ST, Victory competition, new unique commander
HaachamaShipping replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
I find it funny that the commander has the one condition most easily triggerable of them all. Then again, it's also the least incredible buff. -
ST, new map, improvements for aircraft carriers, dynamic daytime in port and other changes
HaachamaShipping replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
I can already see the threads about how this'll overturn the entire T1 competitive meta. First Black Swan, now this... -
Maybe will play a match in Mino, but honestly, this'll be a season I pass on. Yoshino is coal, Stalingrad I have, CV CBs were enough of a derp fiesta and there I knew my team mates.
-
It is slow, but devastating. 8 high tier guns on T6 is no joke and hits will leave a mark.
-
Given it's usually pointless to argue with you, I'm not going to try and write some extensive reply to this, but point to my earlier post where you felt like ignoring large tracts (which is part of why it is pointless to argue with you). In randoms you always find a potato giving broadside. In CB, the higher you get, the more people have an idea what they are doing and the less they get randomly blapped by Stalingrad. And when the ship can't farm citadels, it's basically a Moskva with crap dpm and worse fire duration.

ST, changes to the Soviet battleships, Georgia, Indomitable, Yoshino
HaachamaShipping replied to shonai's topic in Development Blog
Stop spreading the disease that is 2.5 km detection long range torps. Everyone with a brain knows they are trash and those who use them will manage to shove it up some team mates stern half the time. It's terrible enough this persists on shima, but do we need it on Yuudachi and Yoshino too now? -
Damn, I feel so out of meta... Secondary spec, because, you know, German...

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
HaachamaShipping replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Yes, it says so in the text you quoted. Also, why does Kreml get 60 mm plating while Slava gets nerfed to 32 mm due to "excessive protection"? I'm kinda hard-pressed to see the point of Slava. Originally, I thought it might be that it was an attempt at giving the RU BB line a T10 that could be used in competitive meta, but if the ship has 32 mm plating, RU citadel, 406 mm guns with standard dispersion and 2.0 sigma, the ship looks basically like a 2 knot faster Yamato with worse armour and, worse accuracy and no overmatch. Or a terrible Republique. What am I missing or is the T10 of RU basically just close/mid-range derp and absolute mediocrity? -
USS Washington (BB-56) - a good idea for Tier 7 premium BB?
HaachamaShipping replied to HussarKaz's topic in General Discussion
Ah yeah, because I guess Nagato, Colorado, Nelson, Lyon, KGV, they all are underpowered with their 25 mm plating. Every T7 has to deal with the issue of potentially getting overmatched, your Washington is nothing special. Even its citadel does not compare to Nelson that frequently gets citpenned through the bow. Sorry, but that's how it goes, T7, 25 mm armour. Want your 32 mm, go to T8. West Virginia at T6 pretty much gave up a ton of hp (both in terms of the hp pool and repair party), a good bit of mobility, basically all AA, improved accuracy, torpedo protection, range, just so it could retain the punchy guns of Colorado at T6. And look there, it's one of the highest-performing T6 BBs. -
RN Light Cruisers - Tactics advice? (Emerald and onwards)
HaachamaShipping replied to Lea_Flamma's topic in Cruisers
You do realise you are comparing a T5 with two T7s? From Leander on, RN Cls kind of get decent tools for their job. Emerald is basically like Omaha. Core concept-wise, the same as subsequent ships, but kinda T5 garbage. Dallas, helena and Cleveland all are so much better tier for tier. -
USS Washington (BB-56) - a good idea for Tier 7 premium BB?
HaachamaShipping replied to HussarKaz's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely no reason to not go 25 mm. Nine 406 mm guns and a 28 knot speed are already a strong enough combination. It'd basically be a Nelson that changes superheal for guns that can pen stuff, which imo would already make the ship one of the most insane T7s in the game. Even at that state I'd find it incredibly OP and wouldn't want it in the game. -
Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya and Russian BB
HaachamaShipping replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
What historical inaccuracy? One is the old Gangut, one is the refitted OR. Both are two states of a ship that once existed. Both are quite accurate in that respect. Meanwhile Republique is an utter paper project that never received a name, it isn't just an existing ship that underwent a refit. Also Benson/Loyang. -
USS Washington (BB-56) - a good idea for Tier 7 premium BB?
HaachamaShipping replied to HussarKaz's topic in General Discussion
Ah yes, I can totally see how a 1.8 sigma (so, average accuracy) with 9 T8 guns, T8 armour plating and a 28 knot speed is totally balanced at T7... How about bloody hell no? And no, Sinop is not an excuse for this. -
Even stock with no modifications Hipper has 15 s rudder shift, Bismarck top hull is 16 s. So, no, Bismarck is not more maneuverable than Hipper. If you actually set up your Hipper properly with top hull and rudder module like any person with a working brain, the Hipper gets 7.4 s.
-
Could you, ffs, stop arguing ships are more sluggish at T8 when basically 90% of that is because you are using goddamn stock ships with propulsion mod, comparing them to lower tier top hull ships with steering gears mod? Your comparison is pretty much worthless because the way you set your ships up for comparison just cannot be taken serious. Also, you have no idea what the role of DDs is, is what I get from your post.

WTF Yamato! Help me with this ship please!
HaachamaShipping replied to hamed_pour's topic in General Discussion
Most HE falls on the deck, not the side. By the time a ship can hit the sides, you usually can load AP. Arguing about Yamato being stationary, thus more vulnerable is like arguing Conqueror is the least affected by HE because nothing hits it when it spams HE from 24 km. The only reason GK encourages movement more is because its fundamental layout sucks for camping, as you either give too much stationary broadside or lose half your dpm. That however doesn't mean you have to sit in one position with Yamato. Exactly because you set yourself up to getting farmed. As long as you don't broadside someone, even the cheek issue is more manageable while moving compared to being absolutely stationary and an easy target. -
WTF Yamato! Help me with this ship please!
HaachamaShipping replied to hamed_pour's topic in General Discussion
And that "No" is directed at what? I said "most HE resistant", not "impervous to HE". And in terms of withering HE shells, Yamato is arguably the best. I am a bit surprised you call Kurfürst better and then list Yamato's weakness as its size. Yamato is smaller, while still having the second best HP pool, has 57 mm plating on the entire centre part that doesn't get HE penned by any cruiser except IFHE supercruisers/Germans, whereas Kurfürst only gets 50 mm, Kurfürst gets the same 32 mm extremities except for bow plating that is however on the sides, not on the top where HE falls. Kurfürst also has a much larger superstructure. -

Yamato is the most HE resistant T10 BB though. At least till Kreml. -

HaachamaShipping replied to hamed_pour's topic in General Discussion
Apart from 203 mm USN guns and the 305 mm guns of Alaska as mentioned by another person already, improved pen angles can be found on the RN CL line (except premiums and Black Swan), Duke of York and in a reduced fashion on the Stalingrad. -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
HaachamaShipping replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
The fun part to me is, they first tested it with improved secondary accuracy, then took that away, now they test it with improved secondary range. I guess next they replace that with actual RoF buff on the secondaries. I'm not sure whether WG may ever understand that basically the sole reason Massachusetts secondaries are worth a damn is the combination of the three factors, not single aspect buffs that still leave these guns lacking in other areas. Because why would I spec into Georgia secondaries just because they have better range? They are straight up worse than Izumo secondaries and Izumo already isn't really worth a secondary spec. Georgia is no more a brawler than Izumo either. -

Good DD players - Asashio - yes or no?
HaachamaShipping replied to Zen71_sniper's topic in Destroyers
Or get some actually useful skills, given 4 pts to buff terrible guns in a questionable aspect is just not worth it. It's first and foremost a torpedo boat. If you fight enemy DDs, BFT, EM, AR, SE all help way more win that fight, given the range would usually be sufficient. If you fight cruisers, don't, because they wreck you. If you have to, you aren't much harder to hit at 12 km than at 10 km. IFHE at least allows you to actually damage cruisers. If you fight BBs, use torps. -

Nah, this and freeing up captain points with extra repair party on Hindenburg is to give IFHE Hindenburg a new role in the meta.
