That it does. Though 11.7k vs 12k is not a game-changing difference.

Why do BB's instantly put out one fire?
HaachamaShipping replied to mil71's topic in General Discussion
When I get a devstrike because the BB straightlined, that's just a single mistake. It's harder to die in a BB compared to some cruiser or DD, but getting oneshot can happen. Happens even to me at times and frankly, typically getting wrecked in a BB makes me least salty cause I usually deserved it. -
Vanguard is T8, Nelson T7. But I do agree, I prefer playing Hood to Nelson. More agile, less all-or-nothing armour. Except for 27 mm armour enemies, Vanguard guns do have more impact, because Vanguard has a good bit more pen than Nelson. Nelson's 406 mm are barely better than Mutsu guns in penetration. Vanguard guns meanwhile are on Bismarck/Tirpitz level (beating Monarch, but behind Roma and the French). Nelson's guns basically are good for AP because they are T7 and can wreck stuff with overmatch.

I mean... what BB can't do this to a Nelson?

I mean, maybe if you are in Le Terrible, you can.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
HaachamaShipping replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I mean, a good Zao will likely wreck any T8 cruiser, but yeah, Atago will be a pain to deal with. Also because it has 41 mm deck, so unless it already is low hp or gives a ton of broadside, Atago can just wreck your ship with bow overmatches or straight up broadside cits. -

Yeah, compared to the other T10 cruiser Zao, this looks pretty generous. What's this, the ultimate troll armour? at the same time can bounce unlucky Bismarcks and get overmatched by lucky Hippers? -

Why is the Gneisenau now terrible at AA?
HaachamaShipping replied to The_Norwood's topic in General Discussion
I mean, it's still better than PEF. But either way, enjoy getting your long range boosted through, then get AP bombed to death. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
HaachamaShipping replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Finally got to Monarch yesterday. People told me the ship is crap, but for some weeb reason (*cough* AL Monarch *cough*) I thought I totally had to get this ship. I can see the issues (range, armour, speed, rear turret angle, ...), got some ok games though so far. That 25 s reload and meme concealment. Just wish weekend teams weren't this terrible. I know, a bit of a image wall, but wanted to demonstrate both the consistent performance, as well as that it's not just 100k farmed with HE and fires. Dunno, not the strongest ship, but I kinda found it enjoyable. Now I go grind some other line. -
Massachusetts Vs Tirpitz Which is better?
HaachamaShipping replied to QLZ_World's topic in Battleships
Interesting. Guess I learned something new and it makes me appreciate Alabama a slight bit more. In my defense, I mostly based it on LWM's Massachusetts review, which indicated a lack of reinforced plating. Sadly, as the ship is not sold in the tech tree, I don't have easy access to an armour model to check, but you are right on Alabama. -

NC gets reinforced central deck, South Dakota class gets 32 mm everywhere. -
When do the midway HE dive bombers finally get nerfed?
HaachamaShipping replied to Colonel_Boom's topic in General Discussion
As you said "even if you consider faildivs" earlier, you should be able to citpen an Emerald. Admittedly, after the third bomb its dead though. If I can press one button on my Hipper to waste minutes of the CV players effort in mere seconds, I'm fine with that. Would make me actually play Hipper again. -

HaachamaShipping replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
I at least get to do something in battle other than keep in mind to send my ships back if one hits the red. All you get in KC is figuring out the optimal setup to send into battle to not get wrecked, but there exist spreadsheets for equipment dpm and tier lists for ships for a reason in AL too. So, yeah, I'm not buying that KC requires more player skill input than AL. KC is a card game? I mean, if you look at card games, I'd think of stuff like Shadowverse. You may not want to touch AL, but I still find it silly to trash talk AL's gameplay as "primitive" when singing praises about KC. -
Do you still use BFT & AFT on your ships (regarding free Commander re-spec in upcoming WoWs v0.8.2)?
HaachamaShipping replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Usually, on ships where I had BFT before, I had the points to spare and prior to CV rework it also only was a 10% increase in AA damage. It isn't much, but on ships like Minotaur, I'd keep it. Also obviously on DDs with decent guns. -

To each their own, but I really cannot find any sophisticated game experience in KC and while AL is maybe not the greatest game of all time, it at least is some sort of game. While I can leave it to auto mode when I farm maps that are way below my fleet level, for challenging maps, I have to actually try put in proper thought for composition and have to put in some skill and it pays off. Not some crap like Spring 2016 E2, which basically was just utter cancer, because regardless of how great your composition was, if RNG decided your Type 3 shell CAs attack the artillery imps instead of supply depot hime, then you basically failed the run... again. That is if you got past the PTSD imps or the Ru wall. At that point, the game basically becomes a matter of "Do I have enough resources to try often enough" and gathering resources is not exactly something most people enoy, as it's repetitive as all hell, no real skill input except knowing what expeditions earn what, just a test of patience basically. And while most other maps are not as terrible, the level of input from player side vs the amount of RNG in KC is one of the main reasons that people rather play a "primitive" game like AL. As to designs... thing is, yes it's nice to have neat designs, but if the gameplay behind it is stale and boring, it still won't make people play for long. e.g. KC Saratoga is to me easily one of the most beautiful ships in KC and beats AL Saratoga by a mile (latter being a loli doesn't really help), however I still rather play AL than KC, because I don't have the time and energy to bash my head against a wall often enough to get Sara through LSC (after hopefully getting Kamoi first) and then just use her to bash it against a wall for whatever other grindfest comes later. I rather go play AL, find characters I enjoy there and have a somewhat fun experience. I guess there is a greater feeling of accomplishment after getting Sara from whatever torturous trial one underwent compared to paying a buck to get AL Sara (or just crafting her from CV pool), but still. If I just want to enjoy the artwork and lines... those I can find on KC wiki. So, while I guess one can hate the designs and one can dislike the "casual" nature, I'm hard-pressed to understand how someone can unironically praise KC over AL by calling AL's gameplay "primitive". Even if I wanted to go and play a grind hell with feeling of accomplishment, I'd rather go play Granblue Fantasy. It's basically what I originally started playing instead of KC when I burned out from that, because I get to actually make plans and execute them without having to watch my lineup hit all the wrong targets and waste all my effort once again. And it might not have ships, but still nice art and boy did I feel accomplished from collecting enough free crystal for a spark to get my Olivia. But this would be the kind of actual gameplay where I'd understand if people call AL "primitive" in comparison (though I still can understand people preferring something more casual over the multi-year comittment GBF can be to just get good), however not with Kancolle that frankly, despite having so many good points, just fails at the fundamental task of being a "game". -
Nelson, if you know how to best angle the ship, isn't bad. Main armament is only behind Nagato, Ashitaka and Colorado among T7s, the survivability is a double-edged sword between being one of the hardest to kill top tier and being an easy kill the moment someone manages to outplay you (or it's a Musashi). There's a reason it rocks such a high winrate on average. Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were sister ships and they both were in the Scharnhorst layout. Gneisenau ingame is a proposed late-war refit for the Gneisenau to be upgunned with 3x2 38 cm guns and get a uniform secondary armament of 128 mm guns. Overall, ingame, Scharnhorst is a cruiser killer, Gneisenau is an anti-BB platform (though both are reasonably decent at killing the other type too).

How to play World of Warships Premium Battlecruiser USS Alaska Wows Review Guide
HaachamaShipping replied to Adm_Ballsey's topic in Cruisers
My best is this, though I think freak citadels at max range are kinda rare. Typically, at these kinda ranges, I rather go for HE on BBs. Also, Alaska holds my personal damage record, which I put up on my first day with the ship. It's a great ship, imo, it isn't really OP, but still decent and for randoms, I prefer it over the Stalingrad, given it's more flexible.- 11 replies

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
HaachamaShipping replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
While playing with one of our recruits, I ran into @Zen71_sniper in their Yorck. Sadly, it was a short encounter, but your team at least won. Also met @Mr_Tayto in their Gadjah Mada. Won that time. -
Yuudachi announced as tier 7 Premium
HaachamaShipping replied to ApesTogetherStronK's topic in General Discussion
Funnily enough, when the torps are crap, you'd expect this to be the downside. But no, it must be the selling point of the ship in WGs mind, as Yuudachi gets 9s gun reload for "balance", I guess...- 87 replies

Never thought I'd miss the toxicity of WoT

Sadly, there's likely copyright issues, else they could do the Yuudachi poi as horn, just like WV meme horn. -

Only because our clan leader will likely buy her as soon as they can, then spam Poi themselves every match when we play in division. -

I don't even need a Yuudachi to be greeted with "Poi" in half the matches I play. -
Yoshino 310mm Shell Weight?
HaachamaShipping replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
Because Yoshino gets 30 mm amidships plating, Azuma does not. Yoshino can take a Montana shell and not instantly lose over 10k hp to a citadel hit, because the citadel is positively massive behind absolute paper for armour. Meanwhile Musashi basically does have Yamato's armour layout. Only real differences are that Musashi sits higher in the water, which typically does not make a significant difference, and the Musashi gets less superstructure and instead more open deck space of plating that cannot even be HE penned by the Hindenburg or Henri.
