    SuperYamato As Japans T10 Battleship

Ah yeah. We always needed a Yamato with even more armour and hp and with AA and better secondaries. I mean, yeah, it was planned with those 10 cm guns, so uparmoured Yamato with the most insane secondaries of T10 (straight up better IFHE potential than Kurfürst as long as it gets a reasonable amount per side) and Yamato's main battery is certainly balanced... in what world? No, we don't need a ship that is Yamato but better. That's the definition of powercreep. And frankly would be OP.

Is the tier 8 Monarch just rubbish ?

Imo, if you expect better performance than KGV from Monarch, you might want to first spend more time in KGV. Monarch is basically a repeat of the design, with a return to QE guns and the 32 mm plating that comes with T8. Monarch can finally bow-tank other BBs except Yamato and Musashi. Monarch will eat lots of damage from HE though, it is soft against AP that doesn't bounce and while the gunnery was ok at T6, at T8 it kinda is meh. Monarch does have a good concealment though, so you can try abuse that, but overall, being in a slow ship that has no HE resistance is bound to be frustrating at high tiers.

    Bismark, rant?

The surface units actually were built for straight up surface engagements, just that Plan Z was to prepare for war in 1945, not 1939. In general Germany did not expect a world war in 1939 and was not prepared for it. For that they did accomplish a lot though. And no, the German's might have gotten some commerce raiding done, but overall, they didn't get far and the surface ships overall cost Germany more than the British. To claim there's some exceptional heroism in this is silly. To claim the Bismarck should be represented stronger ingame because of that despite already being a good T8 BB is even more silly. To claim it deserves better than Yamato the sole T10 BB that really existed is just the cherry ontop of all this wehraboo nonsense.

Is the tier 8 Monarch just rubbish ?

It is. Also, coop is painfully easy to do decent in Nelson. Just always stay angled. Bots alwys aim at centre of mass, so if even if they could overmatch your bow, as long as centre of mass is behind the belt, they'll shoot the belt. This helps a lot in staying alive.

    Bismark, rant?

Ah yeah, because an inoperable barely floating ship getting sunk is clearly salvaging the grace. I guess if I play CV, am the last member on my team and about to die hopelessly, without having accomplished much in the battle, I can still claim some moral victory by sinking myself, because even if it was inevitable, they didn't kill me. Ha! When you are in checkmate, whether you surrender or end yourself is of no importance. The checkmate is what counts.

Yeah, I select your Monarch as secondary target and forget about it. I'll just wait for my CQE after a minute or so. Nelson is among the best T7 BBs.

    Best cruisers for beginners

Anything but Royal Navy. The others are pretty much all equally decent learning experiences. IJN - Long-range torpedoes, crap dpm but quickly become heavy cruisers and at high tier become stealthy. They are roaming ships. USN - Good gun dpm, but lack torps. More used for hiding behind terrain. Branch out into light and heavy cruisers, with light cruisers being pure shell spam and consumable abuse, while heavies are slow but hard-hitting AP and decent HE. RU - Long-range cruisers. Pretty standard. Get unmaneuverable fast but have good shell speed to hit things at range. KM - AP dpm. Later becomes roaming cruisers but without stealth. Torps are shorter ranged than IJN, but great for brawls. MN - Fast ships with decent range that rely on dodging. torpedoes have decent range and angles but are few, so they mostly are for harassment. They later get speed boost and main battery reload boost, which allow them to zip around and to short-time bursts of damage. RN - no armour, very stealthy, get smoke and repair party, only AP ammunition, are vulnerable to CV till T9. torpedoes are decent and later on can compete with IJN in torp boat potential. Very hard to play, because you die easily.

It also lacks armour. 32 mm plating everywhere. Nothing more fun to farm than that. Similarly, I never tried it, but as it shares armour scheme with KGV, just with 32 mm sections instead of 25 mm, it should be quite possible to bow-on citadel the ship with Yamato or Musashi and even if it angles, you just overmatch the upper belt on the sides for a good chunk of their not so great hp pool.

    Is it worth taking kronshtadt?

It certainly isn't much, but these are Grozovoy guns. So, you could still put out some decent firepower at range and it's got a boatload of consumables. But I'd wait for what the CCs say and maybe it'll see changes.

    Is it worth taking kronshtadt?

I'd take Alaska for radar plays because it's better vs DDs in terms of firepower and you'd likely need the time. Neither ship has the concealment to make any special radar plays around the way for example Chapayev, Cleveland, Belfast, Edinburgh and Minotaur can. Maybe Neustrashimyy will be free exp. Who knows.

    Is it worth taking kronshtadt?

I played neither. But prices get upped. But that's nothing new. Look at prices of Jean Bart vs Musashi in the arsenal and I hope you don't think Musashi is worse.

    Bismark, rant?

Sure, but for that they were neither a great investment of resources, half of them had hardly any impact and the two that had one got wrecked and were certainly more expensive to build for the side with less resources than they caused in losses for the side with more resources. And in no way does it justify the opening post rant about Bismarck being T8 while Yamato is T10 based solely on narrative.

Is the tier 8 Monarch just rubbish ?

I should start betting pools on whether there'll be a second thread today or whether it'll be tomorrow, how long it'll be till second thread and what topic the spam will be about. Honestly, even if you had a point, the simple matter of the fact at this point is... After the amount of whining about all kinds of pointless crap, noone cares about your opinion. Not that I expect you to ever get back to this thread, but if you'd actually make sensible contributions to the forums for a few weeks and posted your complaints in areas where they belong (for this one, here), maybe people could be bothered to actually consider your opinion. Not that I think you care...
  14. Nothing, but NY got Colorado heal, Texas doesn't. There is now legit a reason to play NY over Texas. Before, there was none except gun range, if you loved derping around at 20+ km with your T5 crapshoot USN guns.

    Is it worth taking kronshtadt?

It's not that much indeed... if you have premium and all and if you care about Kronshtadt. Personally, for example, I have enough to buy Kron, but couldn't be bothered, because it's not what I play cruiser for.

Alaska is confirmed 1 million free exp, so no worries there.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Thought that after so long, I'd play Bismarck again. I mean, I haven't played it much recently, having stayed with the Gneisenau instead (which overtook Bisko as my most-played BB) and grinding cruiser lines. And you know, maybe my Bismarck skills have become rusty and I need to get that snowflake, so, well... Favourable matchmaking, but I think I still know the basics. Definitely feels better than Kurfürst. Was a very close match in more ways than one (that Monarch might not have liked that BB meta though). Also, solocapping in a BB never gets old. Solid ship. Should play Bismarck more again.

That would be nice, though I'm pretty sure it'll just revert to usual when the season passes. I'd prefer Kitsune, but catgirls are fine too. *edited

Heavy Cruisers as a seperate class.

For Amagi you could always substitute with Tosa. Kongou is the greater issue but could leave the split from T6 on. Nr 13 fills T9, or T10, tiers 6 and 9 (or 10) would be open. Doubt it'd happen, but if that RU BB tree says anything then that WG can be imaginative when they want to.
  21. Prinz Eugen is basically a Hipper that is made playable beyond the grind by getting a good consumable. Hipper already is one of the worst if not the worst cruiser at T8 and Prinz Eugen thus has an easy time being competitive when it is compared to other T8s. Compared to Hipper, PE is just plain better. Getting 1.5 seconds slower reload is a great deal for repair party and thus the ability to actually make aggressive plays without being crippled for the rest of the match. PE is basically the same as Texas pre-7.12, which was better than NY in most areas but given NY was crap, Texas was far from OP and still not a good T5 BB. Obviously, the next question is, why would you play Prinz Eugen? Because frankly pre-buff it was just a copy of a free ship, post-buff it still is a just a less terrible version of a bad ship, with a MM that most of the time negates your strengths. I played PE over the triple exp for first win period to make use of daily win, but there's no reason to continue playing this ship as soon as you unlocked Roon or Hindenburg, which provide a more pleasant experience. Or play Yorck if you were gambling for the mid-tier experience, because while Yorck hasn't got the armour and the repair, it at least gets workable dpm and at T7 sees better MM. Meanwhile Scharnhorst is a ship that is balanced, provides a fun experience, has a decent MM and even when thrown into T9 matches stays tanky and useful, while Prinz Eugen uptiered quickly becomes a low dpm, bad concealment, slow speed ship that gets overmatched by any BB and dpmed into the ground even by T8s that know what they are doing. And Scharnhorst does sell well.

    SuperYamato As Japans T10 Battleship

Honestly, you could likely add it as a premium T10 BB. With the ability to only raise the overmatch to 35 mm, the A-150 has practically no overmatch advantage over the Yamato, the ship's main battery is even poorer in comparison to the Yamato than 457 Conqueror to 419 Conqueror (there at least are cruisers to overmatch now). The Design A-150 hull-wise is barely larger than Yamato, which already is on the more compact side of T10 BBs, so while it gets maybe inbetween Yamato and Kurfürst in hp pool, it isn't some utterly unwieldy nonsense design like late H-class plans. The 10 cm guns as DP secondaries would give the ship basically something to likely balance that crappy main battery, by being a ton of AA firepower, but also decent as IFHE secondaries. T10 Gneisenau with no torps and a citadel, pretty much.

    Overpenetrations

Does so since forever. This ship has always been the T6 equivalent of Roma in terms of gunnery. Or rather, Roma's guns are about the T8 equivalent of Dunkerque guns.

    Match Making in Ranked.

West Virginia can be immensely fun. Sadly it's almost too specialised as anti-BB BB because the pen is wasted on anything else. And even for T6, it'd be almost wasted on BBs, if it wouldn't lead to odd citadels, just because the shell punched through all the armour and gave a cit where others failed and gave a normal pen.

    Match Making in Ranked.

Depends on BB. In a PEF I'd not complain too much.
