I have no idea what OP is smoking but I want the contact info of his dealer because that dealer needs to have some heresy purged out of his head and the, hey look he have made quite healthy campain agains mods back in 2015..... apparently MODS HAVE RUINED WOT D: [and I thought insane disbalance did it long before mods got even creative......] [PS. mods revealing intel giving you advantage in a battle does not really exist for WoWs - it is not like we have a trees or anything piece of territory that can be bumped by a ship, and being somehow damaged by it bump, for the mod to show: oh there the tree has been rammed down just now! with aimbots being said to be ultimately wrecked quite a few patches ago - apart from how useless those aimbots were, there is no mods available for WoWs giving any sort of advantage to a player using them]

well I'm happy that my averages after 90something battles in kagero are nothing like my averages after first 25 battles..... [all hooray captain retrain system >.>]

btw I've recently seen some early projects of one of other CVs mentioned here [forgot which name it was xD] and it looked interesting..... I mean... it had 3 main battery turrets on the bow [below flight deck level] seems like those turrets didn't survived in this form to what was actually built, design was interesting netherless

well with such small sample any kind of average stats can happens, it could make him look like super-ultra-beyond-comprehension-unicum or different things which remidns me those funny days when I opened up a day with really epic victory, and for that moment before going into next battle warships.today was telling I'm super-unicum ^-^ cause ya know 3 times above average damage, 3 times above average exp, 100% win ratio, who cares it was only single match, rating for it was superunicum

zathras was wondering how you could have "ancient" stats from minekaze and fresh from isokaze that is preceeding her so I just provided him with workign theory, by itself it didn't have anything to do with your acuall point, although I thought I have already expressed my opinion on it? no? welp not worthy arguing at this point. they are basically same ship but minekaze dances better, how does that make isokaze more overpowered? [ah wait, addition - guns of minekaze are actually workable while guns on isokaze are there just for the sake of ship having any guns ] and then I would not call neither of them "disgustingly OP", not after seeing what sealclubbing kongo is capable of doing >.> [and sealclubbing furutaka before MM changes have made her land mostly in t7 battles]

situations when potential torpedo launch could pose a risk of torping friendly are common thing: keyword potential torpedo launch I may play little bti tad too agrssive for my ship to handle it well 100% of times but I ain't happy trigger torpedoer

and he won;t as T8 kagero does not have access to F3 torps [afaik she will have current t8 fubuki torp choices - minus the long range variant]

I made it specific because in regard of the role of a ship I can only talk about ships I am playing, and I am not playing USN DDS, please don't put words in my mouth espeically the ones that are so abstractively far from what I have actually said oh because you looking up some raw numbers gives you absolute knowledge on my actuall in-game performance and my usefullness to a team [and what if Itold you that alot of these are lower than could be, because I'm performing actions that are actually more usefull to a team than just farming stats?] the big question here how high possibility, as you could have noticed I did used terms like "high propability of friendly running into line of fire" and "any propability of friendly getting into line of fire" with slightly different sets things attached to those terms and my posts were adressed to poeple here in this thread, who ere taking those risks very lightly and yet dared to blame others for consequences of risk they have taken PS. at this point I'm starting to understand all those people who hides their stats just for the sake of people trying to be smartass over a bunch of numbers that may or may not bear any relevance to a discussion

[did you maybe intended to quote a post above it, or one of my previous statements? seems like mroe adequate to those earlier ones than to the atually quoted one, and I do knwo that from time to tiem forum derps and quotes hte post below the one you clicked "quote "at....] friendly may have alot of reasons to turn back into potential line of fire and a DD player in those cases is last person to adequatelly judge if his reasons was valid but you can always ya know - communicate with a team on a chat - one may not notice grey triangles coming his direction from behind, but most of them will notice information being typed on a chat - sometimes simple "fishes in the water" is enougth to raise attention of all those whom you could have not notice during launching sequence to check out where those torps are and if they are endangered by them

welp it gets sorta wonky with my memory fro mtime to time, although I was quite sure aki was sorta based off kagero, just upscaled and fitted with different guns..... one thing I am sure though is that akizuki despite bigger displacement had exacly same engines as kagero and that was the very reason why she had so slow top speed [shimakaze was experimental ship to test out new engines, they gave specific letter for that singular ship? or do you refeer to a model designed out of shmakaze test commonly referenced as super-shimakaze-class?]- 28 replies

it's simple, he was just sealclubbing in isokaze more recently and didn't attempted this in minekaze because it have felt so disgustingly overpowered to him

none of those "closer by" ituations would require me to fire torpedo from behind my ally or risking friendly fire in dropping torpedoes in crossfire and actually I did have quite a few of situations where I could have a perfect torpedo shot on an enemy BB but I didn't launched it because of real risk of friendly BB getting in the line of fire. and I'd expect other torpedoboats to do just the same in those cases EDIT: my list of duties in IJN Destroyer: cap the cap zones, fend off enemy destroyers from them by all means available, spot for a team, and make torpedo runs against enemy vessels [i won't list at this moment providing smoke, because my current main boat does nto have one equipped [kagero, I'm using torpedo reload booster instead]

if you'll keep your ad hominems you'll only proove your inability of constructive discussion raw stats may be often misleading as you are perfectly mislead by mine so first thing of all - since you pulled out average damage: sure definitelly one will have alot of average damage when he spends most of a time fighting against classes which do not have alot of them in the first place [destroyers] and being nuked out by a cruisers supporting that other guy is not helpfull to the case [which happens] secondly I am not pushing myself to the limits in 100% of my matches, which results in averages being lower than coudl be available if I were statpadding and then you are again mistaking "being able o easilly take on" with "I'm able to handle them unless" - in case of udaloi I even explicitelly mentioned unless it's rare one who actually knows how to aim [or actually how to play in the first place, as average udaloi I meet on caps I'm contesting are smoking up as soon a they get spotted sitting there and giving me a very generous gift of devastating strike] [1] you see I haven't claimed both, my claim was that they can win without too much difficulty if you know what to do [2] in case of average udaloi is really easy all ou need is to spot him, wait till he smoke up and then send torp spread with his name on them into the smoke works perfectly in 75% of case other 25% are skilled players who actually knows that smokes screens are torpedo magnets [and for half of those torpedo reload booster on kagero makes a job because no one expects kagero to resign from smoke screen to grab this consumable and hence they never expect second salvo 30 seconds later]

usually I spend my time as destroyer being in between my team and enemy team.... depends on tactical situation of teammates - if launch consist minimal risk of friendlies being hit I'd communicate preemptively my team that I am just about to make a torping run on B [i'm using 10km torps so it ill never reach C from any reasonable launch point in such scenario anyway] and then proceed with launch if here is a real way of friendlies being hit [for example friendlies starting a push on B from the other side] then I change the angle of approach and instead of launching torps into the B cap, I launch them into escape routes from B cap to cut off those less brave souls of enemy team although this scenario really rarelly happen, because usually when enemies are sitting on B, all allies prefer to spam shells torps into B because with multiple ships in so small confined area those shells/torps are just bound to hit something on enemy side....

and in short thread Spithas has lost all the credibility he has left in regards of torpedo-boat gameplay if you ar in a situation when you either risk torping friendy, or die, you have made a tactical error on away of engaging the enemy, if you take the risk, it's risk YOU take, and the responsibility will be yours

and then in 90% of cases you have quite alot of indicators that he may be in the area, and sure if you are sailing in straight line ,every potato will be able to hit you regardless of range as long as you are still in the range - bear i n mind I said miss MOST of his shells not all of them, but most is enought for your accurate hits to weight out the differences if you mean reliably hit them with most shells in every salvo, then it only means poorly of those other shimas yet you seem to be whining like you had issues with them, and unless something unprobably great happens between t9 and t10 in all branches I find it doubtfull that "you don't have chance against" - I'm decently fighting off udaloi and fletcher in my kagero with udaloi being onlly as problematic as the captain knows how to aim, which happens from time to time caps locked pst on how shima sucks - totally not a rant as for DPM values - on paper they looks like this, in practice rainbow trajectories against IJN flat one often tends to balance out the differences - of course assuming you know how to exploit rainbow arcs to your advantage the only thing I could add here is that also IJN torps deals much more damage per torp than USN ones, in my kagero I have survived multiple times a gearing torpedo to ship midsection - from other kagero or shimakaze? never well considering how many I've only recently seen players just spamming long lances hoping for any oth them to hit and missing full salvos in point blanc to a battleship because of firing everything on indicator I am not surprised that in avergaes hitrated of shimakaze sounds weak - still one hit of shima torp is considerably more destructive than same torpedo hit from gearing - how this fares with hit rates - I'd have to run calculations on that and I don't really feel like it now you are always entitled to your opinion, and you can make them up on any basis you ever want, just don't trat all of them as facts untl they are proven by practice - considerign current use cases of shimakaze guns I agree it changes seems more nerf-liek than "tweak with no impact on final numbers" as WG claimed in patch notes, but how it will affect ship performance in the end is something to be seen who knows maybe without long lances more people playing shima will finally learn how to make proper torpedo spreads and averages for shima will actually increase? thats one of possibilities imo she never needed "DPM buff" per se - assuming those t10 guns handles similary to kagero guns all she needed was good enought punch in those guns one thing I have learned in this game is, that with this playerbase everything is possible and while I can see potentiall logic that WG was trying to follow with shimakaze changes in this rework, I don't think this is way to reach their goal.... unless their goal is to make shimakaze captains extinct...... time will show, and we will see hwo it impact stats here and in other regions - as WG claims they are balancing things based on stats from all regions, right?

I recall WG stating officially only things like: "main line of stealthy multi-task hybrids with good torpedoes and atrillery" and "alternative line with better guns and less torpedoes" as for the moment being shirastuyu when compared to akatsuki neither has better guns [have less guns by one barrel with nothing to make up for it] neither it really has "less torps" with those 16 torps salvos every 4 minutes..... [unless someone brings here now calculations prooving akatsuki dishing out more torps over time then we could talk]- 28 replies
