    Between telling us that we wanted an unbalanced game, when there were voices that called this a good move and the knowledge that you'll continue profiteering off blatant balance mistakes by selling them via gamble containers and by encouraging a mentality of "buy now before it gets pulled" on any future OP release, I dunno which of these makes me more disappointed. For once you made some steps in the right direction, but no. And don't tell us that it's because of community feedback, because community feedback tends to be mostly those upset, not the people who maybe post once that they want a decent game and are ok with it. If it'd be by mere counting of posts, you'd have canned the CV rework long ago based on that, instead of just assuming that a silent majority is fine with it.

    The main reason Emerald is a league above the rest in getting HE citadels is because it has 25 mm citadel deck that are her main deck. You land any 203+ mm HE or 152 mm/180 mm IFHE or 15 cm German/155 mm HE there and it's a citadel. You can't citpen the rest with cruiser HE. And BB HE basically can citpen cruisers all the way to T7 and partially even above that.

    Imo, no. From what I experienced so far, the CV replaces the DD. CV does the spotting job better, but if you run CV and DD, you likely got 1 BB and 4 cruisers, which is not enough firepower. What I'd consider most useful is a 1 CV, 1 BB, 5 CA setup. Similarly, if you cannot bring a CV, you can hope to get into a no-CV match, but if that fails, you basically have to blob up and then it's almost best to swarm one side and just bet on the CV never getting to do more than spotting, thus out-dpming whatever gets into your path as the enemy has basically only 6 ships that can effectively do damage. But it still is not an optimal situation. Just the reality that not every clan has a CV player. The addition of a CV in their current form is imo a terrible thing, as it causes a whole lot of issues. The fact you are spotted at least by 30 s into a match, that being not in a blob is a death sentence and that with CVs making lightning fast spotting sweeps allowing BBs and Stalingrads to just hammer you across the map is kind of silly.

    You basically try to beat different base exp goals to get stars. You have 10 attempts per person. If you got more stars than the other clan at the end, you get bonus oil.

    Thanks. Game was ok. It likely would've resulted in a loss anyway, but ate an unnecessary torp and was unable to properly shoot you while the Omaha was still alive. Surprised I was even alive both times. Sadly couldn't get a star either, which is what pisses me off even more. Also didn't notice you till you killed me, as I was busy with other things.

    Beginner battleships?

    Dallas, Helena and Cleveland still are some of the most lulzy cruisers in terms of survivability. They might not have armour, but unless you know where exactly to shoot, they often appear to have no citadel either and just get overpenned. The difference in how much space their citadel takes up vs other cruisers at their tier is borderline silly. IJN and RU cruisers are a very stark contrast to that. And pretty sure the only T6 cruiser less easily citadelled is Graf Spee.
  10. Bismarck secondaries are basically just going to farm a ton of damage if people actually are retarded enough to push into the secondary range and stay there for extented periods. Especially when uptiered. For the most part, I regard secondaries not as a damage farming tool, but most of all, as an area control tool, as it basically allows the BB to dissuade enemy ships from carelessly rushing into that secondary aura. Similarly, one could ask, what is the skill behind stuff like hydro DDs and radar ships that have to put "minimal" effort into positioning correctly to get silly results. Being near contested zones or in the caps is their job anyway, after all. Regardless of whether it needs some situational awareness to properly decide when to put your asset to use, not just yolo (I mean, yes, BBs shouldn't sit back at 20 km, but sub-11 km is starting to get rather close for T8+ and sub 8 km for T7- is not really much either. I certainly don't play my Nagato at 7 km the way I would play Gneisenau) or whether there is actual options to avoid suffering from that asset (partly more options than there is for getting counter-radared or running into Loyang hydro even). And secondary BBs are hardly anywhere near the threat to BB counters as AP DBs were to even AA cruisers like Des Moines, unless you literally rush into like sub-6 km of a BB where most secondaries can actually pen your hull.

    Don't judge any line based on the T3 BB. Nothing later is like Kawachi in the IJN line. Mostly for the better. Also, in terms of BBs, my recommended progression is: USN IJN Whatever else USN BBs are pretty no-nonsense designs. They are pretty meh mid-tiers, but if it's your first line, it might still be exciting and it's as basic as it gets. IJN is the next most conventional line, but trades some damage control and repair potential for flexibility, which is better when you already have a basic idea how to play BBs. Every other line is basically a variant of that playstyle, with Germans bringing superb tankiness, French bringing speed and lots of small guns and the British bringing lack of armour, but good concealment and improved HE (though HE just becomes a more useful option, not your standard ammo).

    Yeah. That's why I switched to radar Edinburgh, because I mostly rely on just killing the DDs early and then hoping the team can take advantage of that. Neptune gets firepower again.

    Yeah, your two DDs at C didn't expect radar Edinburgh and then couldn't turn out of radar range due to the island, so Z-52 just died and Kidd got wrecked. Didn't get a huge damage total in, but the knowledge that I contributed to the demise of two DDs and ruined it for a smoke Mino is all the satisfaction I need. Did get three torps and a kill on the Yamato though.

    Edinburgh is fun, when you can decide whether to pick smoke or radar. I really enjoyed it more than Fiji. Hermelin has DP guns though, so...

    Met @Estaca_de_Bares in a late-night match. Sadly seems we were not only on different teams, but also different flanks, so I couldn't see you for the entire game.
  16. I'm not saying secondary accuracy is bad per se. Just that with those base stats, it's the least important aspect that should have been buffed to make the secondaries worth a damn.

    Yeah, but you could also just set it to Hipper for one battle to hear the voice without having to use the captain and assign points and all. And set it back afterwards.

  19. "longer ranges". 6 km base range. 6s reload. You can get up to 9.1 km range out of this and at 9 km, you still get Atlanta arcs. That's not hardly going to be "decisive damage" against any DD that knows how to use A and D keys. The main draw of the improved secondary accuracy to me would be that you don't invest anything in secondaries and just let them shred any DD that rushes you at 6 km, as your main guns are obviously not good for that job.
  20. Except that if they wouldn't be pinpoint accuracy, they'd stray far enough to hit the superstructure and potentially set the ship ablaze in more than one location. There's "not good vs BBs" and there's "utterly useless vs BBs".

    How good is the Alaska

    Dunno what you call a "hardcore gimmick". But compared to normal cruisers, Alaska clearly is different from something like Buffalo or Roon and compared to the Kronshtadt, Alaska trades pen for accuracy and improved pen angles and some hp for better armour. While Kronshtadt can citadel BBs at range, that's basically the main thing Alaska loses with the lower pen, it still devastates cruisers at most combat ranges in a way that only Stalingrad does better among cruisers. Compare that to Missouri that basically is an Iowa with a radar ontop that is useful every now and then but does not change much in the core gameplay of the ship or the Musashi that only gets overmatch, but still plays very much like a BB. Meanwhile Alaska plays like the cruiser/BB hybrid, bringing advantages and disadvantages of both in likely the most balanced package we had so far in terms of offense/defense and flexibility.

    Sure will love trying to progress some cruiser line through T5 while getting absolutely crapped on by the spam of GCs and Kamikazes. This suggestion is not a solution at all.
