Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)

Crimson Echoes should be up next on the 10th. It's IJN event. -
Dunno, sounds a bit harsh on Monaghan. Ship isn't that bad.

Hindenburg - the buff changed nothing
HaachamaShipping replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
I just kept him in reserve, as I have enough Hippers, Theas and regular high level captains to go around. Also, I find more joy derping around in Graf Spee in T6 than with Hindenburg in T10. It's basically the original large cruiser with straight up 1/3 more hp than most other T6 cruisers and guns that people underestimate till they lose 8k to a citadel. With stuff like Ranked Sprint, one can play this gem even competitively. -
No, except maybe CA AP in mid tiers. But hardly anyone shoots that.

Hindenburg - the buff changed nothing
HaachamaShipping replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
I don't, because I can't be bothered to make sacrifices on my Graf Spee captain just so my Hindenburg gets better. But I'd think that it's no worse than DE, if you just want to spot ALL the torps. -
Hindenburg - the buff changed nothing
HaachamaShipping replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, maybe the buff wasn't there to give Hindenburg a place. Maybe it was actually there so people spec out of SI, wonder what to do with 3 points, then go Vigilance, thus finally allowing Franz von Jutland to have a place. -
SuperYamato As Japans T10 Battleship
HaachamaShipping replied to RepSrb's topic in General Discussion
Uhm, wut? Let's see about that: IJN torp boat DDs: Yeah, ok, this line at higher levels becomes a bit lackluster. Still, the HE damage and fire chance was restored, which has brought a good bit of bite back to the ships. They'll stay noob traps, but WG did give them something and it was, imo, a sensible buff that kept some unique flavour to he line. At mid-tiers, Fubuki is a solid T6 though. IJN alt line DDs: People would be less whining about Kitakaze and Harugumo if they weren't good. But even before that, Shiratsuyu is among the best T7 DDs. IJN cruisers: accuracy buff across the line, these ships are amazing. Furutaka is approaching OP territory, Aoba is ok, Myoko is a strong T7 with decent armour, Mogami is dpm, Ibuki has received praise lately and Zao is a widely used CB cruiser for a reason. IJN BBs: Which IJN BB from the Myogi onwards is bad and why? They all are at the very least ok. Only Izumo might at times feel wanting, because Musashi can do many things better. If Musashi wouldn't exist, Izumo would be fine though. IJN CVs: Good ships. Also, Zao vs Kronshtadt, you angle and shoot HE to burn it down and do silly high damage salvos, cause it's 25 mm all over. -
Frankly, I'd take it. Chapayev can already de facto counter-radar with only one -10% modifier, having some 11 something km concealment but 17+ km radar where you could effectively radar three caps at once is just insane, thus... It'd be interesting, though it would need a reduction to like 20-25% range increase max. Even then it'd be incredibly strong. The issue I see really is that the change from a game balance perspective is not needed and has too many side effects just to make TASM1 an option worth considering instead of CSM1. At this point WG could take out TASM1 and just leave the choice of CSM1 and SGM3. Nothing of value would be lost. So, making it useful would be nice.
-
So, I doubt it works, because people would've then maybe talked more about it, but just to make sure, because I cannot be bothered to waste 2 million creds to switch around modules now that prices are back up again: Target Acquisition Mod says: Surveillance radar says: Just from wording, that 9 km would be "assured acquisition of enemy ships", which would get boosted by TASM 1. And I think I read radar basically extents this hard spotting distance for the ship that radars, which is why it can see beyond 8 km in cyclones. I haven't tested it though and maybe others have. Does it affect radar/hydro or no? Do we have conclusive proof? On the one hand, 13.5 km radar suddenly would be silly, but on the other hand, I wouldn't doubt WG to not have left the door open. Just, I doubt players never figured it out.
-
It'd make TASM1 actually worthwhile in builds and one could argue about options, as for example Cleveland with 9.1 or so concealment and 9 km radar is obviously stronger alround, but Cleveland would still be playable at 10 something km concealment, but with 13.5 km radar in return. I considered the whle matter due to the changes to CE, which will nerf my Edinburgh to 9.2 km concealment and create a 200 m window where I cannot counter-radar. Which makes me sad. Naturally, there'd be clear victims to such an indirect radar range buff and it'd be silly as hell, especially on Russians, as you pointed out.

Izumo and Musashi 57 mm deck. All I can think of.

SuperYamato As Japans T10 Battleship
HaachamaShipping replied to RepSrb's topic in General Discussion
Pretty sure on Big Race the range circle is larger than the entire minimap. 12 Shima guns and 6 Mogami guns in a broadside? Also, I might point out that 305 mm HE does not pen 57 mm deck. Screw you Wyoming! -

SuperYamato As Japans T10 Battleship
HaachamaShipping replied to RepSrb's topic in General Discussion
Musashi is a slightly nerfed Yamato and it's powercreeping the Izumo quite a bit. I wouldn't say that noone has any issue with Musashi at T9. Also, A-150 would suck massively, as it'd basically be to Yamato what 457 Conq is to 419 Conq. -
SuperYamato As Japans T10 Battleship
HaachamaShipping replied to RepSrb's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, please put my Yamato at T9, Musashi can be T8. They feel so weak right now, with only 9 guns, when others get 12 and their speed is lackluster too. They burn a lot. I swear, more than any other T10. Every game fires make up so much of my damage taken. And yeah, T6s going up against Musashi might seem a bit silly, but Musashi's AA is T6 anyways, so it'll work out, right? But honestly, Musashi at T9 is already questionable. Pushing the full Yamato down there is just retarded. -
Once upon a time, CVs on T10 had early jet aircraft. No longer. Without jet aircraft, no point getting an angled flight deck. Not to mention, it would look weird on ships like the Taiho that never had one and would need a complete what-if overhaul.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
HaachamaShipping replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Played some Charles Martel, with everything researched except upgraded guns. Never particularly liked the ship, but decided to grind for Henri and to actually try git gud in French cruisers and figure out how ships with only 3 torps per side are supposed to work. But the ship's not really bad. With properly researched modules, one can do nice things and MBRB for 15 seconds of Des Moines is also not bad. Had a pretty ok match today even, though we lost. Thankfully that Zao chased me, as kiting it allowed quite a favourable exchange ratio, given the ship dodges reasonably well and has actual HE dpm. *looks at Hipper* This game gave me enough exp to unlock the new guns, which I don't really want as much for the reload buff rather I want that turret traverse buff. That stock traverse is so uncomfortable. Also, this gave me a Collection container which allowed me to finish the collection. And unlike other Christmas containers, this one wasn't even friggin camo or signals... This makes the 3rd T6 DD I got this Christmas from boxes after Monaghan and T-61. They seem all decent though, except T-61, which is way more than that. Don't mind the UI bugging out though... -
Yeah, pretty much what I thought. Just thought maybe someone knew a source or had tested it. Thanks for responses though.

It's the T6 cruiser with second least amount of battles (just beating the Nürnberg-clone Admiral Makarov). Unless a CV is around, Huanghe is worse than Perth and even with CV around, it's just her base AA that is high, no defAA to farm plane kills. Obviously, being worse than one of the best T6 cruisers isn't exactly that bad, but both of them are notably harder to play than tech tree ships to get the most out of them and the people who do like to excel in these ships often just go for Perth instead. Not to mention, it needs a 14 pt captain. Might be the ship gets some appreciation when Irian hits and you can create an IFHE CL captain for two cruisers, but currently, it just seems like a hassle. Likely as a result, they made Huanghe one of those cheap prems, like Yuubari and Texas.

Gneisenau vs Bismarck, too similar yet too different, I'm slightly confused.
HaachamaShipping replied to Praevasc's topic in General Discussion
I would guess torpedo picket for pushes. In CBs could be useful though I never ran it. For Randoms, it's pretty crap though. -
CV gameplay from a CL player's point of view, first impressions
HaachamaShipping replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
For Fighters on Hosho, I take the +50% ammo module and they have a decent amount. The main thing with Hosho I found was to map out what ships in the team have A above which to fight the enemy CV. Frustrate them with your fighter into a stalemate by just patrolling over your team, sooner or later they'll come. I actually appreciate Hosho TBs far more than Langley, because you can send one squad left, one right and crossdrop. With Langley, you can't. And yes, autodrop sucks. But having to learn Manual at T6 is what made me turn away from CVs. Crappy hangar capacity, make a mistake and you are basically out. Can't practice in Coop, because bots don't strafe, so you basically cannot learn how the strafing game works there, you need to learn it in randoms. T8s, Double CV games vs T7s are also infuriating, but then a week or so ago, I noticed I had enough exp for Hiryuu and bought her out of a mistake. Played the ship a few times, before completely quitting, because after 7 games and 57% WR, I still felt like I can't subject other people to me having to still learn how to counter-strafe. -
Dreadful play and one sided matches
HaachamaShipping replied to anonym_CsauhrZtDqUP's topic in General Discussion
31 minutes... What in the actual... Sorry, but do you just like making threads? For the past few days you spammed us with threads on how you hate CVs, which started to get repetitive. Now you post a two threads on the exact same thing not even an hour apart. Can't you just use your own whine thread from earlier? Did you need to open a new one? -

But imagine that Fletcher drop-down list. I don't even want to know what it'd do to port UI.
