I will certainly go for silver, then decide if I want to go for gold.

If you make the punishment too harsh, you overshoot. People are sometimes afk because of legitimate issues, disconnects or computers behaving oddly. I myself sometimes (approx 1 in more than 100 games) have issues that confound me: bad connection, battle not loading, antivirus software suddenly draining resources). That can happen and should not carry draconic punishment. So some measure of repetitive or frequent delinquency should be taken into consideration.

Missing number for "Win battles" mission
Camperdown replied to Zigiran's topic in General Discussion
I assumed one. -
It is imo important that AFK players have no gain from the game as well. So no win credited, no star no XP no silver. And some moderate but inconvenient punishment too.

Do you ever win a game after you lost your destroyer and enemy has some?
Camperdown replied to evcro's topic in General Discussion
Depends on the composition of the rest of the team. If enemy team has competent CV and radar cruisers, the outcome is quite open. I have recently rediscovered radar Edinburgh, which I find surprisingly capable and fun to play. I don't fear any DD in Edin with radar, they have all the reason to fear me -

If you enjoyed the game previously, I would say give it a try. But it's still WG, so there is annoying stuff.

Should respec-ing be free? Montization is the end of this game
Camperdown replied to Iskarioth's topic in General Discussion
It does not need to be free, but as with so much with WG, it is badly overpriced. It should be at a quarter of the current normal price. -

How much elite xp does it cost to raise him to 6 points? -
I agree it is situational. What I often see, though, is that the ships on the stronger flank hang there too long while their other flank is being wiped out. So if there are 2 unmatched flanks what ideally teams should do is: - the weaker flank switches to defensive and tries to survive as long as possible and do as much damage as they can - the stronger flank tries to wipe out the enemy weaker flank as quickly as possible What often goes wrong is that the stronger flank takes their time and just stays safe. As a result the enemy team wipes out their flank quicker and then occupies the center of the map and B cap. And win the battle. So the stronger flank needs to push early and also start moving to the center as soon as they can, which is when the enemy weaker flank has suffered their first losses. I always cringe when I see the strong flank of my team hug the border and take their time to win their flank. They feel so comfortable and happy they will lose us the game.

What is your "exit strategy" with the free Captain respec ending in less than 2 days away?
Camperdown replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Generally I think we have not had enough time to fully evaluate the new system. Myself, I think I have only half discovered what are the right choices. So much depends on your personal play style and preferences that I have not been able to fully grasp what to do for a number of skills and ship types -

It says changes in the description, not in the skill itself. There has been criticism that the description of the skills was unclear. It would seem the mechanics stay the same for now. -
Oh, forgot one point: spot for your team. That is an essential virtue for DDs.

At T8 it becomes easier because Lightning has low detection so stealth torping and detection becomes easier, but you get more radars too. Basically your challenges are the same for us all. I don't know how you play but I would expect the following might help: - become slightly more cautious in your final approach. Enter the cap carefully anticipating a quick exit if needed. Don't try to stay in a cap in the face of heavy opposition but run. The RN short smokes are really helpful to quickly disengage and circle back to try again. - try to figure out before you enter a cap whether you have better support than a potential enemy DD. If you have meagre support, don't push. - try to enter the cap in such a way that if you smoke up a teammate can still spot the enemy DD if he has fired. - RN DDs have quite good firepower. But always try to have support to minimise your own HP loss.

What I find particularly annoying is players pressing the Well Done key when a teammate is killed. What kind of childish immaturity is behind that I cannot even begin to understand

Team damage tracking system is laughable
Camperdown replied to callumwaw's topic in General Discussion
WG does not take reports on team damage as they say they notice that directly from the server and take appropriate action. -
