    Operation Narai

Yes, to highlight it, none of its citadel is placed directly against the outer hull. HE should only ever score pens. Also, 51 mm deck means, if you cannot pen directly at the waterline, that deck bounces any AP shells.

    Yūbari, yay or nay?

Yuubari was pretty much used as a Destroyer Leader, like the 5.5k ton cruisers (Kuma, Nagara and Sendai classes) before it and the Agano-class after it. These light cruisers were all intented to head a Torpedo Squadron or Destroyer Squadron (however you want to translate the original Japanese term), made up of the light cruiser and several Destroyer Divisions (made up solely of destroyers, e.g. DesDiv 6 of the four Akatsuki-class sisters). As was typical and the very purpose of destroyer leaders, these larger vessels were there to provide a vessel large enough to comfortably command the operations of the crammed DDs. Naturally, as Yuubari was rather small and not too powerful, it was often reassigned and used as replacement vessel for other IJN CLs. DesRon 6 which was mentioned before and where she was flagship also was basically made up of Kamikaze and Mutsuki class DDs, so, some of the oldest DDs the IJN still had in service. Here, for an extensive record. In terms of history, Yuubari certainly is an interesting ship and well worth any excess coal you might have and are willing to spend. Otherwise, she's dirt cheap in shop. Not OP, but quite comfortable in everything but torpedo angles. Imo, a good design for when you want to play low tiers in a ship that is reliable, but not overpowering (unlike a good few other low tier premiums).

    Operation Narai

I think King is a Ranger, in which case, the citadel is slightly offset towards the back and hardly protected. Found that out when I IFHE devstriked a Ranger once in Helena by unloading a close range HE broadside at an angled Ranger right on its citadel. If it's a Lexington, look up the armour model in port.

Interaction of large-caliber AP shells with DDs

A secondary buff would not meaningfully affect its performance against cruisers or BBs and would mainly just help against yolo-rushes of DDs. And at range, losing the little chance of full penning a DD is not going to break the ship. It's still a dumb thing to do if the BB pays attention and reacts.
  5. Guess second flag will have to wait for Brit CVs.

Interaction of large-caliber AP shells with DDs

Nassau only is the best performing tech tree BB at its tier. Honestly, I'd rather see Graf Spee buffed in ways to compensate for the decrease in DD killing power than to see an exception for two already strong BBs.

    Operation Narai

It's totally farmable with proper flag loadout. Doesn't even need stellar results to get good free exp with right camo and signals. (that's Sea Star and Assistent btw)

Buff Spee secondaries? Or give it hydro on seperate slot? Pls no T6 radar.

Interaction of large-caliber AP shells with DDs

Fun fact, in any situation where you can't shoot at the target, this change does exactly nothing to change that. Maybe try get the DDs killed while you still have support. I guess it is why everyone shoots the DDs first, or at least tries to see if they have a clear line of fire once they pop up. DDs have counters, BBs are not supposed to be among the hard counters though, yet, getting blapped by BB was actually a thing.
  10. So, will we be able to mount two flags on our RN ships now or what are the rewards? Because I always was conflicted on whether to dismount the Trafalgar or Iron Duke flag from my RN ships to mount the AL flag like I do with any ship that has an AL captain.

Interaction of large-caliber AP shells with DDs

Why would they be unaffected? It affects any caliber above 280 mm. This includes Scharnhorst, but also Graf Spee, Kronshtadt and Stalingrad.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

I feel with you. Played GK, RNG said no to getting any cits. Switched to Yamato. RNG still said nope. Decided it was not my day to play BBs. Switched to Yuugumo. I swear, those friggin gaps...

Tonights games were mostly awful for me, but there were some decent games with @GarrusBrutus and @Leo_Apollo11 on my team. Thanks for doing hard work, GarrusBrutus, and sadly it wasn't enough in our game together Leo_Appolo11, but still thanks.
  14. First off, no, they still aren't going to be the second most survivable for all the reasons I listed. Especially at high tier, where cruisers get armour that bounces most BBs and repair party, the DD stays the most fragile of all classes. Short of Yamamoto and three special DDs, any damage to a DD sticks and a BB overpen still removes about as much hp percentage wise from DDs as full pens do from most cruisers. And that's just this one case. Get blapped by actual BB HE or by cruiser HE and the difference in survivability is enormous, when your cruiser can take like 10k damage from an HE salvo and yeah, ok, it's 20% of your hp gone, but you can repair most of it back, while a Dd loses 50% or more of its hp in this case and is just screwed. Also loses most of its modules. Or how about eating a torp. Potato in a cruiser and eat an IJN torp and it hurts, but you likely get away. Potato in a DD and you're dead. And don't give me crap about the insane skill it takes to blap a DD, or the mistakes that need to be made. With BB dispersion, you basically just try to get the lead correct and that's basically it, because RNG does the rest. Similarly, it's just terrible design that when you run into something like a Cleveland or Chapayev that can (almost) stealth radar you, even if you do everything right to survive that cruiser, you might just die, because one of the BBs aimed into your general direction and hit you for full pens. But I guess that DD misplayed, because he wouldn't just sit broadside on to a friggin Chapayev and let itself get HE murdered in 20 seconds. A cruiser would have a completely different situation to start with.
  15. No armour, no hp, mostly no repair party, mostly no meaningful AA. Certainly, the most survivable of all ship classes....
  16. Graf Spee gets shafted a bit. But let's be real. The ship was never good vs DDs and continues not being too good against DDs. AP full pens typically were either a lucky shot or taking out a DD trying to rush you, in which case, I guess now you have to be more careful and have to work them over with crappy HE. Despite liking the Graf Spee a lot, I take it in return for never again having to listen to people claiming Kronshtadt is a good anti-DD ship. I don't know many ships that have large above water torp bulges without already having crappy plating all over the ship. Like, Amagi might have an insane torp bulge, but getting penned in the bulge still hurts less than getting penned next to the bulge where it's 32 mm.

Yeah, as I said before when I gave Leander my ring, it's a bit overdone. But hey, once and never again. Sadly, Leander has no wedding skin though. Her normal one has to make do. Also, finally got this one done. Hammann needs like 10 more levels to get retrofitted.
  18. 170 damage per hit though, if the bulge previously ate them. You aren't going to kill anything anytime soon.

I added that solo for a reason. Same with line. Your Flint stats are basically pointless when playing RN BBs. Just like it would be pointless to look at the PR I get when playing Ishizuchi for whether I should play Worcester or not. If you get positive WR somewhat consistently in your grind towards T10, you should be fine at T10. If you just manage to get yellow PR, but not even a positive WR, thanks, but git gud. Or at least good enough to carry your weight.

    Upcoming T5 Ranked

GZ is broken, but not OP. Just sucks if your CV is crap. But Prinz Eugen and Kidd? Yeah, they are ok picks, but far from OP. Heck, I'd rate Prinz Eugen as competitive, but not even top tier cruiser. Cleveland or Chapayev are both more useful ships.

    Conqureror

Take all the numbers of battles in a line and base it on that. I mean, if you for example have 55% WR in most German cruisers, but 44% in 60 battles in Hipper (while keeping an upward damage and PR trend), that indicates an outlier. But if your WR in general just goes to crap, then it's not an outlier, you either need to improve, or if the number of battles is too low, stop free exping ships.

Dunno, in a lineup of 12 vs 12, Conqueror is nasty, but I typically find them not much worse than your other typical HE spammers. And as Yamato, I actually fear them less than I fear other Yamatos. In a 1v1 situation, Asashio is the best BB killer. I strongly believe that noone should go to T10 without positive solo WR in a line. If you have consistently crap WR throughout your grind, then no, that isn't crap MM RNG, sorry. And PR is easily farmed with some damage farming. RN BBs actually are the best example of getting yellow or better PR while having crap WR. Just fire HE all game at BBs. Over a large amount of games, your solo WR meanwhile measures quite well how much you were able to impact the games you were in. And while you say kills and damage doesn't get counted in WR, I disagree. If you do useful damage and get important kills (DDs for example), that obviously will help win more games as will actions largely ignored by PR, such as spotting and contesting. For example, yesterday I had a pretty crappy Yuugumo game, contesting a cap vs Fletcher backed by Seattle and Des Moines and a couple BBs that fought our BBs. I could have wandered off to farm damage elsewhere, it would've cost us the flank. Instead, I did my best to not surrender the cap without a struggle and after a few encounters killed the Fletcher. My damage total was piss poor until I devstriked an Alsace later (but for T9 DD, still piss poor), but it's what kept the flank up and allowed the other flanks to win the game. But most of what I did would be basically ignored by PR, yet it's these unrewarded tasks that need to be done at times to keep the team afloat. And let's be real, if you only care about PR, why are you bothered about people getting to T10 with crap PR? Because they are bad for the team? Yeah well, I take a 55% yellow PR player over a 44% cyan PR player. One knows how to be useful for the team consistently and not be selfish.

I prefer BFT over DE. The firepower buff helps most against DDs and base fire chance is already good. I take 11% increased firepower (and increased fire setting from more shells) over 22% increased fire setting (less if you use signal flags). I played Aigle a bit recently, given I finally got around to spend the commander exp to get a proper captain and it's a strong ship, though if I had to play something like Ranked, I'd definitely prefer the Shinonome over it. Overall seems more flexible.

    Rate of Fire

Cold war 5 inch guns achieve 40 rpm, 100 mm guns achieved 78 rpm. Fun fact, no 8 inch gun ever managed to hit Des Moines' 5.5 seconds reload. Des Moines IRL hit 6 seconds. The only DDs that manage these insanely low numbers are the high tier RN and IJN alt line DDs, which do so by taking their best case designed for performance stats of their guns and improve on that by using fantasy land reload mod, BFT and AR. These last three are hard to evaluate, because these also affect other ships and it is hard to argue that a sub 20 sec Yamato on Yamamoto+AR+Reload mod is any more sane, and to be fair to the DDs, their base stats at least reflect what these guns could achieve under perfect conditions. And if you look at ships like Kirov, the difference between designed/perfect conditions testing RoF and RoF in practical conditions, makes the disparities of the Jutland/Daring and Type 98 10 cm/65 look pretty tame.
