Would it be so hard to give bots a skill level halfway between the current sillyness and the earlier too good for most level?
-
Imo there are too many islands in most maps.

The issue has now disappeared with me.

Oh, they did know what hit them and cussed your asses for it

I find RN DDs with many smokes, good concealment and decent guns and torps best in epicenter.

I have asked myself the same question. After some reflection and observation I have come to the conclusion that most of the cowards are simply not good enough at the game. If they try anything else they die like flies. In a number of battles I have begged one of these campers to advance and help. Sometimes when they did, they were simply sunk within one or two minutes. So I have come to the conviction it is mostly not cowardice, but lack of competence.

Well I have to say the occurrence of double CV games at higher tiers has noticeably increased. It used to occur very rarely, now it happens every other day. Strangely enough in the waiting screen for battles, it shows hundreds of BBs waiting but not a great many of CVs (perhaps half a dozen). This creates the impression that WG has changed a setting so that double CV games at higher tiers are allowed quicker than in the past. Imo this would be a very undesirable thing. A single CV in a game is an annoyance only if said CV does not decide to focus on you. A double CV game completely changes the dynamic of the battle. Ensuring you are not too exposed to planes becomes an overriding concern as you may be focused by 2 CVs at once. Not only does that insure a rapid return to port, but it also means you let your team down. As a result, double CV games are stale, frustrating and annoying. Could you perhaps check whether the MM settings for higher tier CV games has indeed changed? On a related note: double CV games at T4 are just as frustrating. I repeat my plea to discontinue this MM. It makes T4 a griefer tier and WG a griefer company.

Although ofc you are right, one observation: most reports, at least from me, are not because someone plays badly. It is because they play avoidably or purposely badly. I never report people for being simply bad, we have all been there and everyone has their bad moments. But some players just grief their team on purpose or play antisocially in a game where your team depends on you. In bad cases like that I report them.

I am surprised you did not have to remove the entire thread

Ahem you seem to be new here and don't know the residents yet

Why does the WG not take player statistics into account?

This would be my preferred MM. Ofc you cannot expect too much of it, or waiting times will get out of hand. Some flexibility from the MM system would be required f.e. during low hours. But even if you would simply separate the bottom third of players from to top third, that would be a big improvement. -
Play ranked they said, it will be fun, competitive they said

I think this is the fundamental dilemma of playing WoWs. In its essence it is a strong and interesting game, but Wedgie is mucking it up badly. Should I stay or should I go? -
Thanks for all your replies. I have the impression that T8-9 is just a bad place for cruisers to be. Most of them can be blapped on sight by 16 or 18" gunned BBs from across the map. And the few that can't are mostly big RU phantasy cruisers that are uninteresting to play. As a result you are forced into very defensive gameplay, or you have to accept that every other game some '666_Sniper' in his Mushi sends you back to port early.

It is all about team play. So you are basically screwed DDs need to cap and survive as well as they can. For that they need support, so there you go. As over 50% of the players have no clue how to play the game, it's a crap shoot. Interestingly, this is nothing special and should not be a problem. It shows the awful state of the player base

Happy new year all of you. I hope that you and your loved ones will do well and be in good health!

Just 1 wish? Better MM separating good players from bad
-
Yes. They will try to make money on premium subs. If the game dies in the process that's collateral damage.
-
WG has decided it will rather break the game than give up on subs. So we will have only a temporary reprieve.

Nice, TU.

I run a lean setup with just a few signals and I never buy any. Yes, you may have a bit of a disadvantage, but it is smaller than the differences between ships and ship types. You just have to adjust your play. You don't need to have the most powerful ship to win. You need to read the battle situation correctly. The game has always been about situational awareness and positioning. You can't buy that with signals.

This. WG just mucks around then blames its customers or implies we should just be happy with the crap they feed us. It feels so 1989*. * Footnote for younger players: in 1989 the Berlin wall fell. It spelled the end of communism, a failed ideology where the party decided what was good for you and what you could or could not consume. Belarus was part of the Communist empire and still seems to have that ancient mentality.
-
Ah, I see we are a vocal minority again
-
And we warned you earnestly early on that subs were not going to work. So you could have avoided all that work and made the game better. But WG does not listen does not care. Your bad

I make it a good habit on this forum not to enter into repetitive discussions. If people have no intention to listen or engage in meaningful exchanges, it doesn't make sense to waste my time, effort and good humour to talk to a brick wall.
