My point is not that you need to fix it all, but that the current level of unresponsiveness is obviously counterproductive. Small steps in the right direction are likely to have a good positive effect. F.e. many players are happy with brawls. The appreciation for that gives a markedly different tone of posting. A few more small steps could change the atmosphere. My point also is: the effect may not be immediately measurable in profits, but would extend the life cycle of the game.

I understand that the forum is a minority, but 300 responses are 1% of the EU player base and a lot of them are veterans. It is very unlikely that this sentiment is not shared in the larger player base. Also, forum members are connected, and their sentiments will spread. It is not scientific, but you can't ignore the negativity that exists. It must harm WG in a non-trivial way.

I may agree that hunting DDs has become less central in CVs tasks. However, in some cases the CV still must chip in at anti-DD work imo, that is when a DD is on the lose and can't be countered by green DDs or cruisers soon enough. Then it is essential the CV helps in spotting etc.

I also like brawls and play them quite a bit. It seems much more free of the normal aggravation of randoms etc.

2 CVs per team at T4 is simply criminal and I can't understand why WG insists on continuing it

I think this is a big part of the problem. They have become so detached from their player base they don't even pretend to care anymore.

My best guess is: WoWs was developing well and showed earning potential, so they took it away from the developers and gave executive control to the sales people to milk it dry.

Well, I don't know about you, but when I started playing WoWs, I was delighted at having found a nice naval wargame. I played for a while and did not notice the fun becoming less and less and the grinds more stressful. So I burnt out and stopped playing for a year. Then when I returned I realised the nature of the game and WG. But that was only after I was sucked in once. I imagine a lot of players having similar experiences.
