So, on 18-2 the free respec ends and you have to assign your commanders etc. Just to be sure: as I understand it, it makes sense to have one high point captain for each nation, and assign him to a silver ship you play frequently. You can then use this captain for basically all your premium ships of this nation, unless you want different builds for various ships. Is this correct and what you will do?

Dis. I can't for my life understand why BBs keep farming other BaBBies while (radar) cruisers are spotted. Earlier today I had a game where a Seattle was dominating a cap behind an island. A DM on my team was so scared he did not even dare to get into radar range. After 10 minutes the Seattle did not care to shelter behind the islands any more. He entered the cap in full sight and lived for several minutes. Any BB could have devstruck him but nobody even bothered What's wrong with these people?

I have seen many games lost simply because one team does not contest caps. Is it because they are patatos or because they don't cap? Two sides of the same coin.

Correct. It is impossible to play for a good result because your team behaves so erratically.

I find that my WR has improved a lot since I watch my own team more closely than the enemy and adjust my play accordingly. However I find it quite impossible to adjust to the sheer madness one sees too often these days.

In addition, capping also puts pressure on the enemy team, forcing them to risk more or make mistakes.

OTOH ignoring caps can very easily lose games. I think categorical statements about capping are unhelpful. Caps are part of the game and should be included in your goals during a game. The problem is many players cannot process more than one consideration at the same time. Thus it is: muh, must cap. Boom. Or: muh, must farm damage. Camping at the map edge. Muh, must push. Boom. It is a fairly complex game and over half the player base isn't very good.

Would over 10K games and under 40%WR not also contain a significant number of accounts that use bots? E.g. they have used bots for a significant % of their games in order to grind and play some real games with the loot. I always have the suspicion that low WR/high volume accounts employ bots.

I find that the best way to involve the bigger ships is clearly indicating what you plan to do what is in their interest. Thus: I go to A and will spot; or I will dip into C to provoke radar makes it clear there will be some juicy targets for them to shoot at. And it signals you will be useful for them so it might pay to keep you alive.

I would never take priority target on any DD, except perhaps gunboats without smoke. When I am spotted in a DD I assume everyone is shooting at me, I don't need to know the subtle difference of 6 or 8 reds shooting at me Edit: otherwise I largely agree with the proposed builds, esp for the first 10 points.

That's why I only play DD in ranked.
