So many BB's lately spam HE in battles - What the hell?!

In an argument on the use of HE, I would not think so.

Franz von Jütland new german comander with special cpt perks

Slower torps give you more warning with hydro up. In which case, you need Vigilance even less, unless you have a really hard time dodging torps spotted 3 km away... Vigilance together with BoS is a waste, SI is better on BBs. Without hydro up, Jutland vigilance makes you no better at dodging Asashio than normal Vigilance. The detection range and speed of Asashio torps vs normal vigilance is not even 5 seconds of warning, it barely increases with Jutland. With hydro on, your torpedo detection range increases to the point where torpedoes should no longer be a significant issue and Jutland does not help much. And sacrificing SI or BoS (or BFT for secondary/AA builds) for Vigilance just to try counter a DD that either kills you anyway or would already been rendered harmless is not worth it really. The best you get out of this (or Jutland on a German cruiser) is that you can play torpedo picket, best with hydro module up. If you like playing torpedo picket, being kind of out of place and maybe even useless. Not like it's a very great job.

The fastest way is sadly (and obviously) spending money. Other than that, you get a few tokens from dailies and other quests. Just like you get gems this way. Which can be traded for tokens. But obviously, as F2P player, you'd rather want to spend it on unlocking more echelons and such and personally, I'd really not recommend spending gems on tokens to get costumes, if you don't plan on buying gems. The cheapest assured skin in the token gacha is 100 exchange tickets, which means 9 11x draws and 1 single draw minimum, which is 910 tokens, which, if we generously assume you already have 100 tokens, would still cost you at minimum 4,880 gems (810 tokens, purchased as 8x100 token for 500 gems each and 10 tokens for 80 gems). If you could even grind this much freely up to now, that'd be a harsh setback for F2P development of your base. Buying this many gems for the first time, costs like 27 Euro, just to give also an expression of monetary value. Naturally, you can hope to get whatever costume you want through sheer luck, but that'd be not assured. Likely, if you even just go for a 100 tickets outfit, you get some added outfit, though not guaranteed. If all you want is Mosin or Skorpion outfits, those are sold in shop and not available through token gacha and come with an oath. Mosin comes with 50 tokens even. Skorpion is 1288 gems, Mosin is 1888 gems. With a few grinded gems, either is available if you never purchased gems before for around 8,50 Euro. So, that's vastly cheaper than trying to go for assured exchange ticket. Another consideration though, if you do not want to spend money (which is reasonable) and want to grind tokens for costumes, it might be better to look into the other costumes available for the girls, like summer, halloween, christmas, etc. For a later gacha period you might actually have the tokens necessary to just get it for free and dupe outfits you likely get in the process give black tickets which later can be exchanged for other costumes. So, it should not be the end if you cannot get a skin you want now. Especially if what you aim for is higher priced, like HK416, where people seem to spend a few hundred Euro to get that, thanks to rarity and 600 exchange ticket price. Also, my gem value calculations all include the first purchase bonus where you get double the gems. Which means it gets vastly more expensive later, if you already purchased gems. I'd say, the token gacha seems quite expensive, and costumes provide a player with no real benefit, except 5 affection (which are easily gotten through not getting your T-dolls wrecked while sending them out), so, from an efficiency PoV, they really are the worst return you could get on grinded gem investment. First echelon cost 550 gems. Second then costs 880 and I think that's fixed. If it is, 4880 gems almost gets you all the remaining 6 echelons to 10. This got rather long, but I felt it should be stated, given the costs involved.
  5. I'm no WoT player, but watched some who played the game over the years. From what I got, one reason this preferential MM was established (and which also is why these tanks get balance changes) is that these machines often were somewhat incapable of fighting tanks two tiers higher, but were balanced within the more limited MM spread. Partly, because, unlike with ships, tanks have a much harder time killing each other if the penetration is too low and enemy armour too high. In warships, I cannot think of any ship that cannot harm any other warship in its MM spread, even if their penetration sucks. e.g. even an Akizuki with its 10 cm guns does not actually need IFHE to hurt the most well-armoured ships it can encounter, not in the least also because it has torpedoes and/or can try burn the enemy down.
  6. Interesting read. Though I agree, more free exp premium BBs is indeed the last thing we'd need. Even the free exp cruiser is half a BB.

Thanks. Maybe one day I'll find a use for it. Thus far, it was just an extra, sitting in my storage.

But such would devalue the value of my first oath's emotional meaning to me. Thus, I'm asking if there is a use other than establishing an oath. I doubt there is, I just want to be sure.

Well, if it's "oath x because they got good stats", I'd rather not.

Well, yeah, but you can only oath a T-doll once. And I need no others. So, what to do with a second oath?
  11. Because Section 7 details overall content, Section 8 goes into detail on content you pay for.
  12. Virtual goods are part of the content...

Sounds interesting. Meanwhile, is there any use for Oath certificates besides the obvious one? I got two and not really any plan for the second.
  14. WG still reserves the right to change the content and make balances in other articles of the ToS, so, I'd still not put too much value on this.
  15. You do realise you are quoting ToS from WoWS NA which is different from EU ToS?
  16. Sure. But there is a different section of the forums for this kind of debate, where you can create a thread and feel to discuss it all day long. It does not need to be here, in the gameplay section in a thread on premium policies.

    i had enough

No. We got enough speshul high tier DDs. And it gets worse the more premiums we sell. Giving out T10 rental DDs would be such a disaster.
  18. This is getting off-topic and I'd caution going further into this direction.

[qualitypost] Asashio main complaining about life

I kind of foresaw this a while ago, though I guess it'd be tinhat territory to consider Asashio to be a plot to empower the Russians. But you never know...
  20. That's a phone contract, not the sale of rights to use a virtual good. The only thing that can be compared is the usage of an EULA and noone claimed EULA was necessary in line with laws. But if you look at the way most of these games or other content providers set it up, it is hard to believe that they'd risk it in legal gray area and get away this long, especially given that the way it is worded makes quite a lot of sense in the context of running online games that require updates and/or patches to existing content over time. The loss of trust likely is the vastly more important factor compared to legal cost.
  21. Maybe it can. I'm not a legal expert in the field, but either there is a solid legal framework in place that causes this to be the standard practice, or your case is probably going to change how the sale of virtual goods is conducted. Far beyond just WG. You could for example take bigger fish like Steam. Read their Subscriber Agreement, it's roughly the same. I do not think that this business practice went just fine till now because noone ever challenged it and it's just legal gray area (if it was just legal gray area though, it also would just prompt new legislation to regulate it, rather than overturning existing license practices). And just because you "feel" it is yours doesn't mean it legally is yours, especially given you agreed to the ToS and all upon installing and playing and upon making a purchase.

HMS Hood in the shop - but which camo?

If you hadn't said otherwise, I'd have thought top just never mounted any camo.
  23. Because you never had "purchase rights". You purchased a right to use on WGs terms. Without saying that changing premium ships nilly-willy is a good thing morally or economically, legally, as Tungstonid already laid out and you people seem to not get, is that paying for a premium ship is not akin to purchasing an actual good. It is the purchase of the right to use virtual content that is explicitly stated in the ToS that it can be changed as WG sees fit. It's not even false advertising if they change the ship at some point later. One could try to make the case with incidents like the GZ, but even then it is flimsy. one could certainly not make the case in incidents like when Belfast and kutuzov got their detectability in smoke nerfed in line with all other ships. That is entirely within the rights of WG to adjust ships. And I think changes such as the raising of detectability in smoke of premium ships would be a perfect example of why it is a reasonable policy of WG to define premium ships like this and reserve the right to modify the ships. It would be utterly silly to not do so, if you plan to run the game for years, with potential changes in the meta, requiring changes to all ships. Also, it makes it less problematic if WG ever bans accounts or for shuts down the service, as they are not legally required to provide you with this service in all eternity. What kind of forces WG's hand more than trying to insist on your right as "owners" of premium ships (which won't work as you never were given ownership, only a right to use within the terms laid out by WG), is that making random changes that cannot be justified in a broader context (like smoke firing nerfs) undermine the customer's trust in WG preserving the value of the investment or in general pisses off people, causing them to leave. This is why they are so reluctant to change premiums and why they often offer refunds when they do, because if changes were frequent and radical, people would start to become very reluctant to invest in premium ships/tanks/planes that today might be worthwhile, but get nerfed in the ground tomorrow. It's also why buffs are done when deemed necessary, because the fewest customers will complain about their premiums getting improved for free. Lastly, this isn't some WG-specific legalese. Defining virtual or digital goods and granting merely rights to use, not an actual proper product is what most games of this kind do. Pretty much because most of these games need similar freedom to modify content for aforementioned reasons.
  24. An Atlanta chucks shells with the same damage output every 4.5 seconds. It has lower fire chance, but its targets have lower fire resistance. With IFHE, it can pen pretty much all the 25 mm armour of same tier ships. Even if the Atlanta is top tier, it is not a complete terror, if you don't let it be one. I mean, if you just let the Atlanta farm you all day from behind an island, sure, it's brutal, but if you push it properly (without just running into that quad launcher), then it's not too hard to kill. And even a heal won't make the ship that much harder to kill, because heals give sustain, they don't prevent a multi-citadel instant kill because your ship has no armour (and de Grasse armour on T9 is not exactly great). It does have high damage output if it can realise it, but pretty much that's it. I would be more concerned about ships like Worcester in that MM spread, who have slightly less damage but better range, or ships like Hindenburg which can pen 50 mm armour with HE. I would not hype a de Grasse too much, especially when it depends on that 1/4 caliber pen, which might never materialise, because why should it? The gun on other ships does not have 1/4 caliber pen, and guns with greater penetration issues have proven viable (Akizuki).
  25. Well, yeah. but also two tiers higher. Atlanta is a fun ship, but you stated "it makes it sound OP". Which it certainly does not.
