If there is interest for this, I can post some stuff when I get back home. I am on a week's vacation now, so I don't have my computer and files with me.

Which ship (new - not yet released in WoWs) would you instantly buy and why?
Camperdown replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
The problem also is you never know how weird WG will implement it. A ship may have a stellar track record but be meh in WoWs. That having been said I have always been a fan of the HMS QE class, even though their protection was iffy. -
Lol not on paper, but I do check my stats online at least once per playing day to make sure I am not on a losing streak when I am grinding something awkward.

Wargaming, Please Fix The Spawn Mechanics In "Random Battles"

Eerrrrrrmmmm, I kinda like different spawning patterns Tho I do recognise that anything that strains 2 braincells is definitely beyond the current player base -

It seems quite unlike our dear WG to give you Florida for free -

If you mean for gold/real money the answer is, always has been and always will be: none. -
Sniper divisions fair play or match rigging ?

Man, are you serious? Your CV for once got back the grief you are dishing out every game and you are complaining. Some sense of entitlement. +1 for making the funniest op in quite a while -
I hate to say this, but the spreadsheet says you're having fun
-
Unfortunately I have the impression WG uses just one metric: does it make a profit? If they think it doesn't, you can pee off. They have communicated clearly they don't care about ops. My worry is they have a very limited understanding of their player base and don't value loyal customers very much. They seem to go for the quick money every time. It's like the tourist restaurants in popular cities: food is always crap because there is little repeat business. So just try to bring new customers in, serve them crap, rinse and repeat. We can complain until we are blue in the face, but they are not listening. So, we have to accept the crap they serve as a given and adjust or leave.

WoWs Becomes More and More Boring Grinding Game

What is wrong with WOWs and how to do it better
Camperdown replied to zengaze's topic in General Discussion
Yep the game is designed like this. Now you only need to take the next step and figure out how you can avoid getting worn out and being robbed of your enjoyment. I think WR is the most relevant metric, but you have to accept that you will still lose 40-45% of your games if you are good. I can still enjoy most of these lost games if the team is not insane. 10-15% of games your team is more busy sniffing glue than doing anything sensible. Those are the worst. If you then find yourself in a hopeless tactical position, it really sucks. -
WoWs Becomes More and More Boring Grinding Game
Camperdown replied to shogano's topic in General Discussion
Yep the game is too grindy. I burnt out 2 years ago and stopped playing for a year. My advice: - find some tiers and a couple of ships you enjoy playing, and play those for half of the time - choose your grinds. Don't do all the stuff, choose a couple of doable grinds and stick to them. I do 2-3 grinds at any one time, be it ships or missions or whatever. Figure out which ships are best for you, and grind those focused. Don't grind all lines to T10 - if you feel burnt out, stop for the day In short, figure out what you like in the game and stick to that. Don't let WG get to you, it is their business model. GLHF -
Now I did look. I stand corrected Sir

OK, I will explain. Git gud

BB main I guess? I haven't looked.

Hi, I am trying to log in but my client seems to not have updated. Anyone else have this problem? Know how to fix this? Edit: client is now updating, thread can be discarded.

My favourite DD overall is Lightning. I find her quite effective in the anti-DD role as well. Anything I can't handle I outspot, so my teammates can take on the gunboats, if they have any inclination to take on DDs.
-
Only DDs should generally cap center ring. Other ships just the 2 outer rings. BBs especially after first 5 minutes on the opposite side to the red concentration and using island cover. Cruisers should dip in and out 2 outer rings dynamically.
-
What ships do you use for anti-DD work?

Manfred Von Richthofen is completely unhealthy for the game.

WG is desperately seeking it's WoWs equivalent of golden ammo to sink this game too. Admit it, they are getting close -
Are you still at 0, Pizza?

In my experience it is valuable to advance quickly in a DD at the start of the game to help control as much of the battlespace as possible. You know where you will make first contact with the red team, usually around the caps. At that point the chess game begins. At that point the objective is to have first contact (spot and open fire) as much on your terms as possible. That means with fire superiority on your side. For that you need to know as much the enemy disposition as possible. Also, surprise is always helpful. So yes, it is important to try to gain advantage in the first three minutes. But you gain that advantage neither by yoloing in nor by advancing slowly. It is by advancing quickly and having first fire exchange on terms favourable to you. Too many teams fail by not being able to achieve that in a mutually supportive yet not suicidal way.

Why they don't count teammate trajectory when making me pink?

With all respect, it seems you are still missing the point. DDs are up front doing crazy moves because you 'want them on that wall'. Life is intense riding shotgun, so you should not fire torps from behind if a DD might move in their path. Period, no exceptions. So I don't care if you have 20 km range torps that you are itching to use. Police don't fire guns at perps in crowds of people for the same reason: the risk of collateral damage is too high. You only fire torps if you have a clear shot. Your torps, your responsibility.
