    Yolo Emilio AA nerfed HARD

Yep. Historical realism is fundamentally absent in sub implementation. WG position: no problemo

    Have submarines become irrelevant?

Hmm, sounds like WG: defying any logic. I think he is onto something

    Superships in Randoms Imminent

Strange, but it looks like that from the outside, no? But I don't think it's that. They are desperately trying to make financial targets that are incompatible with a normal, healthy game that brings in fair, but not extraordinary revenues. So they are in a constant rat race to come up with new features that will sell more stuff, new types of ships and loot boxes. What I suspect is true though, is that the top execs don't give a rats bottom if this maltreatment eventually kills the game. So what we see is a continuous series of poor decisions that are meant to boost revenues, but which make the game worse and less fun.

    Plymouth or Ragnar?

I have some steel itching in my wallet. I am contemplating either Plymouth or Ragnar. I am a DD main but also like cap contester/support role in CL. Ragnar lack of smoke and high detect range don't recommend to me. Plymouth Swiss army knife. Any advice?

    Skip Bombers

It was uncommon, not used by carrier aircraft and made the bomber relatively vulnerable. I appreciate your attempt at accuracy, but the world's warfleets were not exactly decimated by skip bombing. And for good reasons. If you can come up with examples where major warships were sunk by skip bombing, I may change my perspective. By your logic, Dutch airstrikes will have an upgrade soon for guided glider bombs. God forbid

    Skip Bombers

What I also dislike about skip bombers is that they have no basis in reality. They have just dreamt up some gimmick that never existed and that is detrimental to game experience. Why?

Bravo WG (Satan container drop rates, CV spotting)

They have already made that clear: ram them down our throats in randoms. They are making small steps in the right direction, but the leopard will not change its spots.

    Question about waves and currents

In a bit of a sea they did behave like that. Gunnery on DDs has always been hard because of that. Even on larger ships it was challenging. Before the introduction of effective fire control equipment in the early 1900s, maximum effective range was 2,000 to 3,000 yards due to 2 factors: the movement of your own ship in the water and the movement of your target ship relative to your own during the time of flight of the shells. Ships would roll, pitch and yaw in the waves, throwing off your aim. The first innovation in gunnery to compensate for that was called continuous aim: following the target in your sights by adjusting the elevation and bearing of your gun all the time. After the introduction of optical sights in the 1890s, continuous aim was first used systematically by captain Percy Scott in 1898. This increased the hitrate in battle practice (at 1500 yards!) from about 30% to about 70-80%. This was the first step in the gunnery revolution of the early 1900s. However, DDs (and also small cruisers) were notoriously bad gunnery platforms because they were so lively. So hitrates from DDs was quite low in a seaway, and gunnery ranges for DDs remained quite low until the introduction of stabilised DCT on DDs in the 1920s and 30s. The problem wasn't fully solved even then until the computer age well after WW2. Look around for some films of ships in heavy seas on internet. You may be amazed at the spectacular movement of even large ships in a bit of sea.

Is Andrew Cunningham worth the coal? When I look at his special skills I struggle to see his benefits for DDs and CL.

Should I play Ranked while roaring drunk?

Off topic: you are an evil man

Coal: Which ship should I get?

No, but it is the right answer. With your number of battles and WR you will enjoy your games more and have the opportunity to learn the challenges of the game more at lower tiers, say T6-8. You don't have to, but it is a well meant and sound advice.

Selfish play in Narai makes it not worth playing

The way to do this properly is going north of all but 1 island. To keep contributing to shooting the bots until Missouri is dead. Then you go full speed to the CV and you are still comfortably in time to catch the DD coming out of the harbour. Best not close the DD too much, alter course drastically when DD has had first opportunity to launch torps (which it will) and prio cruiser over CV next to minimise damage to your ship and preempt the cruiser from launching torps. After all 3 are dead, max speed into harbour, you actually survive better if you get close and do more damage. Once you get the rhythm of it right, it becomes easy.

Selfish play in Narai makes it not worth playing

It is quite interesting. Narai when played correctly is a guaranteed 5 star win. But: - too often several ships go for transports and CV, so own convoy enters harbour unprotected and loses ships - ship with convoy stay out of harbour, exposing transports to enemy fire - BBs go for transports, when it is best done by a cruiser - ships going for CV die to the DD or shoot at the CV before the cruiser, losing valuable HP - Ships stay back and don't enter harbour - ships stay at far end of harbour and don't close with enemy warships Funny but a bit frustrating

Which Stats are Indicative of a Good Player?

Heh. F7 for me is so synonymous with noob players that I hesitate to use that key if someone really desperately needs to spot

Which Stats are Indicative of a Good Player?

Slight amendment: it is not to not die at any cost. It is to only risk dying if the odds are favourable for you to survive and to achieve an important advantage, such as kill a red ship (preferably a red DD).

30 minutes waiting in ranked gold qualification

I sometimes think silver games are just that little bit less terrible and annoying than bronze. Also depends on which sprint it is. Last sprint was horrible. SOS!
  22. Camperdown

30 minutes waiting in ranked gold qualification

A rather uncomfortable number of players are showing an antisocial or very unskilled play style. Lemming train to the uncontested cap, radar cruisers moving away from the enemy, camping at the uncontested cap, not moving against a weak enemy flank. All kinds of unnecessary, stupid or cowardly behaviour that causes entirely avoidable losses. If you have a couple of those in a row I get stressed. I play DD and actively contest caps and hunt enemy DDs. I do that pretty well, with a high fifties WR. If I am risking all and am casually let down by lazy campers and dodgers, I can get salty. Sorry, I am just human.

30 minutes waiting in ranked gold qualification

No. It's only the second sprint of this season, so few people have made it to gold yet. It's basically your own choice whether you want to wait a bit more or not play ranked for a week or so. Next sprint there will be enough people in gold.

What new tech tree lines would you like to see in 2022?

None please. So much other stuff needs urgent attention.
