Just to make sure, what I wanted to describe is this. Drake, if angled can only be citadelled at angle if you hit the frontal of aft cit plating, as the citadel side plating bounces Yamato and the main belt is a bounce anyway. On Goliath though, shells entering that hole might just overmatch the cit.

Don't have Goliath, only Drake, but how tanky is the Goliath when angled, by comparison? Not just talking about the step, but the citadel plating behind the main belt seems to be 25 instead of 37 of Drake, so basically a shell overmatching 30 mm plating in front or after the main belt and ending up inbetween the main belt and cit plating might overmatch into the cit is my concern.

Until an angled Hindenburg decides to dismantle your cruiser, because it just outdpms you and has way better accuracy.

Honestly, as a concept, I feel it is a pretty ok concept. People getting punished for playing bad. Because really, we got enough stuff that is just idiot-proof.

Let me do two coin flip and when I get only get one side, I'll call [edited] and complain that the national mint is messing with coins, because I should have gotten both sides once. Disregard the 25% possibility of my outcome and the atrocious sample size. As said before, others literally could get ships within the first container or get them sooner. Same with other RNG events they ran. Personally bought 20 CV containers back in the day, which cost about as much as a premium CV. Now I got all 4 T8 prem CVs. Some others got nothing. WoWS has a few fundamental differences to a casino though, in that the only cost there is to giving away a virtual item is that you give up the opportunity that this account might have bought that same item at a later point. Creating this specific copy of the item cost literally nothing though. If WG during summer sale decided to not give 30% discount on Massachusetts, but 90%, they'd still make a profit, because the ship already more than made up for its original production cost and any Massa still sold is sold to people who seemingly are unwilling to pay the full price anyway, where 10% is still more than nothing. A casino cannot operate like that, because in a casino, what you win is basically money and they cannot create money out of nothing. This is not meant to say it is wise to gamble on RNG events, but frankly, bad rolls are not proof that randomness has been messed with. Especially given if you go to a Casino, there certainly is no option to just buy all bundles to exhaust the potential outcomes. You potentially might just lose all the time. Obviously though, just like any lottery, the system is set up that the amount of income generated that way covers what you'd pay anyway. So going to the premium shop is cheaper, unless you really like signal flags.

Tashkent at T10. Some tweaks maybe, but nothing known.

I mean, it's not necessarily WG, just how the system works. And sure it's gambling, but the odds are what they are and if you get unlucky, well, that was within the possible outcomes. Others meanwhile could be super lucky and get a ship in first box.

Honestly, Drake so far has been the best RN CA in the line. Surrey was decent too, Devonshire was ok enough, Albemarle and Hawkins are basically exercises in frustration, as they get whacked hard in some area for their heal at their tiers. But Drake when angled tanks pretty decent, has excellent concealment, solid HE salvo, solid AP salvo (with overmatch on super light cruisers and a very slightly improved ricochet angle) and the superheal. Like others in the line it isn't the greatest of carry machines (at least my team mates managed to still throw friggin hard), but when you use that concealment and armour well, to get into a position where you can bounce most shells only eat the occasional pen that is not a cit, Drake becomes incredibly troll and just like the ships before it, a solid anti-cruiser cruiser (ambush, outtrade as you got way better sustain with lolheal, use heavy AP if they show side). Ship is unforgiving when one messes up, but when not, trolling people with your 28% fire chance salvos (with flags and DE) that pen almost any deck in the game, then tanking return fire is just nice. And if no BB is around, you can really start to become a bit of a bully. Likely will get Goliath once I have the exp, but not looking forward too much, as the ship not just has a stepped citadel, but any 30 mm overmatch round that finds its way through the bow behind the belt can overmatch the citadel, which the 37 mm Drake cit wouldn't allow. Given you also lose spotter plane, not sure. I am looking forward to the eventual point where WG draws its own silly Brit supercruiser that is some Conqueror x Goliath abomination with 305 mm thermonuclear HE, great conceal and a superheal. 76 mm HE pen, just so Smolensk and Kremlin can go f*** off.

In randoms, I guess sometimes you get it done in under a minute, because the AA opens up, Halland gets spotted out of position and half your flank, including some pasta cruiser dispatches of it. Third party factor goes both ways.

Yeah, Thunderer > Georgia for me. Thunderer is just insanely strong and a ship I can always go back to, because whether I want to tryhard, be casual or just watch the world burn, Thunderer will be comfortable and reliable.

None of them had an extensive combat career (unless you want to point me at the great number of engagements any of these ships had) or some accomplishments that are of great value. Bismarck would also be on the list if it hadn't gotten lucky against Hood. They might have been better design-wise, but: Just means that not having a remarkable combat career is not a disqualifier. Arguably the Gangut/Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya saw more action than the Vanguard. Fuso was not even a good design. It was the first indegenous BB design to be built and that showed. Most were actually operational. Just not very good. But that's not a requirement, a lot of ships in the game weren't great. If we would weed out faulty designs, I guess Mogami isn't real because it required extensive work to be a proper seaworthy ship. And there is a reason why most of the "real" Soviet ships are mid-tiers, with only Chapayev, Ognevoi, Neustrashimy and Tashkent (an Italian design) making it to high tiers. Maybe because they were tiered according to where their mediocre performance fits (well, except Gremyaschy, which is undertiered, but same could be said about Belfast or Alaska). And this diminishes the 40% of real ships how? I mean, 40% isn't much, but it's 40%. However crap the 40% were, they were there and they served, even if not very remarkably. And while sure, paper ships might be silly strong at times, I doubt there are many who considered the Gnevny, Tashkent, Krasny Krim or Kirov OP or "toxic to the game balance". Soviet BB line is strong, but Soviet DD line is the most openly powercrept line in the entire game, with only the German DD line coming anywhere close (just that with the Soviets you literally get a whole line of ships that do the exact same job but better. With Germans, other lines at most have certain aspects, but none are just outright replacements in the one crappy niche it has).

What did the Vanguard or the Yamato achieve? What was the grand accomplishment of the Fuso except being an outdated meme pagoda that got absolutely smacked when it got into an actual battle? Yes, the Soviet Navy wasn't very large and due to the size and geographical restrictions mostly just served as AA batteries or troop transports, with a good few ships only coming out after the war (like the Chapayev and Kutuzov, which obviously did little, given they served in peacetime). But that doesn't mean none of their ships existed past T4 and the ships I listed were not just "rotting in a dock half-finished", but at some point were actually commissioned as a proper operational unit that floated and was combat capable (even if not involved in much). And that's all that is required for them to count as "real". The rest just seems a rant about whatever, but in no way makes the ships less real.

Roon is the first of these that I honestly cannot be bothered with getting the nameship. I don't like Roon as a ship, so she'll be put on some German BB, I guess... Also, Yat-sen is the first captain corresponding to a ship not in the game (yet?), I just noticed.

75% AA accuracy on BB vs 100% on DD. A number you can find in port, but just is hard to interpret without any proper explanation.

She does not, but also doesn't claim she does. In fact, her view on AA seems pretty similar to that of competent CV players, as she does calculate AA dps, just to then tell you in every ship review "it's good/bad, for all that AA is worth anyway these days". LWM crunches the numbers, but knows it's ultimately pointless if the enemy CV isn't crap.

A battleship has 16+ km range and if you aren't oblivious, you can just kite a DD, dodging torps while still doing your job. A DD that has to play around CV basically either has to play cautious to the point they cannot do anything or they just die if the CV isn't potato. And sure, if the enemy team is like half made up of DDs, BB isn't very great, but sure is a difference when it needs DD heavy games to ruin matches for a class, while it needs a single CV per team to screw over DDs.

I'm pretty sure most players will not cease to exist if they can no longer play WoWS. I doubt WoWS can exist without players though. So, while WoWS takes up more resources of the individual player compared to what the individual player takes up from WoWS, if things turn bad, it'll be a bigger issue for the game than for players, who no doubt will find new ways to waste time and money.

I wonder how many people will buy this piece of trash.
