  1. I laugh. Also, I go by the motto of live and let live. I don't really care about Halloween/Space events. Barely play them. I don't feel inclined to complain though, given I just go play random instead and whoever wants to space battle can space battle. And I know, there also is content I enjoy others might not like. But I guess there'll always be those who just have to complain, because it is so goddamn hard to not opt in on stuff you don't like.

My Take on British (RN Cruisers)

I meant, a BB player with a brain will just turn the ship to get guns on target. And the ship with slowest guns is the Iron Duke, which I'd be very careful about, given when it fires it has a good chance to fire HE. Your 25 mm citadel deck doesn't hold that off. Anyway, the solution to me would be to either use islands, or to actually lay a smoke that can either serve as a deterrent to stop the push or for you to mask the torp rush if BBs push the smoke.

They have pretty solid turning circle though.

My Take on British (RN Cruisers)

Torps. If they push into you, torps can have enough range effectively to allow you to stealth torp, provided you get CE. Otherwise, aim for weak areas. On T5 BBs, bow, stern, superstructure. Mid-section is usually just well-armoured and the Emerald guns might struggle penning that. As a last resort, which only works vs T5 BBs: torp rush. Go bow-in, don't give broadside. Emerald's citadel is protected by 25 mm reinforced bow. You might eat a ton of damage from casemate pens, but you should survive to get torps off. This I wouldn't recommend to do in open waters or without some serious do-or-die situation at your hands.

Monarch - Sharing Thoughts and Tips

In the interest of being fair and making fact-based claims, I tried it out in training battle, matching NC vs Monarch, NC vs NC and Monarch vs NC. The results pretty much tell me what I suspected is the case. NC vs Monarch looks like this: Clearly, Monarch must be utterly crap! Well, let's test NC vs NC. So, it shows, this is a case of #JustNCThings, not of Monarch being especially trash. Also, highlights why main armaments mod should be taken. Lastly, Monarch vs NC: Given that if you put them out Monarch likely sets more in two salvos (USN damecon is longer than Monarch reload), overall the combination of raw HE damage and fires will grind your BB down faster than Monarch succumbs to AP pens and overpens on its superstructure. Especially if the enemy is not an NC/Alabama/Massachusetts, but some Bismarck, Amagi or Richelieu. Note that IJN HE dpm isn't that far behind though and an Amagi/Kii could technically do the same if they actually realise that their HE shells are 6.5k alpha nukes. Also, given 11k salvos with HE, why stay with AP you might ask? Why not just load HE all the time like the typical RN BB? First off, 4k salvos do exist too, but they can set fires. Issue is, only bow in, HE will do consistently more than AP. On broadside, at sub-10 km, you can load AP and do very consistently 10k and more, while HE can still give you those lulzy 4k salvos. I had salvos on Tirpitz do 19k in AP, which you wouldn't ever get from an HE salvo. Obviously against cruisers or BBs with reachable citadel, the difference is even greater. That's why you keep AP and use HE as some backup ammo that isn't bad, but basically your plan B. Also, the obvious, even if a 4k+fire adds up to maybe 11k too, in an engagement you usually want enemies to die sooner rather than later. Fire is damage spread out over time, pen damage is instantanous. A fire might be dameconned once one is no longer being shot at or if it gets too dangerous, pen damage has no such issues. Thus, HE is basically just best used when AP just cannot give the better result, so fighting against targets that you don't overmatch or DDs.

Monarch - Sharing Thoughts and Tips

Tirpitz and Bismarck both have not just 1 whole second worse reload, they have 1 gun less. And yes, 1/3 of Monarch's dpm is on a rear turret with meh angle, but on the Germans it's 1/2 that is on back turrets with not really much better angles. As to the rest, it doesn't matter as much. Monarch has better concealment by far, especially if the Bismarck or Tirpitz run the secondary spec. In a 1v1, Monarch can basically crap on both, given you just turn around and kite, they do not have enough speed to catch you for Tirpitz torps and the secondaries mostly have so little pen that the main gun dpm advantage of the Monarch is more relevant. As to bow tanking, Monarch basically only takes damage from superstructure hits, like any BB. The superstructure does not have enough hp to really sink the ship. Meanwhile Monarch HE pens pretty much anything. NC AP also might do some decent damage at range, due to being slow enough to plunge, but if you are losing vs a NC at range, there is something wrong about how you play this ship. KGV AP is on Mutsu's level, but without the overmatch. KGV AP fails to do crap all if the enemy BB (or 25 mm cruiser) actually starts to angle. KGV AP also fails to pen even just slightly armoured belt of sturdier BBs at range. Yes, if you are firing at broadside cruisers or at broadside BBs that are sub-10 km, the AP works, but otherwise, it's worthless. As a result, KGV often will have to resort to HE, which is not an adequate replacement. KGV AP is workable the same way PEF AP is workable at T6. and yes, firing HE at bow-in BBs works, but can be not enough dpm to put a threat down. I know that from playing Gneisenau against them. If they are not kiting, KGV is like the most easy target to pick on, because they just cannot hurt you fast enough for you to not just delete them with torps. Similarly, other ships with overmatch can utterly demolish KGV, like Nelson, Hood, Nagato, Colorado, Ashitaka or anything of T7 and above and the KGV AP only really matters when you get their broadside at short to medium range. By contrast, Monarch gets shells that aren't exceptionally garbage for its tier and while it cannot pen other T8s through the bow, no T8 can do that to its peers. While you no longer get tanked by Clevelands or Mogamis. Also, as a general update, as I heard of the changes to Monarch_T, the test version of new Monarch: as long as you don't run into Yamato/Musashi, this might just be straight up lulzy. Monarch likely will basically tank sub-46 cm AP the way Roma does, with proper angling and a ton of belt armour and while it still might eat pens, being able to recover 85% of that is just ridiculous. The 32 mm citadel deck also should make it far more resistant to anything not hitting the citadel belt. The heal buff looks nice, but basically adds up to giving her about as much potential hp as an Amagi (~121k). Though Monarch can likely get the full value out of most repairs if it doesn't eat citadels. Kinda like a different flavour of what we already got with Vanguard.
  7. Tbf, it might be that they will seperate the 457s for a seperate ship, Kreml/Slava style, so they might not see a reason to adress those on Conqueror.

Monarch - Sharing Thoughts and Tips

After having posted this and having gone to bed, I realised, I forgot to point out something: Yes, I say if you play Monarch for support, try to apply your dpm. However, when I say work with smart positioning, then that includes naturally that you should keep an eye out for potential ambushes. For those, you might have to stop firing for a bit to get your concealment back, but if you can catch targets out, it certainly can be worth it. Catching something like a Russian cruiser broadside for example is an easy chance to remove some strong ship from the game, earn yourself a good bit of damage and maybe a devstrike medal. Bonus points when it is a Moskva or Stalingrad. Typically, I almost never play Monarch stationary, but move around at all times, which given Monarch's speed and range serves also to properly keep up with the flow of the battle.

    Supertest - New Camouflage

That's subjective. I like my Kobayashi camo on Kii. Admittedly, it doesn't put a beercan on the ship, but still. If I have reservations, it's basically that for aesthetic purposes, I have the K117 camo and a Kobayashi camo on Yamato basically would be just for me to calculate whether it is worth the cost to get, just so my Yamato can beat Musashi for credit farming. Given Kii camo cost like 20 Euro, I'd guess this would cost 30-40, at which point I rather buy a T8 premium ship, save the money for AL collab or just spend it on something else in my life that is more useful.

    Großer Kurfürst need boost

Agreed. Even if I die in Kurfürst, it usually is my bad positioning or it's a situation where I'd have tied in most BBs, given that I rarely die with less than 2 million potential.

    Module vulnerability

Put some bot teams in training room to fight each other in torp boats. Then the prospect of automated torp tubes is more terrifying than awesome.

Can you imagine that 8 CVs is something the matchmaker is hardcoded to never do?

    What cruiser line to play?

I mean, sure, but it is hard to deny that there is a good bit of difference between most cruisers and RN, especially once you reach T9 or T10. Something like a Seattle doesn't have great armour, but it can actually tank shells from all other cruisers if properly angled and will often just be overpenned. Meanwhile Neptune can be wrecked by a handful of cruisers even, regardless of angle and when caught broadside you mostly eat citadels. This also translates to T6 and T7, which unlike all other cruisers at their tier still get overmatched by 203 mm guns. Of course if you really want the full Omaha experience till T10, including the garbage armour, then by all means, go with RN. But it should be pointed out that by T5 certain cruisers get armour that matters and by T10, you better are aware of what your armour can or cannot hold off. Unless you want to cultivate the next cruiser potato that gets devstruck at T10 in their Des Moines because they weren't aware that they can't tank Montana/Kurfürst shells like a Hindenburg.
  15. HaachamaShipping

    What cruiser line to play?

Given Omaha seems to be the his first T5 cruiser, I think he might just not be aware what armour is and that it might matter at later tiers. Like, T5 is the first time you actually have meaningful armour on a cruiser with the Furutaka.
  16. HaachamaShipping

    What cruiser line to play?

Might want to point out, this line has no armour and the upper tiers have partially less armour than DDs. Their citadel is the only thing that has armour worth mentioning, but is huge and when hit they tend to just die. Yorck has a 25 mm midsection. That's pretty good for T7. Only Myoko is better armoured. USA: Get used to the ballistics, then they are solid. If the shell speed is a complete deal breaker though, go with other lines. RU: They got most things down for you with good ballistics and decent turret traverse, but yes, the ships need a bit long for turns and are easy to blap if you catch their side. Not bad ships, but more long range. IJN: If you hate Pensacola, these ships might just not be for you. Their turret traverse is pretty poor, they turn somewhat decent, but not really great there either, ballistics are nice. They are heavy cruisers mostly, like Pensacola and they rely like Pensacola on good damage per salvo, not damage per minute. Aoba might look like having only half the guns, but gets 11 s reload and torps. Also, a lot better armour. UK: Yes, they got all you asked for. But no armour and thus can be quite hard to play. also, they only fire AP. French: Imo, they fulfill your criteria the most, being decent in all three areas. Germans: These are also pretty ok. Like the French, for most of the line, they are rather standard with little too special. In general, I'd consider German or French decent lines for beginners.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Met @Atorpad on the enemy team. We were both in Monarchs. I even got to shoot you. I do recommend the AP on Monarch though. It really isn't bad.

Wargaming vs Yostar which side are you on

    Why are there sides?
  19. Standard on T8 is 10 km though.

How to make the game more enjoyable

If a DD or BB destroys 50 planes, then usually because the CV is utterly incompetent at dodging flak or knowing where to fly and where not to. Nerf it further and sure, you don't get flooded down, but you will basically make most ship AA a joke, except when a CV continues to persistently fly into flak bursts. And I rather keep my ability to torp CVs than whatever sort of nerf you would suggest for damage vs DDs, because heck, even if you made CVs only ever do 10% of max damage on DDs like a BB, they'd kill the DD faster than the DD kills them with the exception of RU gun boats that can try to citpen the CV to death. Because with nerfed AA, more damage vs non-DD targets, less damage on DDs, but immunity to DD torps, might as well just farm all your bigger friends till it's just the CV and DD, then go cap, because what's the DD gonna do? Overall, these suggestions for the most part seem shortsighted and going into directions that just make things sillier.
  21. HaachamaShipping

How to make the game more enjoyable

Sure... Depending on where AA settles, this either means you once again run into some Montana or Mino wall of flak by the time the ship renders and lose a ton of planes, because that's what taking away the remaining spotting entails, or basically every ship that isn't unspotted is free to be farmed by CVs, cause AA got nerfed to be a joke. First would screw over CVs, latter would screw over everyone else. If the latter option of above is combined with this, we'll get those 0.8.0 flashbacks when AA was most often simply a joke and even cruisers are typically just free to be farmed (can still happen now vs some unicums, but that'll then be what everyone does). BBs will last a bit longer due to generally higher sustain, but are also not long for this world. Very fun indeed. I wanna see you kill a Midway or Hakuryu in a Gearing without using torps. Even with nerfed damage capability, that cV has worked you over long before you killed them, thanks to reinforced deck + CV fire duration and now being absolutely immune to the one large damage source DDs had left against the CV. Least consequential, as anyone with a bit of brain can usually deduct the location from the direction the planes are coming from. Flooding already got reworked due to CVs, nerfing fire and flooding into the ground sure will not affect the life of DDs and cruisers that rely on them, because reinforced decks on BBs are so damn rare... Overall, this proposal is probably balanced in how much worse it potentially can get for all classes depending on how these suggestions would be realised, to the point that while every class has maybe some balance (though CV and BB are net beneficiaries, cruisers are the greatest victims), all classes become more annoying to play.

How about no? I am pretty sure most of these will make the game a good bit less enjoyable.

Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)

She's at least in the collection. Also, Sandy would have required a premium San Diego.

How often do you find yourself in tight equal games?

Also, watch out for Bot 3. He's kinda special.
  25. CV yes, BBs no. I don't need 20 km to kill a BB, the only BB that could try to counter my concealment advantage is Missouri. And CV only because they force play from further away to avoid being without cover. I would have listed radar cruisers as countering Yukikaze harder than Kagero, but cruisers in general are a pain for Asashio to deal with, if the team doesn't do it for you. None. But I take a still decent premium over one that is mostly going to be a meme.
