This is a game where the journey is more important than the destination, and in addition there is no end goal. Also, in view of the observed behaviour of WG, anything may happen to the game which may change the experience, so far often for the worse. So yeah, take your time to learn, and as importantly, to enjoy the game at each stage. Of course, having some nice high tier ships and premiums is part of that enjoyment. But game play at high tiers is not more fun as it is often static sniping and camping. So, my advice is to look for the sweet spots in the game, such as some excellent T6, 7 and 8 ships, ship classes that suit you and some premiums that work for you.

Somehow I don't feel I am having much trouble with the new commander skills. Yeah, people play stupidly and sometimes you get devstruck, but it doesn't feel too different. If everyone camps it gives me opportunity to cap and get map control (I am DD main).

Respeccing is waaayyyyy overpriced normally. Just one of those annoying WG money grabs that fuels my distrust in the good faith of that company.

My intention is not shaming at all. The Hindy did well and I do not blame the others for the loss. It just happens. I sank a DD, a cruiser and a BB. The caps were both solo.

Exhibit A: I work my butt off, kill 3 ships, cap 2 times and do 30K damage. Still I am comfortably outfarmed by a Hindy who keeps his star. Not the right incentives.

Apparently. He certainly did not cap anything. I am not saying he did not do well, it's just that this encourages farming to keep stars.

Two cheers. I think the new system actually isn't bad. I like the interface OK. It is fairly easy to use. The recommendations are helpful, though I won't follow them in every case. Nice to get 1K gold and hey, we have free respec and a 90% discount on switching commanders. Also, many people complain it's a nerf, which it is. But everyone is getting the same nerf, so you're not worse off. What gives me a bad taste though, is the shameless money grab. The silly amount of XP you need to grind to get the last 2 points for your commanders.

How will y'all handle the automatic respec? Use it as a starting point or opt out?

If you have below 50 or 52% WR I would not bother with gold because it is much more work to get the extra rewards.

I like radar Mino too Having cruisers with and without radar does bring some variation in play styles. However, at the start of a game I check the enemy team for radars, not for anything else

Maybe this is not the right question. More important in my view is: how can you make the chance that you get better support from your team than the Smaland gets from his team as high as possible.

Nope. BBs have the lowest skill floor. If you are incompetent you will farm most damage in a BB because you survive a bit longer. As there has been an influx of new players who are clueless, they play the class in which they are least hopeless.
