  1. Guess the game must have a Russian, Japanese, German, French, British, Italian, Pan-Asian and Argentine bias to varying degrees then, for making all these nations with ships that perform way better than what you could expect of the RL navies they represent. It'd make more sense to complain about why Italian ships have not yet been implemented, but that the Russian tech tree line overall got implemented is hardly glorification nor is the way it was implemented even broken. The ships are mostly decent, hardly OP. The few that are ridiculous are mostly premiums... but then there exist Flint, Belfast, Giulio Cesare, Kamikaze and it's more a broken premiums problem than a genuine Russian bias problem.

What is your most frustrating "Premium" ship?

Texas. at the end of the day, it's just a New York with specialisation that matters not in half the games.
  3. Wishing for utopia and being salty about it being unfeasable is a bit pointless though. If we went by real life abilities, there'd just be a huge empty void for example in high tiers, with only a select few ships making it to T10. Also, Chapayev's abilities are, for WoWS standards, not far from RL. The thing you objected to was that the ship was at T8 despite being 50s and that it had a consumable. If you wanted to keep it close to RL without radar and balanced, the ship would replace Shchors at T7. If it was tiered with contemporaries in existence, it'd be at T10 and in-tier balance would be trash. Basically, you are asking for a number of things that you cannot all achieve simultanously, then you grumble about it. The reason for your issues isn't WG's "Russian bias", it's your own insistence on a perfect state that simply cannot exist.

    Cruisers and ships in general

Main reason you can dodge most Gneisenau torps in brawls. Learning to predict turns and not just torp on the indicator is a very valuable skill. You can torp the indicator when the enemy is maybe 1.5 km away and about broadside or if you top around a corner and they know not that you are there. Furutaka is positively insane for T5, kept in place by being in the worst MM tier in the game. It has a good hp pool for its tier, the best cruiser armour that can bounce same tier BBs off its angled midsection, it has torps with good angles and long range, it has guns that overmatch other T5 cruisers, it has good speed... and it's about to get buffed yet again, so it now get's Zao dispersion.

    African-american pre-saturday

So far, Asashio B was mentioned in the IJN DD buff test notes, so it seems the thing was not yet dropped.

    Torps are becomming stupid.

I mean, it can... if you let it flood you out...

Well, just slap Blanc with enough gimmicks and it'll be fine, right? Then 1 twin turret and 1 quad launcher is just enough.

4x2 is not a Myoko. Also, they don't look that IJN. They look pretty generic.

    Lack of Transparancy

If you design the tutorial process in a way that is not intuitive, nor necessary, then that's the result. That's like arguing BBs shooting tons of HE in the wake of British BBs has nothing to do with stupid design choices, because those who want to spam HE would spam it anyways.

It's unlikely indeed. and even if, it'd likely be a bunch of captains. although I personally really love the design of Noire CA's gun turrets. They look like some long-barrel high velocity guns that might really be fun ballistics-wise.

    Lack of Transparancy

This thread isn't very useful, but WG certainly could be putting in more effort to educate people within the game, instead of going for outside sources. The tips ingame are incredibly basic an other than that, the How it Works videos are the only thing there is, though they are hard to find for anyone not actively trying to find them and are still just YT tutorials.

When is the Pasta being served?

Italians? Never heard of them. As WG itself said, all major naval nations are covered, we are running out of content, thus we are getting submarines now.
  14. Of course they aren't, but just saying, when you portray the more "modern" Chapayev with the older Mogami by putting them at a tier, it is hard to call that a bias towards the Soviets. Nothing in that comparison would make Chapayev look actually better than it was IRL.

    USN BBs need buffs

I mean, some people consider the USN BBs fine. In which case, their premiums are almost straight upgrades over the base designs. And even if they'd keep the old reload, they'd still be competitive, given Texas in its tier is an AA fortress among ships that mostly are anything but and Arizona has shot patterns approaching actual accuracy. If they buy these traits with a few seconds reload, that's kinda fine. The reload is the least of their issues (compared to speed and armour).
  16. Well, when your cruiser, completed in 1950 is about as good as an IJN design that was made in the early 30s and is known most of all for how it is the epidome of IJN treaty cheating, with the result that it required multiple fixes to achieve proper seaworthiness, I'd say, that's not really flattering to the Soviet Navy designs.

    Buff German secondary damage?

The main reason you'd even bother with secondaries is DDs and you get full pens on them anyway, same with T6- cruisers, except maybe the IJN ones. Given the limited range of low tier secondaries, as well as the limited accuracy, investing into IFHE just to pen BBs is kind of a wasted effort, compared to taking skills that are useful beyond the range of maybe 7 km or so.

Hindy does not need a buff

The fire chance already is crap and you could nerf either or both and people would still spam long range HE. Because those who don't get the memo already now won't get it then and those who know that the HE already is trash now don't spam HE because they want to. Any changes to the viability of AP will make Hindenburg less of an HE spammer. Not changes to the already lackluster viability of HE.
  19. There's three lines of ships that have no paper in them. USN DDs, USN CVs and IJN main line DDs. Everything else has designs that never existed. Soviet cruisers from the 50s aren't really that bad, because they at least still observe design principles of the ships in the game and are gun cruisers. Nothing says this is about WWII, else you could as well ask what the heck Midway, Des Moines or Worcester are doing here, which all saw no service in WWII. Nor are ships matched according to their time, but according to capabilities. Even if you take out Chapayev from the picture, T8 cruisers give the following picture: Atago (commissioned 1932) Mogami (commissioned 1935) Edinburgh (commissioned 1936) Hipper (commissioned 1939) Cleveland (commissioned 1942) Baltimore (commissioned 1943) Charles Martel (never made, but planning started 1939) Meanwhile Chapayev (commissioned 1950, but construction started 1939) Design-wise, Chapayev is way closer to the median of T8 cruisers than the Americans or Japanese, construction-wise, even without Chapayev, you have ships from the interwar treaty era competing with ships that were built at the height of WWII. Chapayev would need a shitton of ahistorical buffs to be competitive at T10, which would be far more a glorification than the current admission that the post-Cold war Soviet Navy simply hadn't had ships that were much better than what others had for over a decade. And no other tier follows a logic of all ships being from the same timeframe, be it WWI Bayern and QE vs Dunkerque or 20s design Yorck vs Atlanta or 20s design Amagi vs BBs from the late 30s. If we were composing ship tiers according to when ships were designed and built, Yamato would be a T8. And I hope you realise that that would be be terrible in terms of balance.
  20. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapayev-class_cruiser It's a real ship.
  21. As long as radar in any way stays in the game, it should be balanced and currently I consider Chapayev vs Cleveland quite balanced. If you make it delayed after 10 seconds, that affects Chapayev far more than Cleveland, given Cleveland has far more time remaining, while Chapayev would lose half the effective radar duration for team purposes. And taking radar away, feel free to go and rebalance Russian cruisers. Don't see why you'd play them over IJN if they just lost their radar, because these ships aren't necessarily more tanky and just for spamming out shells with decent ballistics, Mogami can do that too, has one more turret, better HE alpha, better concealment, better speed and stealth torp ability. If you don't consider USN ballistics a grave enough downside, Cleveland would be strictly better too, by virtue of dpm and not getting wrecked as easily.

    USN BBs need buffs

Colorado's issue is that it isn't Nagato. That's about it. The ship doesn't have accuracy issues, accuracy is standard (USN BB dispersion, 1.8 sigma, about as standard as it could get). Unlike many other T7s though and NM before it, the 16 inch guns actually can overmatch T7 and lower BBs and you don't have to switch to HE when you need to defend yourself against a rushing Scharnhorst or something. The speed is poor, there's no excuse on that, but the hp pool is pretty ok and the repair party is improved, so it has pretty ok survivability. Overall, Colorado is not the best T7 BB, but it certainly isn't terrible. It actually has distinct strengths, unlike its predecessors, which both get powercreeped even in the one role the ships have by pretty much half the competition.
