As said, after 5 minutes, half of them are dead. Also, most don't have long-range torps so if you have an idea of how long torps need to go from point A to point B, the potential threat is a good bit smaller, because often islands, friendly ships, etc. make torping pointless.
  2. Kronshtadt has a citadel roof at the extreme ends that can get overmatched, which can be nasty. From LWM's review of the ship: That 15 mm part. Easily wrecked. And no, when not at autobounce, 230 mm belt is not going to hold off BB ammunition much better than your typical CA belt.
  3. Vs BB: Kronshtadt has only more hp and better belt. Aim at upper belt, aim at bow, you absolutely wreck the ship, given it is 25 mm all over (even Ibuki has 30 mm sections to help). If it shows broadside, it gets easily multicitadelled. The ship is a lot of hp, but also so massive, you can't miss it and it's hard to dodge in it, nor does it have any other survivability tools. Worst concealment, no smoke, not suited for island camping. And I tell you, no cruiser ever got millions of potential damage from armour bouncing off shells. Vs DD: 34% torp belt is nice. But not eating a lot of torps in the first place, because you can actually dodge is nicer. Vs cruisers: fires go through all hp as fast. 1v1, any other CA will crap on Kronshtadt, because they can just angle to autobounce degrees and dpm it down. Even Seattle can do that. Or torp the Kron. And you can claim they aren't larger, but really? Kronshtadt is larger than a Hindenburg, it compares to a Gneisenau, though Gneisenau sits lower in the water and Kronshtadt only gets surpassed by proper BBs at its tier. Similarly, Kronshtadt has concealment on the leve of a Donskoi. Which basically has the worst concealment at the tier. That's like saying Stalingrad has decent concealment for a cruiser, because Moskva exists. Alaska has no AA issues, but also can't snipe across the map, unless you sit stationary or don't know how to dodge. Moskva has huge weaknesses too. Low dpm and absolute horrid survivability from the side. Also atrocious concealment. It's not a bad T10 cruiser, but it certainly doesn't outperform the others when played properly. No other T10 cruiser dies as fast when showing side than a Moskva, except Minotaur. And with its massive size, hitting it isn't hard, even at range. It can take an insane beating from the front (unlike Kronshtadt, given Moskva has bow and deck armour worth a damn), but make a mistake and you die. Even Zao is way more forgiving, not to mention that Zao isn't outspotted by a Yamato or Concealment build Kurfürst. Moskva can wreck cruisers 18 km away, but basically any cruiser with such range can wreck broadside Moskva too and given the size of the ship, good luck getting out before you die, despite massive hp pool. Cruisers are more than just belt armour, a bunch of hp and gun size, which is basically why Worcester can be insane, despite being uninspiring in all three categories.

The issue here is, if you manage to dodge torps, reload is 1-2 minutes typically, if not longer. If you manage to dodge a HE salvo, the next one is already in the air, if not multiple. If you have an idea of how torp boats operate and where they are, it isn't hard to still push up, especially with other ships you can support and which kinda screen you (even if they might not actually try to, any ship in front of you is basically screening). It's why in games with Asashio, you basically don't camp in some silly position in the back, but you follow your DDs and cruisers, avoid straightlining and you are mostly fine. Might still eat the occasional torp, but rarely devastating.

Yeah, but you'll never have to farm them then. There's like 6 BBs and 6 cVs that actually feature retrofits and a ton of cruisers and DDs. And most BB retrofits are aviation BBs. Dunno if they are worth a lot.
  6. One of our clan members claimed Huang He is competitive with Perth and is a really good ship. I already feel like Perth fire power can be lackluster, but one less gun turret?

After 5 minutes it's down to 1-2 DDs per side (sometimes even 0) and the BBs still camp. So, I don't know where the fun is, but the DDs didn't take it away.
  8. And least battles except for Admiral Makarov. I guess most potatoes don't bother with the ship and only the hardcore Huang He pros stick with it. In the top 5%, Huang He actually is #2 in WR after Perth, followed by De Grasse, Dallas and then the Spees.

Errrrr..... what just happened to wows?

Well, at least your permacamo has only economic benefits. Ovechkin has performance perks.
  10. And are all too easy to kill, because their armour is not BB level and the whole ship can't be missed. The issue with the 6th BB analogy is, only the guns are really comparable to BB guns (and even then lack the overmatch). The rest of the ship, lolno. There are legit T7 BBs that are better to tank damage in than these things and the large hp pool doesn't make up for it. It makes up for being massive in size, thus also suffering in concealment, but when a BB shoots a Kronshtadt, this is not a T9 BB. It maybe is comparable to a T7 BB of the squishy sort, but trading in a T9 ship for a T7 ship of another category is OP now? A bad T7 BB that needs radar to not just be worse than Scharnhorst (massive hp pool does not outweigh having actual armour to not lose the hp in the first place and Scharnhorst gets torpedoes). And guess what, Kronshtadt and Alaska are basically the worst DD hunters as far as radar cruisers go. While BB AP pens on DDs hurt and are annoying, it is still pretty much RNG unreliably whether the 1-2 salvos you get off at a DD can do that or not. Donskoi or Buffalo HE doesn't gamble as much. You just eat a lot of damage or die. And given their concealment, these T9 cruisers also don't make a more potent radar threat over their tech tree counterparts. Kronshtadt makes a good torp target though when radar is down. Kronshtadt kind of compensates with Russian 11.7 km radar, something Alaska cannot, but compared to Alaska, Kronshtadt also has one other issue...its AA is atrocious. Donskoi is way better in that regard. While CVs are not common, they still do exist and are scheduled to be made more popular. And Kronshtadt vs Donskoi isn't Musashi vs Izumo, where Musashi AA is non-existent, but Izumo AA was never sufficient either. Kronshtadt and Alaska, for all the BB claims made, are basically great when they can get into the right position to make their strengths felt, but they fall apart fast when they are caught out of position. They can alpha strike across the map (though with accuracy that is less than stellar for a cruiser) but they lack dpm and overmatch (which is still important). Also, does Moskva powercreep other T10 cruisers? It can punish broadsides across the map. It also has more hp (and actual armour). Guess that thing must be the best T10 cruiser there is, Worcester with its dpm but fewer hp or Zao with stealth torps and good concealment must be uncompetitive crap... oh wait.

I today realised I can craft purple blueprints from 6 blue ones. Well, that speeds up my Ajax retrofit efforts quite a bit. 3 purple BPs still needed. Afterwards come Fortune, Long Island and Hammann, I guess. Last just because that character is just too much of a meme. I don't know what the person in charge of that design thought, but it's just, because one character archetype wasn't enough, let's slap everything together and make a tsundere loli neko maid... Levelling her with smug cat Sims and bunny girl Benson. Also, regarding Sims, bought the ship in WoWS. WR is pretty great, but 404, damage not found. If you don't care about the damage numbers though, hilarious.

I'm not offended, just confused. And I'd just keep the silly statements out, not make more of them.
  13. The main issue is, these ships aren't really OP. Well, Giulio is, but the cruisers largely are not. It's just easier to not die to mistakes when you have a lot of hp, but any cruiser that knows what you are doing can just spam you into the ground and any BB that doesn't have more pressing targets can look at you like a damage pinata. And as you said before, Kronshtadt is like a 6th BB... that assumes two things. First, that somehow a 6th BB is worth a lot in randoms, instead of randoms already being kinda saturated. It's not like this is CB, where a second BB would be immensely powerful. Second, that other T9 cruisers that catch your side are somehow less harmful. They aren't. Show your side to an attentive Roon/Buffalo/Donskoi and you'll lose most of your hp in short order. Buffalo has more than enough broadside alpha to delete a cruiser and better accuracy than Alaska (similarly, Pensacola can oneshot cruisers just as well at T6).
  14. By that reasoning Giulio is fine because it only is the best T5 in T7, but T7 BBs still outclass it.

Being shot by team for not 'obeying'

Pink doesn't ban you anywhere. It just makes you pink. Only if you keep TKing you get restricted to coop.
  16. From personal experience in the ship, I have to disagree. These guns can dish out a world of pain and they can hit things pretty reliably. I didn't think too much of it at first, but by now, it's my favourite T6 cruiser after Leander and Perth. And stats kind of show that the ship has to be able to hit things, because how else is it second in overall WR, despite being almost as prolific as a tech tree ship. Also, few people consider this powercreep at T6. It's now at T9 that somehow people have all the complaints for whatever reason.
  17. And what of this doesn't apply already to Graf Spee? For a Nürnberg, a Graf Spee's guns are functionally another set of BB guns in every way and can citadel it hard if it looks down upon them.

If they aimed from the very start. But they likely first waited for like 10-15 before deciding the DD took too long.

Being shot by team for not 'obeying'

That's not trying hard. It took the ally a few seconds, given they likely didn't aim for it from the start.

Being shot by team for not 'obeying'

If you know how, a stationary ally is not really hard to hit. I don't shoot allies on purpose, but your crosshair shows how far away you are aiming. Point it at the allied ship, adjust till the stated range coincides with the distance between ally and you shown above the ship and left click. Alternatively, use the minimap circle. The main thing lockon screws with is adjusting for movement, but a ship sitting still...
  21. I mean, for pure gameplay, whether you got one gun turret at the front at T6 or two at T9, it really doesn't make much of a difference. The main thing is, T9 cruisers can angle to autobounce your 6 shells, no T6 cruiser can easily tank Graf Spee shells. They can take them on the belt, but that's it. Shoot at the nose and it'll go through. Against AP, cruiser AP bounces off. BB AP does not, unless you shoot the belt. Shoot Kronshtadt's bow or upper belt or have it overmatch the deck, it's all the same. Similarly, you can just wreck Alaska. And I really doubt your Kronshtadt vs Roon claim. For all intents and purposes, the Roon doesn't need to kite. It can just stay there and HE spam you with 6 rearguns till you die. Whether you shoot from 4 km or 20 km, you'll still not overmatch and if you get too close, most T9 cruisers have a set of torps, Kronshtadt doesn't. You can shoot AP back, but it'll not do much. you can shoot HE, Roon will still be better. Even worse against ships with actually good HE. And not only are fires percentage-based, so your 20k additional hp doesn't matter, Kronshtadt has 45 second fire duration, so fires hurt disproportionally more if they are left to burn. Also, Kronshtadt has 25 mm bow armour, deck armour, stern armour. Except for the belt, which intelligent people can easily avoid shooting (unless the Kronshtadt shows broadside, then you can just citadel it to crap), the Kronshtadt is armoured worse than a damn Hipper.

And what does true men mean? What are false men? And what for women that don't want to be masculine? Am I playing the wrong game?
  23. Apart from gun arrangement, the comparison between Kronshtadt/Alaska and Scharnhorst quickly ends, when you look at armour profile. Scharnhorst is a German BB, immune to citadels, resistant to most HE, has a lower bow that can bounce Musashi (and won't encounter Yamato). It also has 350 mm belt, just to shrug off most AP, as long as it isn't showing broadside. Scharnhorst is by all means an undergunned BB and not a cruiser. Now look at Kronshtadt or Alaska vs Graf Spee. Yes, Graf Spee has a different gun arrangement, but its guns are barely smaller and having fewer 3 tiers lower is kind of to be expected. Armour-wise, Graf Spee like the T9s shrugs off cruiser AP while angled, but can be easily damaged by any and all HE thrown at it. None of their armour holds up to same tier BBs except at the belt. Graf Spee by all means is harder to citadel by same tier BBs than a Kronshtadt by T9 BBs and Alaska only is better due to submerged citadel. But compared to other T6s, Graf Spee's citadel is the best you could get, not extending above the waterline and being fairly protected from the front and rear. Nürnberg shot from the front or Pensacola shot from the front will likely get overmatched and give citpens when hit, Graf Spee gives mostly regular pens. Kronshtadt cannot boast that kinda survivability tier for tier. Tier for tier, Graf Spee is pretty much the same kind of ship as the two T9 free exp cruisers. By angle, I mean autobounce. and I don't see it really as powercreep. Yes, it has a lot of hp and big guns. It has garbage dpm, worse concealment, worse accuracy and the armour is very much cruiser levels. Is it powerful? Sure. But so is Roon or most properly played T9 cruisers. Ibuki or Seattle might disagree, but that's more an issue with those ships than the other two.
  24. I consider IFHE Kurfürst the only real Kurfürst. If you don't like it, go play Montana. It might be inefficient (like Kurfürst in general), but don't let your memes be dreams. It's what I bought this ship for. IFHE secondaries and Kurfürst LU. One day...
