he spam How to tackle constant HE spam from CL, DD and CV.
HaachamaShipping replied to T_Jiwankar's topic in General Discussion
Don't sit in a place where you are just easily farmed by a Smolensk like a moron. Don't repair fires until you know you are no longer being fired upon. Yes, you may burn a while, but you can only burn in so many locations and even three fires aren't that much. With all fire reduction measures, you lose like 30% of your hp pool to fires. Big deal... Don't go into places where disengaging only works in friggin reverse, because of course you will not get out anytime soon on 1/4 speed. And cry me a river about having to put a few braincells into positioning and how and where you commit. Cruisers and DDs have to that for years already, because go get caught in a stupid position with those, you certainly don't take a couple minutes to roast to death there. -

HaachamaShipping replied to T_Jiwankar's topic in General Discussion
A third of the team focusing one ship and you think it is unbalanced if at some point it dies? Imagine if ships could just loltank that much fire throughout a match and not die. Also, if you bowtank, what else do you think people should shoot at you? AP to bounce off? And if you didn't tank while angling, just be happy they shoot HE and didn't devastate your broadside. Frankly, much of the problems with HE spam are just related to people having to realise they have to actually mind positioning and how to disengage, not just camp a spot and wait to be dug out. -
How to determine the conkek/thunderer know what the "2" key does(semi-shitpost?)
HaachamaShipping replied to howardxu_23's topic in Battleships
No, this isn't bad luck, it's a general thing. Lion, Conqueror and Thunderer all have absolutely flat turret faces. KGV/DoY might too, but I don't remember, Monarch is slightly more conventional with angled front plate. Anyway, this makes it easy to just pen the turret at any range where a gun exceeds the 400 mm or so that are needed to go through the plating. Thunderer is slightly more forgiving, but only because the turrets are narrower and the plate is thicker. It's overall a flaw in turret design. -
Looking to buy another premium ship
HaachamaShipping replied to ZombieOnWoWs's topic in General Discussion
Ranked, especially T7 is a poor means to judge the balance of ships. Ranked follows a different meta, has no CVs at T7 and good players typically gravitate to optimal ships, meaning whatever isn't the best ship drops off hard, as while bad players might play good ships too, the majority of people who understand a meta play meta ships to get it over and done with, few taking contrarian picks to flex or something. Thus, while for example Algerie, Zara or NO are doing pretty ok in randoms, in Ranked their stats absolutely suck. And not because the ships are uncompetitive trash, but because the majority of people who bring such a ship do not understand the meta of Ranked. Still doesn't mean Atlanta is OP, especially when its stats are pretty in line with other meta picks (while OP Belfast sits a whole two percentage points ahead) and its damage for a cruiser is mediocre. -
As I told you in your original topic, it's pointless. Also, this is the thread where discussion goes to die. Just in case you haven't noticed.

Looking to buy another premium ship

Just don't run IFHE and run CE or FP instead. Done. -
These players might then be better off realising that Gascogne is a better ship for their playstyle. It has better hp, better armour, same secondaries, more guns that are less accurate but at close range doesn't matter and it has a Massachusetts heal. It is sensible to admit that Zao does not befit you, but why is it the ship not befitting your playstyle preferences in this case, but with Champagne it's players unable to realise a playstyle with the ship? Brawling Champagne is like playing brawling Zao. The ship is absolutely not made for it. It absolutely sucks at it. It's literally the crappiest brawler at T8 and the only thing it brings over stuff like Monarch and Vanguard is secondary range. The lack of pen on most of the secs means it isn't even going to put out much hurt. Who would pay a ton of actual money just to play a ship not suited for close range in exactly that environment? Go buy a Tirpitz instead.

We don't need "mini reworks". Abolishing single plane types is basically like taking ibuprofen to cure terminal cancer. It's not going to change anything meaningfully. yes, I do remember. RTS CVs were powerful and had issues. Many related to the fact that the presence of a CV changed the game and players, in typical potato fashion, would never adapt as a team. Therefor, the worse the general player base got and the more CVs were becoming the domain of a few hardcore CV players, the more CVs could dominate, especially against the icompetent CV players. CVs still can be extremely potent and win a ton, due to how busted they are and how large the skill gap is. And an AA DD could simply delete entire strikes. Something like a Kidd also would not care about stuff like AP bombs, which were a stupid idea. Certainly better than now, when Ognevoi and Udaloi get to trade a smoke for extra defAA, WG pretending that is actually going to help the friggin ship. I fly towards enemy team, spawn fighter plane outside AA range and go kill something. I don't need to circle an empty bomber above a DD, I can just take out a rocket fighter and kill it myself (while spotting it anyway). As to dealing more damage... lolno. Most deal as much damage now than previously. Some saw new damage records. Not that if they don't spot CVs wouldn't still be an insanely questionable class, because of they way they deal damage currently. Skill gap has statistically widened, as bad CV fail to outplay automated air defenses, while good CVs basically ignore most AA. Fighters are unnecessary. Unless you had AP bombs, dealing with a single AA spec cruiser was going to be a nightmare. Dealing with an AA spec BB that hadn't had its AA shot to pieces was a nightmare for CVs. You might get it by overwhelming it with numbers, but the losses would take you out of the game. And if you had no AP bombs, that cruiser would laugh at you. Ships like Cleveland that had defAA anyways were feared. Now, an Enterprise can literally take its most expendable plane type, slap the Cleveland in the face with rockets and delete a third of it in a strike without incurring any significant losses. Obviously with AP bombs it can do even more. Simply put, yes, you no longer can outplay AA ships, because AA ships no longer exist. Skill gap is bigger than it ever was. Heck, it seems only now, players are starting to grasp how to use AP bombs. And frankly, that's not really players learning, it's more that in CB most folks who took a Haku should know how to Haku more than the average Haku knows in randoms. Otherwise they'd run BB. As to player numbers, we got only really a significant increase if we look at number of T4 CVs, which is artificially created by making Houshou an OP PoS that makes low tiers absolutely unenjoyable. Higher tiers are still meh, but concentrated into fewer tiers, so it seems like we got more CV matches now. But as can be seen from the exp requirement changes WG put out, most CV action is low tier and WG is now trying to make people move on. WG should just nerf the Houshou, so the clubbers have no reason to stay with it.

Scrap the current iteration and introduce a new way on how planes and AA interact that has some fairness towards both sides. Even RTS was more balanced, as then, yes, CVs could be extremely powerful, but AA ships also were pretty much a hard-counter.

As silly as rocket planes are, taking away all rocket planes is not a fix. It basically just leads to two changes in the meta: USN CVs will become best CVs, IJN will drop to just above RN, as only USN has bombers that are effective against DDs. Kaga obviously will become the new best CV over Enterprise. The skill gap will widen, as the easiest planes get abolished. Potatos will potato harder, unicum Lex/Midway/Kaga/Saipan will just drop HE bombs on your DD, which requires more skill, but is still effective. As long as the fundamental plane-ship interaction is not fixed, taking away single aircraft types does not change anything.

Oh god, how damn OP the Atlanta was. Friggin OP T7 cruiser that when uptiered cannot pen BBs, has pathetic range, can't hit dodging DDs at anything but close range and gets overmatched by 203 mm guns. Also has just enough armour to die to shells. Certainly OPness incarnate at T7 where it competed with Fiji, Helena and Myoko, just to name some of the better tech tree alternatives. -
Coordinated boycott of CB from EU and NA clans
HaachamaShipping replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
I'd guess a mix of Moskva, Petro and Yoshino. Not as efficient, but next best combo for that playstyle, I'd guess. Now with bonus stand-off torping. -
only getting in to pure tier x matches with tier x
HaachamaShipping replied to anonym_Q28oK2IubRbe's topic in General Discussion
Single tier matches have become more common, in my experience, ever since WG tweaked the MM so it will try to fill slots that way to avoid having one or two ships be bottom tier. Overall, can't complain. If everyone is same tier, it's a pretty level playing field. Not that one poor sod in Dallas stuck in a full T8 game. -
And I thought I was being weird for playing secondary Shikishima... Honestly, as others already said, secondary Champagne is a disaster waiting to happen, with lowest hp pool at T8, worst armour that can get overmatched by its peers and only 4 repairs, you are truely bad at brawling, to the point taking a Mutsu into brawls will do better (at least it got torps and at best sees T8 with a better hp pool).

HaachamaShipping replied to T_Jiwankar's topic in General Discussion
Don't sit in positions where you get farmed for free. Doesn't mean sit in spawn, but while BBs are large too, stuff like islands can still help you limit the ways you can be shot. Also, don't panic too much. Having played secondary Shikishima the past week a fair bit, I understand fires are frustrating (and my build needs some work), but BBs still can survive a lot of that and if you handle it wisely, sure, botching up and being in a bad position might mean losing most of your hp, but with 5 repairs, you can still recover. -
when will we see ijn ise bb
HaachamaShipping replied to TheBicentennialman's topic in General Discussion
A bomber squadron they could not retrieve and which would have to land on land-based airfields or be ditched. It was a silly concept that never was fully realised and I doubt it'll be introduced anytime soon, even if WG says CVs are fine. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Met @Episparh in their Kitakaze. Gave you a compliment for trying, as I guess GK might have reported you. -

2.5% dpm nerf, a minor rudder shift nerf and a nerf to minimum ricochet angles that only comes into play at steep angles is a hammer nerf now? -
It does not worth investing into tech tree ships

No. No. Is either of them a requirement to knowing what a Ponzi scheme is? -

HaachamaShipping replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
You could also grind exp and credits the normal way. This is not akin to a Ponzi scheme. Still makes it neither a Ponzi scheme nor even a scam. Just you not understanding how it works. If I buy a car and then get surprised by how much that costs overall it's also not a scam, just me being silly. Research Bureau is not the reason for that. -

That's like calling a supermarket a Ponzi scheme, because if noone puts in money, it goes bancrupt. -

HaachamaShipping replied to Supersubway's topic in General Discussion
Truely braindead players don't turn on hydro. Also just because Smolensk is about as hard to torp while camping a spot than any other cruiser except Stalingrad and radar Salem doesn't make it OP. It just makes it normal. -
Why Comic Sans?

Killing Venezia? Are you serious?
HaachamaShipping replied to Supersubway's topic in General Discussion
Hydro is if Smol rushes you by itself. In which case any cruiser can end you, even a Yoshino. As to getting spotted near a Smolensk, at the very least most of the time you have a very clear grasp of where the hell it is. Go get spotted near a Venezia. Best thing is when I get disconnected after sinking, it loads in again and I get fire alarm despite being dead. Can't even press R. -

HaachamaShipping replied to Supersubway's topic in General Discussion
Because it sit in smoke and spam HE. Doesn't matter that its HE pens hardly anything and is all reliant on fire, when BB gets put on fire too much, siren goes of blaring and then the audio and visual input of all the shells makes BB player brain panic, regardless of what is actually happening. BB is a forgiving class that attracts players of almost all kinds, but mostly gets "mained" by people with a certain type of character that cannot handle this kind of traumatising experience. This is not what they play BB for!
