aa-builds are completly useless
HaachamaShipping replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
Atlanta maximum dispersion: 98 m at default range. If we add AFT. that goes to around 118 m. -7% dispersion from AMS works out to 7-8 m less dispersion at maximum range. Against DDs that are typically around 100 m long anyways. At max range, unless the DD completely straightlines and ignores the Atlanta shooting at them, the trajectory is the worse issue compared to dispersion and at closer range, why would any sane person give up 1.2 km AA range increase for like 3 metres dispersion decrease at the ranges where your arcs are still kind of flat? And this isn't necessarily Atlanta-specific. Other cruisers have similar levels of dispersion compared to their range. The only cruisers where ASM might pay off are ships like Graf Spee or Kronshtadt, which have wonky half-BB gun characteristics. -

Honestly, Minotaur must be the single worst ship if you are bothered by constant chattering. Lightning reload, but also... you can single fire all your torp tubes. Get that perfect opportunity, listen to the torpedo launch line for every single torpedo. Listen to the torpedo hit line for every single torpedo...Then the line that you sunk a ship. -

If you actually calculate the dispersion difference it makes for Atlanta, you'll see, Aiming Systems Mod on an Atlanta is totally not worth it over the increased AA range. In general, cruisers are already accurate enough to not necessarily need ASM and getting extra AA range pays off massively when you do run into CVs. -
T8 is actually rather fine. If you want victims, look at T5-6. The differences between T8 and T10 are most pronounced for CVs and cruisers, because of AA increase and lack of a repair party. BBs from T8 on already get the 32 mm plating allowing to angle to bounce most enemy AP shells and all ships get concealment mod, which helps cruisers and DDs most of all. Meanwhile, there is T5, where as a BB, pretty much every T7 BB can angle against your shells and apart from Scharnhorst, they all overmatch you (and Scharnhorst has other means of making T5 BBs life hard). As a DD, by T5 and T6, some people don't even have CE skill yet, and suddenly they run into something like Gadjah Mada or a T8 DD with concealment mod. Heck, even T5 CVs I'd argue are screwed over more when thrown into a T7 game (or double CV T6), than a CV at T8 vs T10s. Having to autodrop targets that now actually get AA and defAA is just... I rather take an NC, Cleveland or Benson against T10, than play a New York, Omaha or Nicholas against T7.

Aegis' anti-CV action can be cut short if cruisers push north after rescuing the convoi, ending up right next to the spawning CVs and citadelling them. Typically, I wouldn't bring a CV for Aegis, because of the abundance of Aobas/Myokos. Killer Whale indeed can be made much easier with a CV. Raptor Rescue benefits from a good CV, because not always are there cruisers with defAA around, but also, unlike Aegis, spotting targets for your team can be vital. Especially when you aren't in a division, spotting all the DDs gives a higher chance of the team killing them, instead of just hugging the repair zone and letting Raptor get torped. -

Yes. Also retroactively introduced for Haifuri. Although these voice lines for Haifuri are not new, as already LWM on the NA boards in her review noted how annoying they were and how she couldn't stand torp hit messages anymore. -

Yes. Don't own them, but having seen (and heard) Flamu's Hipper during yesterday's stream, they have VA. -

I call it overpriced for what they bundled with it (Siren camo), not for the actual pricetag. Had they just thrown in something more useful (doubloons?), I'd not mind the pricetag really. Not after I paid about as much already once for the Haifuri captains. MrConway indicated that they couldn't ask for less money, but I doubt any contract would say they'd have to sell that camo to make up the price. But it is what it is now... CV gameplay seems so hard. I always feel like a complete scrub with my average performance in easy BB like Bismarck. -

XP and hp are not used synonymously. And for xp, this is fair. -
Make HSF camos great again?

The base grey does look a bit different, but it certainly is not the normal standard hull grey, imo. -
Target acquisition modification + hydro: do they stack?
HaachamaShipping replied to Iteria's question in Q&A Section
Does it give such bonuses? Yes. Is it worth it? No. TAM is just not good enough to not validate slotting Concealment mod there, for about every ship that has access to this module. For stealthy ships, the added concealment allows for better using the stealth advantage, for ships like Bismarck, which are seen from quite a bit away, Concealment mod makes it easier to actually disengage and fade from view if you are about to go down and need to retreat to heal up before rejoining the fight. Especially Bismarck, which often gets specced for secondaries with no Concealment Expert skill, the module patches that up a bit. Meanwhile, Bismarck also is the one BB at T8 that has the best options for spotting ships and torpedoes, as it gets the hydro-acoustic search consumable. TAM would improve your hydro range, but frankly, concealment you can benefit from in pretty much all your games. Extented hydro range meanwhile is rare to be decisive. I personally use the hydro often offensively to go up against smokes and even then, the default range works out. Meanwhile, if you have Bismarck secondary specced and got no concealment mod, in a T9-10 game, you'd not just be bottom tier, you'd also be outspotted by pretty much everyone. I'd argue that the steering gears mod is worth more than TAM in this slot, given it makes Bismarck actually somewhat agile, but neither is worth not getting concealment mod instead. -
Thanks for responding and passing it on.

Sorry if it's not the right format, but given I saw he's around right now, I thought I'd like to make sure @MrConway is aware of this. I know, this might not be the most pressing issue and I don't know how the earnings were so far, but from this topic, the announcement and most conversations I watched so far, people don't seem to be too thrilled about the bundles and the pricing of those. As people pointed out earlier in this thread, it's a bit strange when you basically pay more for an Azur Lane commander, which is an aesthetic thing, than you'd pay for a special commander, which has ingame benefits. Or when you buy an Aurora bundle where basically half the price tag seems to be neither captain nor ship, but the whole lot of utter stuff attached to it. So, I just wanted to politely inquire (if it's possible to disclose) what you think of these concerns, and also whether there's a later phase planned for this collaboration, as hinted towards by the wording of this being the "first iteration" of the collab. Also, just adding, could we get some hidden cooldown timer on these and the Haifuri captains regarding their lines on shooting the main guns or launching torps and such? I appreciate the effort for the voicelines, but with fast firing ships (like the Harekaze), it can get quite hectic.

Yeah, I mean, if you get shatters go for AP, if it pens. Given I have IFHE on the captain, I usually get few shatters though. Issue at 10 km, imo, is less pen. It's the shell arcs. At 4 km or so, you can pretty comfortably citadel cruisers though with a rather flat trajectory.

AR does affect secondaries. It originally did not, but got changed a long time ago. And please don't use secondary reload mod. Ever. Not even in a secondary build. Take main battery reload mod on T9-10 (or range mod, if you lack range) and get some meaningful benefit. If your secondaries do more damage than your main battery at T9-10, go learn how to play ships at lower tiers.

Another poorly designed cash grab?

Where did Cleveland camo go that they teased at the start? It looks less boring than the current camo and certainly can't be too silly for the people who approved Freedom camo. Depends on RoF. They don't say it every time, but obviously on a Harekaze it gets quite noticeable with 2.7 second gun reload and two torp launchers. On the other hand, Thea on Friedrich der Große meanwhile only spams her line every 24 seconds, which seems a bit less hectic.
-
Unless you pen citadels, the AP actually is garbage, because it has less damage than HE. I'd say Tachibana, because of the better torpedo power.
-
Hydro is annoying when you rely on torping the target, but on DoY, I wouldn't see it as viable to reliably use hydro in an offensive manner as you might see on German BBs who have armour that actually holds up.

Duke of York has no radar. Just had a match in the joint stealthiest DD of high tier. Whole enemy cruiser lineup had radar, from Indianapolis and Belfast to Buffalo and Kronshtadt. Still was quite playable. Getting radared at least half a dozen times is a bit eh, but when you know where to expect radar and wait it out behind an island, it's not too bad. Still managed to delay, lost because the other flank collapsed, but that's not exactly on the radar ships.

Well, the possibilities would've already been there this time to do a better job. Thus, even if it could be done better the next time, I'm hard-pressed to get my hopes up. Just needs some AL-inspired camo and a normal Type 10. If WG is too concerned about it making profit, normal permacamo without special bonuses, but an option to switch camo (which has always been an issue with ARP ships). If we look at the Siren camo, I doubt WG is terribly concerned with how sophisticated it would look. Tech tree Helena? Yes. Second iteration of this collab? Doubt it. It took long enough for the second part of Haifuri. Harekaze is my favourite ship in the game, I'd say. It's got clear weaknesses, but I never really feel useless in this ship and it also is likely the best IJN DD captain trainer. Also, the only serious IJN high-tier premium DD. as I just played her for the first time since the patch though, I must say, hearing Mei's "Ute" every 2.7 seconds can be a bit irritating.

HaachamaShipping replied to The_Wallet_Warrior's topic in General Discussion
I mean, if it works and it keeps working for you with good results, it's not the ship being OP, it's you being able to play Atlanta to her strengths. No need to blame the ship there. -
Anyone using HSF "K117" cammo instead of "normal" Permanent cammo "Type 20" for Yamato?
HaachamaShipping replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I'd use it, if I had a Yamato, because I'm cheap like that.
