Montpellier has the advantage of being based off one of the best T8 cruisers. Yukikaze is based off the already at times questionable Kagero. Montpellier can afford to sacrifice reload for some dubious accuracy gains, Yukikaze meanwhile likely will still struggle. And for any sort of reliable performance, Harekaze will still be the best pick of the four T8 IJN torp boats.

So far, it's a Kagero with nerfed F3s. So, it's like they took the Kagero stock torps, made them 8 km but very fast. So, I'd expect a bit of a meme ship. Top tier it likely is kinda ok, bottom tier, you are basically playing IJN DD on very hard mode. Would wish they'd adjust the torp damage or at least buff the guns (ffs, I'd even take turret traverse buffs), but the main reason to get Yukikaze will likely be the camo, the captain and the premium economy. Ship will likely hardly ever see use and Harekaze will outclass it, but I still take it over the Asashio.

Alright, if you want to just dismiss it as strawman, sure. Doesn't change it that what you posted did not make sense. Stating that IFHE negates the turtleback is likely one of the dumbest things I heard today and I would have expected better from you than making that dumb claim or then trying to go at me with you strawman crap. Turtleback issues and IFHE are two completely different matters, turtleback is citadel protection, IFHE however counters the deck armour. A Henri could have Conqueror levels of HE pen, it will not be any more able to bypass the turtleback. And turtleback, even if mostly shining in terrible situation works as intented. A Kurfürst that shows broadside eats a crapton of damage, but it doesn't just lose most of its hp or insta-die like some Yamato. Meanwhile what IFHE Henri counters is the 50 mm deck, which is a seperate strength of the Kurfürst (though both strengths together contribute to the aspect of tankiness). And regarding the deck, that's kind of first world problems, when you compare it to others. Only Yamato has better HE protection on the deck, Großer Kurfürst only eats IFHE Henri, German cruiser HE, supercruiser HE and BB HE damage, like pretty much all BBs do. It has large areas of deck that shatter the HE of the actual dpm cruisers at T10. And while far from perfect, it still is a damn lot better than how Conqueror or Republique withstand HE spam. So, the deck too, is working as intented. This is like arguing Yamato accuracy is worthless, because RNG sometimes throws your shells elsewhere. Yes, the issue exists. Comparatively, Yamato still is the most accurate though. Just look at the Kurfürst you deem so terrible. So, if you are interested in "serious discussion", go and get serious arguments. Now as to the topic at hand, I agree, the GK needs better turret angles above all else. Nothing makes the ship as atrocious as this flaw that basically always negates one of your advantages, by either making you an easy broadside target or gutting the supposedly good dpm.

Likely lacks captain points. Like, full gun mode would necessitate PT/PM (pick one, likely PM), AR, BFT, AFT, IFHE, SE, EM. Where do you fit TA in? Instead of SE? Also, LU conflicts with MBM3.

First off, you get a strong urge. I don't. Second, it's hard to justify scuttling her when you see Queens Orders. So, I guess it's fine to shittalk it if it just isn't too well known? I guess I can say that British, French or German cinema is utterly terrible then, because let's be honest, there are some crappy movies. And I bet if you bring out one more obscure gem to the average Joe, they'd not have a clue. Not to mention, people who never saw Casablanca do exist. Not even few. You're pretty high tier there. I'd argue for freemium stuff like Quincy or Honolulu fit the bill more as T7 cruisers. Grenville for a more bulky RN DD. Ajax is sadly kinda hard to understand if you don't speak nipponese or get subtitles like ingame. Hammann was my suggestion, because you don't need to be a weeb to have some idea what she is calling you. And her voice is... an acquired taste for sure. Hammann in general is... (also, Sims clone fits the freemium performance bill).

Quintuple torpedo tubes, so 5 torpedos on a launcher. as you may know, Shima is the only one with those, as the others had quadruple and triple torpedo torps, while designs like Kitakaze have sextuple. Also, I care about AL Shima about as much as I care about KC Shima and WoWS Shima. Not a whole lot... Overall, it's not a terrible design, but won't ever compete in the same league as KC Shima, which is just something else, though I doubt it's because the character design is so great.

Kinda true. Atago and Prinz Eugen seemed too big characters to overlook (to the point it was surprising they weren't with Cleveland, Belfast and Hood in the first collab stage), rest are kinda tame designs. Well, Azuma is kinda well-endowed. But it's Azuma. Gotta have those huge areas of squish.

Dunno if any of my builds really is out there. Likely the most uncommon would be secondary Mutsu, to put those 20 14 cm guns to use.

Monarch accuracy is comparable to KGV. Neither is outstanding, neither is garbage. That is what my personal experience was and stats back me up. And with that kinda rear turret angle, it's 6 guns on the front for both, but you got a point.

Yes, it's a Kii-class. And is gorgeous. Just like the Kii.

Overall, Leander is a better ship. Aoba is an improved Furutaka, except for torpedo angles. It is far less powerful in its tier than Furutaka is in T5. Leander meanwhile is likely one of the best T6 cruiser picks, regardless of the format and certainly among tech tree cruisers. Leander's dpm isn't great, but it's passable and the concealment, torps, smoke, repair are all incredibly useful. I personally prefer playing Leander over playing Fiji, just for the better concealment alone, as well as the added torp per side. Leander is easily one of my favourite cruisers, being quite a steady performer and it even is a commo- eh, tech tree ship, so it is readily available for free. Also, I rather take Monarch. KGV for its tier is good, but Monarch AP is just more reliable. Also, the sole thing Monarch has less than KGV is fire chance. Even in raw HE dpm it is an upgrade. In KGV I felt like I had to rely on HE more often because the AP was just not up for the job. In Monarch, apart from the typical high tier issues that plague almost all high tier ships, the AP actually pens stuff properly and does its job, making HE a (valuable) fallback option for targets where AP just is not suitable.

Stay with some T4 ship that actually gets AA. While T3 hardly gets AA, T4 CVs do have the issue that they are quite limited in their damage output. Being able to launch like 3 torps on a squad of biplanes, each doing maybe 5k when you have good torps is quite limited compared to what others like BBs can do.

I use those on my RN cruisers, but you know, if I throw resources at the game just to make QE playable, can as well free exp through her. As I did after getting halfway to KGV.

But it's fun and sometimes kinda necessary for the win. Definitely wouldn't advise to rush a smoke without some proper careful deliberation though.

No. If you want citadels on cruisers, load AP. For everything else, you got enough HE pen already. Not worth four points. And if you don't run IFHE, you got points for CE AND FP, which should settle that matter too. Though, compared to Pete's build, I wouldn't run IFA and BFT and run FP instead.

I think that the issue of content vs bug fixes is mostly down to "what content". e.g. for more than a month now, Cleveland has gun sound issues. This is quite annoying and should be fixed. I guess it is connected to new sound system in the game, but who knows. However, it definitely isn't a reason to for example stop continue working on RU BB line or whatever premium, given that additional ships don't cause changes on a level where it affects the other ships with bugs and the folks doing ship models are a different department from the bug fixers. Obviously though, they should go fix the sounds though and not try introduce anything new in that area till they got a version that isn't having severe issues with gun sounds missing or people complaining that their ears get shredded by the AA harder than the enemy planes.

What should be simple is that if you want a serious answer, give a proper poll. If I read the poll and its silly suggestively-worded options, then the whole thread already loses its credibility, because instead of a topic trying to create a fact-based discussion, it rather looks like some emotion-based rant and not deserving to be taken serious.

Maybe. For now, we'll see. I bet it'll take us at least another year or so to get there. And without trying to be displeased about the current patch of commanders (they are, imo, well-chosen), I'd still think Jean Bart, Monarch, Ibuki or Izumo, Roon or FdG, North Carolina or Georgia would make decent additions. But I bet it'll already be a costly affair to get the bundle for this time's collab, so the wallet will need time to recover anyway.
