...

HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEEN event maybe? Needs moar spooky maps to play on... ^^
-
This should be clear...should.^^

Take NoCar, Amagi, Colorado, Nagato, Fuso or Kongo out for a spin, go where cruisers are, get within 10km and delete them.
-
It's really sad that only few play the RN, seems the avaerage player has been scared away from that line. I still think that HE is not necessary, but since so many players are struggling, than i'd propose that they change the normalisation of the lower Tier AP shells so players get less bounces and make at least the tiers 2-5 more durable. A few more HP could help here.

That suggestion got shot down by WG due to adding complexity to the game, which is sad, as i like the idea. They said however, that they will rework the captain skills at some point.

Did the Dunkerque get nerfed in 0.5.13?
Jethro_Grey replied to Gulyabani's topic in General Discussion
No changes whatsoever to the Drunkirk, but i never was able to citadel a broadsiding Cruiser 5km away, but it makes up for it by citadelling BBs i haven't even shot at max range. So, everything is normal. -
GK is nice, Yamato is ok-ish, Montana too the rest is blargh. So, any idea when i'll be able to throw even more money at WG?
-
I like parts of that idea, but you should see a shadow-ish outline of the ship without any details, otherwise it would make the offensive use of smoke for DDs useless. I'd go even a step further and make the smoke clouds a bit bigger and the outer edge of each smokecloud is semi transparent and lets you "see" the shadow of the ship when it gets too close to the border. Also, friendly should also be invisible except for the icon and - when you enter the cloud - as shadow until you get to point blank range. And while i like the idea in general, i doubt that folks would be willing to adapt - not that they would have a choice in that scenario tho.^^ Still +1.

And this is what annoys me, not really played the line, still asking for buffs. I'm surprised too, considering the RN was the most anticipated line of all. It's sad to see that players have so get used to the HE spamming, that they are unable or unwilling to adjust their playstyle. Yes, the RN is more difficult to play, requires a bit more attention, yet it confirms that HE spamming is so much easier. I have hopes, that folks will get used to it as the RN is quite powerful. It would really make me sad, if WG would decide to make them like any other line to appeal to players who aren't willing to put a bit of effort into the game they playing. ---------- ------------- ------------------ ---------------------- And while we are at it, i'd like to share my opinion on the RN ships i played sofar(note that i free-xped the modules from TIII onwards, so i haven't played them stock): Tier I: ok-ish, really squishy Tier II: that one suxx Tier III: great boat, good guns, nice torps and at that tier it's rather easy to farm damage. Haven't played many games in it as i progressed fast due to flags and camo. Tier IV: ok-ish, in line with the other Tier IV CLs Tier V: better than Omaha, a bit worse than Furry Taco. Suffers mostly due to BB heavy meta, but nothing that can't be dealt with as long Islands are nearby. ;Make sure you're not the first or second that goes in and flank. Flanking keeps you alive and gives you lotsa damage. Tier VI: this one is a bit in a awkward spot. When facing Cruisers, you're the king, when getting caught by BBs or lit up for DDs you can't get rid off fast enough, you are likely to get spanked. Requires even more attention to the surroundings. Tier VII: this ship is amazing. Damage output is insane for a AP only boat and the gameplay is thrilling. It feels like sailing a Udaloi or Khaba at TVII. Despite having derped in a few battles, my average damage puts my TIX boats to shame. Can't wait to get to TVIII... Belfast: played only 4 games in it and in three of them i derped so hard ( ever slowed down to pop smoke and shell them from safety and than you start wondering why everyone hits you despite being in smoke and than you realize, you forgot to pop smoke in the first place? Yeah, twice now...). Still, it is as strong as folks claim it is, but for some reason i'm more cautious when playing her and that's when i do bad.

I'm not saying that the RN CLs are easy to play, i also do not deny the fact that they are as durable as a sheet of Kleenex on a rainy day - even more so than GER CLs. Folks just shouldn't bash them from the start because they don't meet their expectations or because they don't offer the same playstyle as the rest. And it's not even RN exclusive, we have those threads for every single line that gets introduced. I can't claim that i have already adapted, it might be that the RN suits my playstyle more than other CL lines, as with the smoke i have a tool that keeps me alive in situations i'd take a ton of damage or get sunk. In the end it doesn't matter what CL line a players sails in, you give broadside, you'll die. You angle, he shoots into your superstructure, you'll eat a ton of damage. That some players need more time to adapt than others is also clear to me, as i am one of them (still haven't figured out how to make the FdG work, despite being halfway through the grind). But bashing a line that soon? Yes, the RN is a bit more demanding, it's a bit more difficult to play but it's - in my opinion - the most rewarding one. It requires a bit more aggressive play, more situational awareness and a bit more experience with the game. It's odd that folks are used to hug islands and spam HE and don't seem to get it that the RN plays exactly the same. Unlike other lines, it doesn't have a "lets-get-easy-damage-by-setting-fires" option, and that's - in my opinion - a good thing. It adds diversity to the game, it makes a grand navy unique. My suggestion to get comfortable with the RN is: play them like RU DDs or lower Tier US DDs, make sure you have a Island nearby when your smoke runs out. Don't be where your team is, but don't over extend. The RN has even stock Bull$hit (TVII+) concealment, it can be so easy to get the flank of ships that are busy setting your BBs on fire. It is quite possible to oneshot damaged cruisers ( in the lower tiers), higher Tiers take massive damage from your AP. Remember that your doing DoT, except you get broadsides, than it's citadell party. The torps on these ships are quite good and with low concealment and smoke/ Hydro you can ambush BBs. The single launch option is a effin nightmare for DDs, you can cover their escape routes ( it's enjoyable - unless you are on the receiving end). Regarding the fair trade...well i wasn't actually a serious suggestion as i like the RN as it is. And i rather have not the one tool removed that keeps me alive and allows me to farm easy damage, in exchange for a tool that only provides a bit of fire damage. tl;dr: i do understand that the RN is a bit more difficult to play, but it's not bad...it's just different. Uhm, what? My stats are hidden because they are not supposed to be part of any discussion, yet there's always someone, who feels the need to drag them into it. And my experience from the past suggests, that mostly folks who have no or have run out of arguments pull that one. Not sure why some folks think that stats are the "your stats make your argument invalid card". See above.

Khaba needed a nerf and it got it.

It's astonishing how many "i can't play the RN ships, as i fail to adapt so i whine on the forums...in my salty tears thread of my very own" threads pop up. The RN CLs are fine (except the Tier II one, that one suxx) but it seems, it is too much to ask that players adapt. Whining is soooo much easier of course. But, if you want changes to those cruisers - fine! You want HE? Ok, i would support that, BUT remove the smoke from all of them. The rest of their stats (HP, armour, range) remains unchanged, it'd be a fair trade.

One week til Halloween - NA server already has missions and info yet nothing on the EU portal.
Jethro_Grey replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Perfectly aware of that. A lot of us is also aware of the fact that WG EU has always been on the slow side when it comes to announcements - they usually announce things one day in advance or the same day the event starts. They just seem to like their surprises... The fact that they haven't started the event with NA could mean a lot of things like a much smaller event, no specials aso. Or, they have a shorter run time, but better rewards. I guess, it's a surprise. -
KILL THE CHAT - WG INCLUDE THIS IN NEXT PATCH
Jethro_Grey replied to xER0h0UR's topic in General Discussion
Can't speak for others, but that's what i usually do. I ask politely for support, i tell them politely things like: that lemming trainin' to ONE cap on a four cap domination map makes it so much harder to get the caps back or that sitting in the back gets our Cruisers and DDs killed. This is constructive, and yet i get mostly responses like "stfu noob", than they do their thing and it's mostly a defeat. And it's a well deserved defeat at that and than i'm going to tell them "told ya so!". And, as i noticed this and last season in ranked, this "told ya so" does sometimes what it's supposed to do: it angers them and makes them think. It depends on the situation. Just because someone dies quickly, doesn't mean he is the only one who fucked up. There are a lot of examples (pls check the achievements thread as one example) where the team is partially responsible. Yes, it is annoying when one player does something stupid like yoloing into a group of enemys and than rages in chat and insults the team. -
They are good ships, they are just different. Try to adapt.

KILL THE CHAT - WG INCLUDE THIS IN NEXT PATCH
Jethro_Grey replied to xER0h0UR's topic in General Discussion
Nope. they lose because they do stupid things, asking them to not lemming train or to push a certain cap or whatever usually leads to better results assuming someone is listening. And if folks get distracted in a multiplayer game by a chatmessage, than they should consider playing something that doesn't involve other players. So, what did you do wrong when someone told you "told ya so!"? Must have hurt, being told that you and/or your team mates effed up, deep down knowing that the guy who told you that, was right. Did he make fun of you? Well, he seems to have hit a nerve, seeing that you came to the forums to complain. -
KILL THE CHAT - WG INCLUDE THIS IN NEXT PATCH
Jethro_Grey replied to xER0h0UR's topic in General Discussion
Hmmmm, no. Don't like being reminded of how you or your team mates screwed up? Oh, i like to remind my team mates how they screwed up! Lemming train to one side despite my request to not do the retard train and than get buttfucked or sandwiched? I told ya so guys! BBs sitting back behind chicken mountain and "sniping" than getting spammed by torps from a DD or a CV and/ or complaining that i refuse to provide aircover for them when playing a CV? Lol, i effin told ya so guys! I love to tell oxygen wasters "i told ya so", it's almost as satisfying as a victory and it may or may not motivate some (maybe only 1 out of 100k) players to actually use their brains. WG should never ever remove the chat for sunk players, infact they should remove the "mute" function asap! -
One week til Halloween - NA server already has missions and info yet nothing on the EU portal.
Jethro_Grey replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Considering Halloween is originally an Celtic harvest festival and became later an Irish(-christian) festival, i can see why it's not being used by WG as an EU-Event, as everybody knows that Ireland (and the UK) are located on the far eastern coast of 'murica. Which simply means, that all their base festivals are belong to NA. -
Those are Signals. And while i agree that the others servers get the better deals, it's not what this thread is about. Still, all my +1 to you.
-
Well, they could start with the Belfast, it's not as OP as i like it to be! They can't nerf them directly, they can do it indirectly and i assume it's going to happen at some point. While the ship seems very strong indeed, i don't think it's pay to win like the Premium ammo in WoT was before thy made it availabel for credits and thus for everyone.
-
Actually, according to a Dev Q&A, subs are now quite possible. And i'm very happy with that... And regarding the Kamikaze...with planes? No. You can however do a Kamikaze run with the CV itself, much more satisfying and yields immediate results.

Well, can't speak for others, but have installed a new Module on my ImpNik which needs testing. Also, i have a new flag which i would like to see ingame...so yeah, i may need to do quite a bit of sea-trialing in my ImpNik for the foreseeable future.

As stated in the patchnotes, quite a number of maps have different weather conditions now, including lighting. Me likes.
