Why they don't count teammate trajectory when making me pink?
Camperdown replied to seXikanac's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, bollocks. DDs are most of the time in direct harms way. Enemy DDs spotting them, radar cruisers within 10 or 12 km, planes coming your way, enemy torps, you name it. Any of these things can cause a DD to change course radically. You simply have no justification to add to this input load by spamming torps from behind. -
Not too much at start. Depends also on the map. With Lightning I can do some quick damage to enemy DDs, smoke up and go dark again. And get out of the smoke immediately after, as every man and his mother will fire at the smoke. Also, I can use torps at enemy smoke and yoloing cruisers and BBs. Not that I get much opp at cruisers as they die very quickly if the try to yolo. So the doing damage part only starts after 5 minutes or so. But if you have managed to stay in the center ring for the first 5 minutes you usually create significant advantage for your team. Very important however is to be as careful as you can in the center ring. Seek island cover, stay mostly at the outer edge of the ring and don't fire guns at anything except DDs and then only when the risks are acceptable. And get out when things get too hot and you can't survive.

Absolute bollocks. I always enter the center ring as quickly as I can and have little trouble staying alive there the first 10 minutes. I do usually play Lightning, which helps with low detect, many smokes, hydro to avoid torps and decent guns and torps. The only trouble is when your team either is scared out of their whit and does not support at all. Or they yolo in and get blapped. Then I may be forced to vacate the center, but then the game is usually already lost.
-
Bad advice. The correct way to play epicenter is to enter the rings with at least 6 ships. But then is when it goes wrong. After you have entered the rings everyone should stay safe. What generally happens is ships don't enter the rings asap, and the enemy team gets free cap points quickly. Or, once you are in the cap, ships expose too much, and get blapped. So it is a game of exquisite balance and skill, which is why so many players fail at this mode. In my DD I always go for the center cap and usually stay there for at least the first 10 minutes. But if you can't do that, your advice is correct, don't enter the center ring.

In addition to what's already been said: Shima is decent generalist DD with low detect range. I find I can contest caps in Shima to some extent. In Khaba you rob your team of a real DD and saddle them with a puny cruiser with very specific application.

(Lack of) Initiative to help teammates?

Just to go dark and then out of the smoke asap -
(Lack of) Initiative to help teammates?

It's not only smoke. Ships move sideways or back after spawn. They lemming to one side leaving you completely alone trying to defend a flank. I had a game this afternoon when 3 ships left me alone to defend the passage to our base alone against 5 enemies. I kept them back for more than 10 minutes then died in concentrated fire and they captured our base. It is beyond stupid -
You're not referring to the bot team, are you

They have the mobility of a shore battery, but they can sink. Why would I want that?
-
Yes. Nature makes them stop playing WoWs and switch to games that are still fun to play.

I love this thread. So happy I played just 1 ranked game this season

Never, ever have I seen that. Esp at T10

I see the same zombie behaviour in some players. It is very annoying. The weird thing is, I had a team yesterday that had the same movement pattern, but they did fight and got reasonable results. It included a 3 player div. In two brothers, 2 red ships came through the gap and could easily have been annihilated by 5 ships on the top left. I asked them 2 times on chat and pinged them, but no response at all. They went all around the island and did not respond to the tactical situation, even when my flank was overwhelmed. Weird

This. I have been burned out by this game once and did not play it for a year. Currently I sense a bit of that again myself. To enjoy WoWs you have to think what are your goals, not WGs. And you have to accept you cannot grind everything, cause it will burn you out. Stop your current grind or slow down. Play what you really enjoy and do what the Pizza says. Have fun!

Yes they are

How did you like the "Asymmetric Battles Mode" that just finished?
Camperdown replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I think it is a nice addition, as long as you are not playing bots. So I leave the queue after 2.5 minutes. -
Not enough players have reached 1st league yet and they are not playing all the time. You will have to wait for the peleton to catch up.

I am not sure how concerned you are about use of your private data, but I am disgusted with WeeGees latest stunt. In the article about the 5 year jubilee is this gem: Five Years of Victories! It's been five years since the release of World of Warships. To celebrate, we've prepared a little something for you to reminisce on your past combat achievements and triumphant victories! When did you play your first battle in World of Warships? How many kilometers have you covered? How many enemy ships have you spotted? You can discover the answers to these and other questions via the button below! My Records Interesting so I click the button. Up comes WASD keys with a little message on the left: "By clicking on this button, you consent to the publishing of your personal data on third party social networks. Our company is not responsible for this publication of your data, as this information is sent with your personal consent." (rough translation from Dutch). +&#@&(£ WG. Sorry mods in advance, but that is the only thing I can say about unethical and potential illegal trading practices trying to sell your personal data in a sneeky way. OC, I have not proceeded any further and would strongly advise all of you to do the same.

of course WG has no concerns for your privacy
Camperdown replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
That is one reason why I reacted strongly: Facebook, Google and all other unethical data harvesters will have no difficulty in linking your WG data to your real world identity. I deeply resent all privacy violation business models. -

I sincerily hope I am mistaken, and if I am, I do apologise. -
Don't bait people into another WG sucks frenzy

Impressive I assume you have premium and a bunch of signals mounted? I am asking because I am grinding fxp for Alaska now.
