    No. Just T9/10.

    Upcoming T5 Ranked

Hood is 32 knots. It's one of the fastest, though even at T7, not that special. Now, at T5, you get your 21 knot dreadnoughts, Iron Duke at 22.5 knots, König at 24 knots, Giulio Cesare at 27 knots, which basically leaves your dreadnoughts in the dust and Kongo at 30 knots, which is almost Hood (and frankly, Kongo has a far greater advantage on average than Hood has). And it must not be underestimated what difference it can make whether a BB can keep up with the cruisers to reach a cap or whether it'll still be stuck in transit. Also, until recently, Iron duke and König couldn't shoot at 18 km out. Few people care though, because shooting stationary targets 18 km out is kind of a not very useful ability compared to all the things where NY sucks, not to mention, Kongo can do it better with IJN dispersion pattern and better range.

Yeah, because experienced players will look out for some newbie to tutor and not just ask equally experienced clan mates to help in sealclub ranked...

I think the issue is, most of your better enemies will also know what your ship is like. I think, a lot in the end will come down to player skill. Giulio isn't some utter faceroll where you don't need to have any skill either. It's just that experienced players can get a lot out of it. And I think if you are up against one of the OP T5s, your best bet is to work on ensuring that they never can play to their biggest advantages. With a div mate, that's also easier. Not going to say Giulio isn't scary. I own one, the thing is just stupidly OP, but I am trying to play something else for fun. In T5 ranked sprint, 2-person div will be allowed.

    Upgrades and prem consumables

Yes. Depends on what consumables and what upgrades. e.g. premium damage control is already a great thing at T3, as smaller ships lose modules often and BBs get set on fire often. Premium repair party is also of immense value on every ship that has repair party. Meanwhile, catapult aircraft, hydro and defAA are less mandatory to take the premium version, if you are working on a tight budget. If you make good credits though, even those can be of the premium quality. Modules, at lower tiers, modules are nice, but not too mandatory. For pure grind, you can forsake them. On keeper ships, I'd put them on. On T6+, I'd fit modules though, because they gain a lot of value. e.g. AA range mod is great at T6+, because defensive AA becomes a thing, so extending the disruptive bubble is way better than with lower tiers where you more rely on dodging autodrops and your catapult fighter. Also, at T6 you get rudder shift mod, damage control mod 2 or propulsion mod, all which have value for certain ship types. T8 brings concealment mod which is a must have. T9 brings another set of modules which are basically a must have. But by then, you should have sorted out your credit economy. Frankly, a T9 costs about 20 million credits to buy, 13 million for the ship, 7 million for the modules. Another 4-5 million for whatever upgrades you unlock with free exp.

If it's cruiser meta (which I doubt) or DD meta, yes. If it's BB meta, no. Kongou I'd deem a solid budget pick. If Giulio didn't exist, it'd be best pick.

That "+95%" figure is pulled out your rearend and WG can be wrong, duh. We got enough broken crap over the years despite people calling out the stuff during testing, but WG didn't want to listen.

    Upcoming T5 Ranked

Thing is, so did König and Iron Duke. They all got spotter plane. Only Bretagne didn't (one more reason I consider it the worst BB at T5, in addition to insanely low hp and basically mediocre to garbage in all other categories) and the premiums don't (but they really don't deserve buffs). And in a purely T5 random game, you basically get 12 vs 12 with most people being silly, in Ranked, yeah okay, you still get 7 vs 7 with no clue at the worse ranks, but at higher ranks, I expect experienced people who are far harder to deal with than random players one can sealclub. Also, depending on what maps we play with, it's to be seen whether the cover provided is sufficient or not, as is the speed. On Big Race, Texas is way less terrible tha on Estuary for example, or Two Brothers. Heck, Fault Line is just terrible for Texas. Iron Duke is better in fighting, sadly it's barely faster. But at least it is faster. It still got the old range. But now with a spotter plane that can extent the range and (more valuable) give the improved vision. Also, Artillery Plotting Room 1 exists, extenting NM range to 18.65 km. Not like you'd reliably hit things beyond that range anyway.
  10. I grinded it post-patch. It's pretty ok. First game, stock ship. First long range salvo on Stalingrad. Citadel. Ship had its downsides, but with such a start, it's hard to hate it. And it has genuine strengths.
  11. It's a decent ship though. The new deck is just lulzy when you have no real superstructure.

Frankly, I've considered the value of Texas for CV div, but I'm not entirely convinced. For one, this div basically focuses on the CV. You bring a NY to the fight in terms of surface potential, just to enable the CV more. So, the CV has to make up the slack. If it can't, then, well... And at T5, with autodrop only, it can be somewhat hard. Not impossible, but it certainly isn't like a high tier CV+AA ship div. Next, Texas itself has two issues, first, it is slow, so it might be your team outruns its AA protection. At which point, it loses its value quite a bit. Also, Texas' AA is mostly in small caliber guns. If it gets HE spammed, then that's it for the Texas. Zuihou itself isn't a terrible pick, imo, Because it'll be mirror-matched against another CV, but I'd consider the Texas too easily outplayed for this to work and a Texas apart from its AA value is basically not a good ship.
  13. I'd like one of the class too, but I'd first like see other things fixed. I mean, I'd not buy a premium Tegetthoff-class just to be plagued by numerous other issues. Patriotism only goes so far... Also, I still think of all new content, Italy deserves a tech tree addition first as the last not yet represented party to the naval treaties. Also, how should I do the spirit of Tegetthoff justice with no Italians to shoot at (and GC is going to murder me...)?
  14. Well, I voted pasta, because I took two other common issues with the other two and felt like using the third to show that Italy imo should receive a line before Soviets get yet another line of mostly paper. I'd even say one Italian line, preferably cruisers, before French DDs and before anything Pan-European.

    Pretty much.
  16. Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks Italians deserve priority. Sadly we'lll first see Soviet BalanseBotes before that. And likely a few other things few ever asked for.

You know, Harugumo can move and shoot at the same time. Unless you have anyone on the other side of the smoke screen to spot or the map ends there... Also, it's funny because basically, there can be another DD. There only ever is one CV against your Worcester and let's be real, if a Haku sends a single torp bomber squad in to bait, that squad dies from your baseline AA. It'd be dead if your teammate wouldn't mess up. Also, a deplaned carrier basically is not going to encounter you, unless you let them. Well, thank WG for that. It's not what CV players were asking for, though hardly was the change in playstyle. This is more one of those silly things WG brought up, not an inherent issue with CVs being unbalanceable. How about you just reduce the influence of CVs without throwing out the entire playstyle? It's not like you cannot find other ways to reduce the permaspotting issue or their power against ships. And no, it's not inherently unbalanceable because CVs were so hilariously OP IRL, because if IRL was the way to go, BBs would just crap on all other surface combattants, given the DDs cannot creep ip to 6 km unspotted in clear weather conditions, nor are secondaries limited to ranges of 11.6 km at most.Ships are already being brought in line to create an artificial game balance, CVs can have that too. But for that, you don't need to gut the RTS style. It's just, WG has no idea how to fix the current gameplay. I mean, why the hell are CVs the sole class where you need to build your ship against? defAA and hydro in the same slot and the need for light cruisers to pick IFHE for proper damage does a lot to make AA an inconsistent mess, where to CVs a hydro Kutuzov with no AA skills is an easy kill (unless you're maybe a T6 CV), while a full AA build Kutuzov is a 14 km diametre aura of nope. And obviously, the less CVs there are, the less people spec into this, the more they get wrecked. It's basically the same as to what keeps an asashio from murdering your BBs. Don't solo yolo around. And a CV or Asashio that is relegated to spotting only still does something, but it is hardly useful and when it gets spotted, dies without having done anything that gets rewarded. And let's be real, if you cannot be attacked by a CV anymore, it's just a matter of time till a team can corner them and kill them off without issue, given CVs don't have "raid boss" grade defenses. Heck, a few days ago I was surprised I nuked a Ranger with 8 HE cits. Learned that thing has DD grade armour over an exposed citadel. Honestly, what gives, as if it wasn't bad enough (Hiryuu has actual armour plating). A nerf which didn't necessitate throwing out the playstyle altogether. The main issue with CVs is and was that noone ever properly explained people what to do. Ok, there was a time, when people learned the hard way, back when CVs were ridiculously OP and you basically started to hug each other because it was either that or instant death at the hands of sky cancer. But as the CV population declined and people stopped caring, nowadays, this basic counterplay is nowhere to be found and people can get insane WR on their CVs. Similarly, new CV players have no clue what they are doing most of the times and the game doesn't tell them how to alt attack. Or that this option exists... That's an issue with low tier AA vs high tier CV. Not with same tier AA against same tier CV. Throw a Zuihou against bunched up Omahas and watch that autodrop fail vs catapult planes. And yes, there are matches where you are a T7 CV against largely T5-6 opponents, but I find these matches no more a competition between the two top dogs than when two top tier BBs are matched largely against opponents two tiers lower. That's when the potatoes might still potate, but even I with my non-unicum stats can easily pull 4-5 kills and slaughter my way through the competition.

I tell you, the raid boss that can be overcome by just staying together to pool defenses must be the most boring raid boss ever. That's not so much a raid boss as it's the traps in the dungeon that are overcome by acting smart, while the moron who ignores their threat just dies, but typically with some awareness and low-effort countermeasures can be overcome.

It suffices when any teammate provides passive spotting. Doesn't even need to intent to. Also, Harugumo will melt Worchester in under 40 seconds (if the Worcester is full hp). Unless it's an idiot that sits still, you're dead. I mean, if you can blindfire the Harugumo fast enough. Also, killing the spotter is only possible if it isn't just another DD. Also, you again cannot recognise that a CV that lost their planes is basically dead. A BB or CA measure their influence in remaining armament mounts and hp, because that is what they have to influence a game. A CV measures it in planes, because the vessel itself is basically not going to win anything, the rare secondary GZ being maybe an exception vs idiots that charge it. But pretty much any CV without planes that tries to fight with the ship will find that even ships two tiers lower can handily murder it without breaking a sweat. And ingame, it's not even like there is a difference whether my ship survives or not, if I lose my influence and am mission killed, because there are no awards to be won and no service costs to be saved.

    Upcoming T5 Ranked

Congrats, you also got the one T5 ship that is worse than New York. Both ships are absolute garbage and regardless of where the meta will go, they will always trail behind the rest, because their faults are universal and their strengths almost nonexistent. T5 not only suffers from OP premium BBs, but pretty much some of the tech tree ships are clearly superior. Hierarchy pretty much goes: Giulio Cesare (how the hell did Italy lose the Mediterranean?) Kongo/Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya (depending on meta) König/Iron Duke (likely better for people who cannot get the full potential out of the above choices) Texas (strictly better than New York, only can pretent being useful in CV div) New York Bretagne (New York that trades in hp for AA. Get a Texas instead, or any ship that actually has strengths) And there is a clear dividing line between the first three ranks and the latter three. A König or Iron Duke on equal skill are just better than the New York and Texas and after two Iron Duke salvos, a Texas reverts down to New York tier, given its small caliber AA dies.

If someone keeps the Worcester spotted, once radar runs out, a Harugumo could smoke up 8 km away and melt it down without issue. And Worcester is supposed to counter DDs. Funnily enough, only Harugumo can do that reliably, but among CVs, it's also just those with AP bombs, because a Hakuryu would still just get little for its effort with normal bombs. So, rather than the class itself being able to do it, one tool available to a few within the class can do it.

Battleships are now made of firewood and a joke to play.

Was my first T9. Hated it. Tried survivability spec. Ended up on 40% WR, because what is the point? You basically are a large ship that is kinda hard to kill, but that struggles killing anything else. Changed to secondary spec afterwards, because then I have at least one thing almost noone else does better (cough Alsace cough) and finished on 44% WR. I got 2 other T10s before I invested 90k free exp on getting Kurfürst and sold the FdG a few days ago.

Battleships are now made of firewood and a joke to play.

Bismarck. Add 15k hp. Make centre deck 80 mm. Increase the entire size (aka target area) of the ship, decrease maneuverability, increase caliber to 406 mm with a de facto 2 second reload buff (unless you don't take reload mod for whatever reason). Nerf concealment and make the turret angles worse. Give it better hydro to compensate for having a harder time dodging anything. Frankly, I prefer playing Bismarck in T10 matches compared to FdG, because Bismarck at least is subtle in comparison and when I do damage I get the befitting xp modifier. Kurfürst after it is better too. imo, WG should either give this ship an accuracy buff or improve the turret angles. Izumo now is a better ship in most areas and is way more fun than this floating hunk of junk.
