Meanwhile... 48 shells, 29 hits, 10 citadels. Please buff AP. It's underperforming.

    Zao and Yoshino builds

Comparing the two builds, I feel like the first is there to make best use out of Yamamoto, which is fair, second though... given you have a hydro for the times you need to deal with torp threats, I feel like the Vigilence is 3 wasted points. If i do go closer with zao, I feel though that one thing definitely worthwhile is EL, because you will start having way more opportunities to throw pinpoint AP salvos at broadside cruisers from 10 km popping out of nowhere. Also, in competitive, RPF beat DE + PM. Insofar as Zao was used in competitive, it usually secured flanks and for that the RPF gave a ton of intel, while the reduced fire chance is not that terrible when the main job of Zao was to slap Henris and such with large alpha salvos. But I speak past tense, because who runs Zao still in any competitive lineup? Except those who have no better cruiser...

    Zao and Yoshino builds

Zao is your typical PT, EL, EM, AR, JoAT, SI, CE, RPF. Yoshino can work with Zao captain or with Yamato captain, whatever you want. Ideally, whichever your Yamamoto is, unless they are on a DD. RPF is helpful on Yoshino for similar reasons as on Zao. FP can help too, but let's be honest, it's a Yoshino. It's not a Stalingrad. You are not sitting there getting HE shelled all the time, you sit 15-20 km away and fire HE at stuff. You make some dodge moves, most BBs shoot AP back at you, not HE. If you are in danger of getting HE spammed to death, you stop shooting and go dark. You don't need FP, because you aren't going to die to fires most of the time anyway and you get an extra heal, so if you actually take fire damage over the match, you might actually have something to repair back with your fifth heal charge, instead of running out due to all being pen damage or worse.

    New Slava is trash

Imagine being a Farragut or Gnevny and getting crapped on by Odin or Bismarck, because unless they are dumb enough to let you torp rush them (without dying to secondaries, they'll murder your DD faster with guns than you killing them with yours. If you don't mind your distance with AFT, they might as well just wreck you with secondaries alone. Or how about T8 cruisers like Mogami that certainly can take on most T6 BBs, because most of the ship is 27 mm now, so apart from WV and Mutsu, not many guns go through that. Ships like Fuso, New Mexico, Arizona and other small caliber T6s might even be hunted down by the genuine light cruisers. Clearly a DD sometimes outtrading cruisers two tiers lower is a problem. Not that the Akizuki can actually kill T6 cruisers fast enough unless it gets plenty of time to do so from smoke while someone else spots, given it will leave most fights dead or heavily damaged if it's an open engagement.

Not even 50% can state that they believe in unbiased and unmanipulated RNG. I'ma out of here, need to find something to restore belief in humanity.

So you gonna blame Cruisers for HE spamming?

It's basically reserved to ships with absolutely silly fire setting capabilities, like Smolensk, Brit BB or maybe Audacious/Midway to pull that off consistently. British BBs are the best choice though, imo, because you also hit them for a good chunk of hp everytime.

    Inoperative Secondaries

Yes, it's the best secondary skill at T7+. In the current random meta, this doesn't mean Manual Secondaries is of little value, but secondaries in general. Certainly, a tank build would get better results most of the time. However, as soon as you take a secondary build, Manual Secondaries is the best skill at higher tiers. Because anyone using secondaries properly should aim for controlled engagements where you focus one target after the other, not yolo pushes into multiple ships, where you damage every ship a bit. Gneisenau is worth it and frankly the last German BB where I can recommend running AFT + Manual Secondaries, because it's T7, has insane secondaries for its tier, has synergy with close range combat due to torps and armour and its 32 knots fast, so when top tier, it can dictate the range quite well and close the gap fast. For Narai, I'd rather use Scharnhorst though. 105s have enough pen to deal with everything except Missouri. main guns are better against most targets too. Premium economy also helps prop up the (sadly nerfed) earnings.

lenin secodaries doesnt shoot infront..100x posted BUG

This is literally why these secondaries are there and in this layout. On an all-frontal layout, the weakest spot is the back and you don't want smaller ships to be able to abuse that. And after all, this is what secondaries are for, killing smaller vessels (and aircraft if DP), while main battery kills large ships.

So you gonna blame Cruisers for HE spamming?

Directive specifies Japanese or French cruisers. Not BBs... Overall, I think that (short of Brits), the HE performance of BBs is ok, just the playerbase is... special. And what do you expect. You get BB folks who venture on reddit, forums, YT, watch the whining about how weak BBs are and how cruiser armour is seemingly busted and that HE spam is OP and what do you know, they start using HE more, because that's seemingly how the game works. Is it the best way to deal with ships? Yeah, no. It always was supposed to be a situational tool and remains powerful as one, but for the most part, AP does the job. But just as people complain that Flamu advertised a central position and now everyone brainlessly sits in the middle at times, maybe people should think about the results from the vast amounts of whining we get. Are you really going to tell me you expect three cruisers to shoot AP at your Kremlin? Did you broadside them at like 12 km so they would actually get pens? Because otherwise, sure, Kremlin is resistant to HE and fires (from cruisers), but the amount a Zao is going to do to an angled Kremlin or even unangled Kremlin at range with AP is absolutely laughable.

    US BB builds

You can run it. I run it on all USN BBs except the premium secondary ones, because the only real other choice is better turret traverse. Frankly, it doesn't matter. It's the most inconsequential slot. Just, only because your Iowa/Montana has 27 km range, don't try to stay at that range... While it is generally more advisable to look for easier targets and not focus on the hard to kill target, if you have to remove a roadblock or kill a DD, HE is very handy.
  12. HaachamaShipping

    Learning to BB?

First 10 points go PT, EM (AR if turret traverse is good), SI and CE. Then FP. On British, CE really is more useful and after FP you just get AR, JoAT and EL.

    Odin Poll

IJN and French cruisers are quite capable of setting 10 or more fires per game, making this about 15 games in the ships, not too far off what you need in other directives. Overall, can be grindy, but not too bad. Honestly, almost feels better than trying to achieve 1.1k base exp in PEF, which took me 5 games, but the ship is just a pain to play. And apart from cool deck armour (which isn't even special at T6), the ship just feels eh, but I guess you gotta grind in an underwhelming German prem with poor guns that lack pen, have longer reload than they should and only got some ok accuracy going for them to get an underwhelming German premium with similar gun woes at T8.

NouZoup tells the truth about reviews

Fun is a very subjective experience though. Take CV for example. There exist tons of people who like the new gameplay, tons of people who hate it. Regardless of whether they perform in it or not, some just find it unfun. What is the value in saying "Yes, it's fun... for me." It's why I recommend LWM's reviews, because she just gives you all the numbers, so you can work on that also yourself.

NouZoup tells the truth about reviews

Ah yeah, when Kronshtadt came out it totally wasn't incredibly powerful. Just because powercreep came doesn't mean it wasn't good. Three tech tree ships and "underestimated" is pretty silly, the ships are mediocre at best. But hey, not like Zoup ever called a ship mediocre or bad despite being decent, right? As to Kuznetsov, if you think that pointing out that this captain that is the most consistent captain in the game with one of the most stupid skills doesn't deserve being pointed out in every video about a Russian ship where you could run him on, especially premiums, then I don't know. Flamu has his moments, but this is a lulzy display of double standards.

Ah, tell me, which ship did Flamu overhype and lie about that his viewers spent money on yet it was not as good as advertised?

NouZoup tells the truth about reviews

NoZoup: Different ships have different playstyles. Maybe some ships just don't suit you. NoZoup: content creators are often sensationalist, cause they like to get views. Also NoZoup: I do not enjoy Ohio, thus I kick off a whole debate about how BBs in general are unfun and need buffs to be "great again". ShipJesus Flamu is certainly at times turning up the drama, but compared to the absolute nonsense Zoup has been spouting over the last few years, you still get way more insight out of Flamu than out of this. If someone wants more opinions on ships, I'd say iChase is pretty decent, Mejash and Aerron are not bad, but for ship reviews, imo the gold standard is Little White Mouse. Decent entertainment, but very biased towards the "BB main". It was worse in the past, much worse, but half the "First Impressions" are basically run on weird builds, most of them secondary.

    Azur+Hololive Collab with WoWs

As cute as they may be, watching them launch 10 km Fubuki torps at a Fuso behind an island 12 km away made me close the stream. Not blaming them though, we got people with way more battles and as much of an idea what they are doing. Also, it'd be one huge surprise if anyone of them had turned out to secretly be some avid WoWS player.

    What ship to grind next?

Eh, all worth it. RU BB and Euro DD I don't have, because not interested, but both seem decently strong lines. British DDs after the Icarus are great, Gun boat IJN has Akizuki and Kitakaze that are great. French BB... my most recent grind to get Richelieu. Frankly, Bretagne is a PoS, but Normandie and Lyon are at least good (not my cup of tea, but certainly strong) and their playstyle, while not incredibly powerful at least is fun and kinda rewarding and has a nice pace.

No. Fires are fine as they are.

    New Slava is trash

BBs are area control and that may include tanking, often does, but actually "taking damage for x" is not a real thing. If you have a Neptune and a Yamato and the enemy has to shoot either of them, 9 out of 10 will shoot Neptune, unless that Yamato is really just about to end them (even then, many may go for a last hail mary salvo on the Nep before they go out). Thus, cruisers don't survive because BBs tank for them, they survive, because they find some cover or can dodge at range. What BBs have to do, which is their actual job, is to exercise area control effectively enough that the enemy cannot just overrun the cruisers. Here, a BB at 20 km obviously has issues usually, because a GK that far away has issues consistently punishing anything, so if people just push around, there's less to fear. Meanwhile a Slava at 20 km is still a goddamn Slava that can absolutely and consistently nail your ship even at that distance. It's part of the reason the Slava is OP. But one of the main things you find with BB is not just the border camper that does crap all, but also the idiot that yolos in, thinking their BB has to tank, then call on team to support, get flamed down by four enemy cruisers from cover and then comes here to complain about "HE spam OP". Ideally, BBs are in positions where they have to just tank enough to oversee vital areas of the map and be able to be a convincing threat for enemies to not run in front of their guns or die.

The Flood of German Premium Ships Worries me.

Who would ever have thought that instead of line splits we get more premiums? Not like Massa/Georgia/Ohio, Warspite/Hood/Vanguard/Thunderer didn't already make the direction pretty clear.

The counters to DDs are getting disgustingly ridiculous

You mean the CV line that is supposed to use torps to kill DDs? If I was a DD player, I'd take a German tech line CV or basically any other CV.
