Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)

I kind of gave up on Kancolle. Ever since the change to Phase 2, it takes ages to load things and quite frankly, I don't like having to wait 5 seconds just for it to open the dock or quests or whatever, just to play a game that frankly is by itself of little fun. Girls Frontline or Azur Lane have more interesting gameplay and are faster. Heck, I can play Honkai Impact 3rd on emulator and it is faster. I have no clue what is wrong with Kancolle, but frankly, I cannot find the motivation to open the game and that basically killed it for me. 95% of what is nice about the game is art and OST and that I don't need to play the game for...

    Acasta thoughts??

On Acasta, yes. Thing is, you keep these guns on the T6 with no improvements. As said, for T5, they are competitive. Though I'd not pick fights with anything USN or Russian. As others on the thread attested, Nicholas has better dpm and the Podvoisky takes you apart from range. you can beat a Podvoisky if it stays close, but any smart Podvoisky would move away on its speed advantage and gun you down from where your arcs make it hard to hit a DD. At that point, Acasta best uses a smoke and vanishes, instead of getting needlessly pummelled.

So, 139k is a decent damage for a game, right?

And for a Kurfürst, that'd not even be a dreadnought.

Can we get more of this?

At that point, you could just delete that area and make the map smaller.

    Acasta thoughts??

Those that share this feature of not being able to torp beyond their own max range are all ships that have no hard time gunning down an Acasta, are faster and have smokes that can be used more flexibly. Even Podvoisky is more efficient in being able to dakka down things at range, drawing fire, repositioning when needed and laying smokes for the team. I found Minekaze exciting too, but Minekaze also has some clear strengths. Acasta is a ship that likely is going to find its niche following, but overall will be among the less competitive ships at its tier, just alone because of its lack of strengths. It's two strong points are maneuverability (but not speed) and fire chance. It's exciting when you run into DDs and try to duel them, it's far less fun when things died or the flank gets overrun and you want to reposition. 35 knots are not much. Königsberg does 32.5 knots, Emerald does 33 knots, Omaha 34 knots, Furutaka 34.5 knots, Kirov 35.5 knots and Emile Bertin 39 knots. Two of the tech tree cruisers you can try to outrun, two are very close and you'll be running for quite some time to get away, two are outright faster and can run you down. I mostly play the ship for missions, because it is new and I want to get used to playing these slow boats with no speed boost. At later tiers, they get other strengths, but Acasta for itself, I find hardly competitive and playing it with a 19 pt commander is hardly the kind of experience people grinding this line will have. It also cannot outrun DDs that would be able to kill it, which makes it very fun not just at its own tier, but as it is T5, have fun vs T7. A Gneisenau or Hood have 32 knots speed... So, no, I consider the ship to have a lot of inbuild frustration potential, being strong at things that are low impact and not rewarded well and which are hard to translate into solid strengths. You get no speed boost, garbage speed and not even the hydro yet. Unlike other slow DDs, like Akizuki, you also have not gotten the ability to outgun most DDs you run into. I do not get what this ship really is supposed to be (and I fear for the line) with being ships that seem to generally favour staying near allies, due to the issues they have disengaging without support, yet they have smokes that are hard to use for anything but getting away (little team utility) and you are likely better suited running a RN CL in that role as fleet escort. At least an Emerald gets the hydro, has a repair party, gets a proper smoke and a ton of 7 km torps to harass enemies while it supports from its cloud with guns that might not be good, but are likely more effective than Acasta's. And it is rare that you ever get to say something decent about Emerald.

Yamato shells all over the place

Built-in aiming assistence. Without lock, game doesn't register exactly where exactly you are aiming and lock is also a way to shoot over, not into islands. The minimap circle helps now to gauge the correct place, but try to aim without lock and look at where the circle goes.

    Acasta thoughts??

Imagine you basically have one less km on the torps, but you got the same guns one tier lower. For T5, the guns are pretty competitive, imo. For T6, I got my doubts.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Our T8 [POI--] division yesterday shared a team with a T10 [SPUDS] division with @Kaseko in it. Was a pretty ok match. Haven't seen you as much on the boards as on Discord though.

You can unlock a target by pressing X. Basically, the game automatically locks onto a target when you look into the direction of a target. If there are multiple, it locks onto one. If you want to change it, try to look at the one you want lock on (so your aiming circle is on them) and X allows to manually lock on or off. Priority target to me is the go to 1 pt on any ship I play (except CV, but RIP CV). Because it tells me when someone is looking at me. It just is insanely useful, even if some people say you will just get shot at anyway and Preventive Maintainance is better. Anyway, as a battleship, I often find myself randomly locking on and off potential targets, just to test reaction. I do that also as a DD (switching from guns to torps or back). Do they turn or not after receiving a false positive. If they do, then I know, they pay attention and I'll see if I find a better target, if not, time to delete.

    Better than tanks?

Never played tanks, but WoWS got a lot better in this regard compared to its old self. Stock IJN BB with WWI stock hulls that had (at times literally) no AA even at T8, retarded stock range and handling. Stock Myogi in T6, back when CVs were still silly OP, those were the fun times. Get spotted from way beyond detection range (still a thing in stock, though they fixed it so there are no ships that can be spotted from further than they can return fire in top configuration), then get stealth fired by whatever wants to crap on you. Might be a Fuso that can be almost untouchable to you or a CV ends your misery. Some "fixes" these days are questionable, but a good few things we got in the past really helped.

Did you get any British DD-missions from the containers?

You read the stats wrong. It's only 28% for no ship, because first question allows to tick multiple boxes and if I got two ships, I already have twice the weight compared to someone who got no ships. Rather, out of 361 people who as of my posting voted, 151 did not get anything. That's about 42%, so about 58% got something. If we keep in mind that over 30% of voters spent on premium containers, the rate for drops from frees is likely rather low.

I lost my game, and not to players...

And that's where your argument (like so many others before it and so many to come) falls apart...

A few MVPs later... Now to wait for the patch with retrofit. Ajax is getting hers too. Guess I'll play some more Leander while waiting for it.

    Acasta thoughts??

Equip a camo for 6 km. Very helpful and worth the 7.5k for the most basic camo.

I lost my game, and not to players...

Reducing the influence of CVs on battles was entirely possible within the frameworks of the RTS setting. Just noone could be bothered. The RTS setting wasn't really unpopular (yes, there are those who say they find it boring, but there are also those who say they don't like playing BBs or DDs or whatever, because of how it plays like, CVs once upon a time weren't this unpopular). but it's the obvious thing to blame for WG instead of admitting that the RTS they did have was utter crap at times and riddled with issues that just kept accumulating and never were fixed. Neither of these two things will change. CV wants your DD shut down, they'll just rocket it till it dies. Dunno if this is better than being permaspotted. And any ship with bad AA will still just die, if the CV wills it and you don't have strong AA support. What changes is that CVs no longer can keep you permaspotted while wrecking someone else, but in exchange the AA changes and the way their new damage is supposed to work, stacking floods and fires, the one singled out is likely going to suffer even more. But it seems to be the common misconception of people to think when people say CVs are OP that it's about their ability to kill things, instead of their ability to spot half the map while killing things. And it'll be a rude awakening when CVs will just merrily keep killing things (the one thing left for them to do), because the notion of one ship killing other ships is not an issue. Else they'd remove the way BBs can often just crap on cruisers from any angle, with less counterplay than fending off an air strike.

NA - land of the free

Regardless of whether it is true or not, the real issue is that given the record, it could be true and few if anyone would be surprised. And it is not a good thing when players think like that about your staff.

    Acasta thoughts??

Must have been damage saturation in play. Leander has no real torp protection and Acasta torps are pretty standard for T5, so 4 torps would wreck you for 40k and up unmitigated. Just yesterday got devstriked in my Leander by two torps from a Huang He I just killed (totally messed that one up, no excuses) and those do barely more (14.4k vs 12k). Already had my high caliber and Kraken, so I don't feel like I hadn't pulled my weight, but still cost us the game... But honestly, the torps per se aren't bad, the range is.
  18. HaachamaShipping

    Acasta thoughts??

Yeah, but to be fair, it is frustrating being unable to torp targets that aren't pushing into you and even for torping around corners and such, it can be limiting. Yesterday I played some more Leander and frankly, I feel like I can almost do more with those torps than with Acasta's. Yes, you cannot torp past your concealment, but with 8 km torp range vs 8.8km concealment (8.7 km on Emerald, to get the same tier as Acasta), it isn't much harder to stealth torp pursuers. Leander has a way better torp reload than Icarus too and Emerald has double the number of torps compared to Acasta. And I'll not be going into having smoke with proper duration and hydro with actual range. Acasta at T5 pretty much is a small boat with dakka dakka guns that feels good (unless you need to reposition and you get to feel that speed) until you look at damage numbers and realise, most of the time it's far more exciting than efficient.

    NOT touching ranked ever again.

What happened to T7? If it's arms race, I don't see much of a change in randoms. Yesterday's T8 matches were mostly vs T10 and 1(!) match where I was top tier. Admittedly, that one match was very fun, as both teams got exactly one T8 BB and one T8 DD and I almost got a Kraken in Kii. But overall, the impact isn't ruining T7. Depends really. T8 cruisers are kinda messed up, but when you like a certain ship, it can still do ok. What about smoking or drugs in general? Or gambling? Or Ranked? There are things were knowing when to quit is genuinely good for you.

    NOT touching ranked ever again.

Pretty much called it at R5 yesterday. Not really stuck there, but I ran out of motivation to move further up after reaching that rank. The bit of steel and other stuff isn't worth my time and sanity. Add to that I don't even want a Stalingrad, just getting steel for whatever else they might ever put up. If you are good and play early on, you can put losses mostly down to enemy skill. If you play late in a season, it's quite often just who screwed up less. It might be actually faster to climb if you are good, but everyone is decent and not sabotaging your efforts, as well as more willing to coordinate, as you can pull more wins, than if the pool is filled with yolo players who die fast and you are basically just playing to keep your star half the time, which is stagnation and kinda frustrating. Same reasons as to why I prefer grinding in Clan Battles instead of Ranked.

Can we get more of this?

Mostly noticed that the islands west of centre cap were changed, as well as the large island inbetween C and D (new D, not old D). The first change I saw not much new there, the second change mostly just means there are corridors to shoot through, not so much to pass through. Don't steam broadside past them.

Could we get Belfast back in changed form?

Because both are sister ships and Belfast is just the version after they removed the torps later in Belfast's career. Belfast even gets the T8 module slot.

Yeah, I also mostly know it from the music. Also, great taste in that Bad apple version. I cannot remember how often i listened to it.

Could we get Belfast back in changed form?

Wouldn't it rather be T8 Edinburgh? Unplayable, lol. No, they just tried to get as many Belfasts out of the game as possible. The ship itself often enough shows it is perfectably playable. Just like the rest of the RN CL line. Ok, their lower tiers are not that great. You mean the ship that already sits at T8? Even has arctic camo.
  25. I joined during last CB season and in general, the people here are approachable and friendly. Not bad players, but also no tryhards, it's a rather casual, but active community, I found. There typically always is someone around to division up with. When looking for a laidback clan for a nice time while also getting a bit better at the game, I think you certainly can find that here, as well as Poi memes, obviously.
