In addition to your useful points. If you play DD correctly (hunt enemy DDs, spot, contest caps), you will on average do mediocre damage. No good player will argue that a DD player who is good at those things is playing badly. Yet your PR will show as only average.

Interestingly enough I sometimes see players that are useless far at the back, or out of position. You ask them to help, they respond! They actually close and then die instantly. In the final ranking board you see they score an impressive 150 base XP. They were not being useless, they just are absolutely useless

It is also a numbers game. Many people will not fall for their schemes, but enough will. And so they earn money. A decent company will earn money by providing a good product, WG earns its money by preying on human weaknesses. They are scum.

I look at just one thing: recent solo WR. Recent meaning last year or so. If you take total WR it may reflect a lot of legacy.

Ranked battle in loop, red team 2 radars we none. I go for C cap, red Z and Marceau in there. Z is spotting me with hydro. They get cocky, Marceau thinks he can kill me. He eats 1 torp, finish him by gunfire. Z tries a bit later, his hydro is out and he is spotted by teammate Gearing. Kill him with gunfire. Republique gets into my cap, too close, I hit him with 5 or 6 torps, finish with guns. Conquerer gets into the cap, sails through it, as he appears from behind eats full spread of torps. At end of game, do a bit of target practice on Petro, but our Yammy kills him in the end. 168K damage, 4 kills. Sure, enemy team made mistakes, but this was one satisfying game

Agree with earlier posters. Create a ticket on the website. This is one thing WG does take seriously, so this kind of crap gets acted on. Mind you, you will get a rather woolly general reply, but it gets logged and acted on. If you want a more direct response, tag one of the WG employee community managers here on this forum. I play UK DDs mostly and aggressively contest caps. After I have usually killed the opposing DD that extra 2.8 to 3.5K health makes all the difference in the rest of the game. With it I have maybe 5-10K health left which is a very different proposition from 2-7K. It means I can still finish off low health reds with my guns if opportunity arises.

You get less flak for making mistakes because everybody makes them so you play better relatively to others and don't get focused by buttholes that often.
