what setting have you set when out of arp ships? whenether I use english/national the arp voiceover in arp ships just overwrites it [hint hint to WG, maybe add national-with-arp voiceover option so different arp ships would have their own voiceovers ]

I always go to HE from torps, just a habit... even when Iwanted t throw AP onto that paper USN cruiser because overpenning a cruiser with 127mm AP sounds so ridiculously fun xD

so today I have finished retrainign the captain on my kagero [bought the ship and started retraining my only 15p cap for her [out of fubu] only because at that time arp takao mission was t9+ >.>] and I must say difference is huge first match after finished retrain: I swear that double striek was accidental - I just threw a torps into smoked benson and a moment later got good aim on very low hp udaloi and it just happened that torps and shells have hit nearly in same time xD -
well I have weird feeling that hydrosearch values are still added ontop of proximity autospot as I have seen bismarcs/kurfursts hydroing me up from 6-7km by now, and this is basically the range I need to fall back from them for to go invisible again which becomes serious number bu this point, right? radars though.... well I'm glad there is no BB with radar in game xD [and for now I really want to get those F3 torps on my kagerou ;-;] PS. I know how to make spreads and I haven't launched a point-on-indicator spread for like years by now - and in few cases I regretted because I was placing torps expecting dude to dodge, while he kept straightline sailign and all of it came after his stern xD

bismark may be in need of charging, but if you are only one defending cap against group of bismarks [as a DD] with smoke being the only cover you can ever hope for, then this hydro is basially what makes you fried toast and one could think that it was DD that was meant as a counter to BB right? hence mind you, I warned that I am not a valid person for objective view of german BBs as I'm still kinda salty after all thsoe encounters [way too many] when bismarks were delivering my engines back to me without me having any real chance to do anything about it

I was avoiding this thread by whole day in fear of another flamewars going on here, but I must say it is al lvery well thought thread, which I can actually agree to an extend of my experience [with both CVs and DDs] -
well in my cases I'm using stock kagerou torps [10 km sixty-something speed] and I am seeing something similar to what he described waaaay to often but then I am yet to grind to f3 and I can't wait to get them.... but while sonar may not be much helpfull to such bismarc in dodging the torps themselves, considering the range of F3 torps, to use them efficiently I will often land in the range where tapping sonar will light me up, which is lil tad bit more frustrating than BB evading torps by turning when blinker pops up

for this topic as a mainly DD player I cannot claim objective opinion on the matter, as some bismarcs have got recently alot on my nerves personally I'd take away that hydro from them and that would be it

except the cases when you see him starting to turn in the very last moment making torps to miss, you see at this tiers with the speed of IJN torps, their detectability range and battleship maneuverability, I am seeing this scenario way too often - I do not mind when BB outplays me in the psychological warfare of prediction, but I do mind when he is able to dodge the torps when he starts taking actions only when torps are within his detectability range haven't USN ones got their already?

depends on brackets we wil get in season 6 as they seems be constantly changing and then it is hard to tell really without revamped ships being released yet

overmatch is a mechanics bypassing bounce check, and HE shells do not make bouncecheck at all so if HEAP skill upgrades HE shells I'd find it unlikely for them to sudenly start making bounce-checks -

remember that citadel hit is nothing more than full shell damage potential beign dealt - I may be out of date but last time I checked HE shells on most battleships had much less damage potential than ap ones? -
when I need to give enemy ship enought lead for it to start running out of screen I just zoom out a lil bit

recently I have survived in kagerou a gearing torp hit amidship - was surprised as crap as for the forst moment seeing 5 torps in a spread I was kinda sure it was shima torp, but later on I have realised gearing was on that bearing and that if it was shima torp I'd be dead from it I'm not sure if the claim of IJN DDs [of WW2] being "underdogs" in real life is 100% true though.... one thing I can say for sure, is that irl those oxygen torpedoes were so scary thing, that some USN commanders were goign full paninc mode on the very sighting of a destroyer making manevuer suggesting torpedo launch as for playing underdogs in the game - as long as I can make it work, I don't mind all that much on being "underdog" - unless that "underdoggyness" goes so deep that is making me unable to enjoy trying to do anything meaningfull in the battle

I like winning, I love winning, but I am rarely in position to be able to influence much for said winning if all the rest of the team is a bunc hof derpy people and thats the problem of being obsessed on someones stats in a TEAM BASED game -
actully I think it'd be quite oposite I mean from the stats I have seen it is clearly visible to me that akizuki is no solo ship, and personally I'd not grab ship that is not solo-efficient into random without div - rankeds or team battles is the whole other story, as - from at least as far as I am up to date on stats the only place where akizuki has potential to shine is teamworked operations with bigger ships - and only cases where you can expect such are - divisioning with a friends, rankeds, team battles

overally good analysis but I'd just want to add a thing here description says that it adds a counter of how many ship is aiming at you it is not the same as how many unspotted ships are there within you detection radius - it just say how many of them have "locked" onto you actually it may lead to tactics of non-locked shots for 100% not-expected salvo especially from ships that are stealthy enought to sneak up onto people in current state of a game in most cases when you catch fire, repair it and get set up on fire again is indeed very hard to play out anything usefull - but with this skill? brah you do not even realise how much it buffs a performance in such cases XD you just made my day will deffo give such captain to my katori XD no matter how they stack +3% -6% won't give you same fire chance [ok this may be sensitive to order of applying modifiers if 3% stayed additive and 6% being multiplicative, but then I don;t think that there is any ship in the game for which 6% of its fire chance would give said 3% with or without demo expert lol when was your last match? sounds like nearly a year ago xD good joke mate, good joke hint: battleships [yeah battleship requires much less brainpower to perform decently] and your sister - assuming it is not made up history - must be very lucky personto achieve such winrate with these ships by following these isntructions as it is actually quite oposite to what you want to do with those ships oh so maybe I won;t be outrunning my smoke on reverse gear? ah wait my reverse spees is 18kn... darn -

the amounts of buffs to CVs in one package makes me wondering if it's really WG doing as for DD player mainly this "keen intuition" sounds little bit opeish - if you want to efficiently play them sneaky torpedoboats you have to get close, and odds for you being closest are quite big - and indicator for enemy team that closest enemy ship is on widely different bearing than spotted ships is clear indication of destroyer being there. as in first thought I deemed that sit awareness counter a funny little thing I agree that it may give a little bit too much inteligence on enemies for it's cost as from my adventure with CVs I can totally claim that fiery takeoff will be a must have skill for me - as I tend to try being closer to frontline than further [to optimise travel time of planes] being set on fire when derping a little bit to close and get spotted is a great problem... also in situations where my escorting ships are bunch of derps themselves and they die before my first strikeforce reloads and I find myself trying to run away from pushin half of enemy fleet - if I could be continuing my aircraft operations thats a huge boost to situation that was happening quite often actually -
so just like 90% of BB players in randoms and 75% of bb players in ranked battles below first league approx 50% of bb players in first league can't tell for premiere as I'm not sure If I had ever enought nerve to get that high just to put it into perspective - when I am going into battle as a battleship soon after few matches in IJN DD, battleship gameplay feels like a walk in a park, and at the moment being LAST thing IJN DDs need is further nerfs, and also I agree that current gun characteristics of main battery guns is far from something that could be called "gunboat" as for turret traverse speed - captain still in retrain so it may be influencing it but on my kagerou I have started joking that I the ship is malfunctioning as turrets seems to be rotating - yes they are rotating THAT SLOW I feel like batttleship xD basically since hatsuharu I am happy if I manage to make those turrets able to keep up with with half rudder turn - and I don;t think I have ever managed to force them to turn fast enougth to keep up with full turn
