And Khaba at the very least can either smoke up or recover some of that 8k damage, other DDs could just smoke up if caught in an unfavourable position. Le Terrible can't. Le Terrible, like most French DDs against good CVs can decide whether it wants to try hug some AA support and be the world's worst Charles Martel or whether it goes out and dies.

Depends on rockets. Tiny Tims and GZ rockets for example are an ellipsis, so you need to approach from front or back to hit most rockets. HVARs may seem circular, but the target area is so large most will usually go into the sea, not the DD. IJN reticule is a small circle, but IJN also gets rockets of lower quality. For what IJN rockets do in damage, the reticule is kinda fine, because it's the only decent anti-DD armament these ships have and aiming that rocket fighter isn't easier than for a rushing DD to hit a CV with its guns.

Back to the damage farm again? I thought the change to base exp was one of the best changes to naval battles, as it encouraged actually trying to win the game. But now we are back to just trying to farm as hard as possible even if it throws the game. Why?

I mean, you could still be worse of, like Kaga. I don't wanna use those crap rockets. Also using 40 knot 8 km torps on Haku is still questionable imo. Also because anything but stand-off torping is practically a one-way trip.

Not really. If you get DBed or carpet bombed in a Brit BB or French BB (32 mm plating, so pen doesn't matter), it's basically not much difference whether it's an Audacious or a Midway. The best the Audacious really can do is set a few more fires. But alpha damage is not too different in my experience. If you meanwhile look at cruisers or DDs, yeah, lol, Midway wrecks them so much harder, compared to Audacious that drops most bombs into the sea. And if you think that farming fire damage off BBs is more useful than nuking a DD or cruiser with precision DBs, then that is an "oopsie", I guess.

Well, even then, it seems more than just the diehard CV fan core is playing CVs and is getting some kicks out of it. And to be fair, while even a dumb CV can be frustrating due to passive spotting and some harrassing, a good few people keep playing them despite being unable to "own the battlefield". In general, to me, this is just a sign that anyone who's ranting about how CVs are just played by a minority and that WG should just sack them altogether should rethink that stance. That's why Brit bombers are so much better than Freedom ones, right? Oh, wait...

+ 6x2 15 cm guns that can pen most BBs. Doesn't have the Gneisenau's dpm, but it has more range. Bismarck is just less close-range focused, which is just for the better.

I mean, I don't own the Azuma, but even with a cruiser, if you catch their broadsides, it isn't hard to citpen them from close to mid range. If you throw a CA against them and a good few outspot the Azuma, you can devastate them from the side. You cannot do the same to Kronshtadt or Alaska.

Alright, finished collecting 180k exp to get to Lion. While I also had a few terrible games (like with any ship really), overall, I found Monarch a somewhat reliable ship. It isn't outstanding in most categories other than reload, concealment and HE performance, but I find these easier strengths to put to use than for example secondaries. As I already stated in my first post, I do understand why some people don't feel comfortable with this ship, but I do think that the ship itself is still competitive. Also, in current CV meta, it really helps not getting dumpstered by AP bombers like some Bismarck/Tirpitz. Now, onwards to Lion I go, though Monarch will stay in port.

Not really related to the rockets though. Their WR was already low prior to 0.8.0. Of course rockets did not help their gameplay either, but that can be said about most DDs.

I actually have better stats in Nagato than in Amagi. I don't know, but I can't think of a really "bad" tech tree T7 BB. They all are quite strong if used well (though I never played Lyon or Sinop, just played against them). Amagi isn't bad either though, so good luck. I bought permacamo for the ship now, cause it looks nice on Nagato. Would've kept Colorado, but credits and got WV.

I planned to rebuy it for months now, especially since I grinded through Colorado and found Colorado amazing due to the good guns, so Nagato should be same kind of solid, but faster. Rebought it a couple days ago to be the silver ship for my AL Azuma captain (given yoshino will be a premium, so I don't need it specialised for that). Nagato did indeed not disappoint. Also, while I had little opinion of AL Azuma before, I find her voice surprisingly pleasant. Meanwhile in other news, decided to do my last match in Monarch, so I can unlock Lion. I must admit, I only played this line and got to Monarch because of AL Monarch, but the ship has been surprisingly fun, despite all the folks telling me it's crap. And as if to highlight that, my last game was a true finale. I'm definitely going to keep this ship though. Also, tfw you get a CQE vs a Bismarck.

No, because 7% dpm is an actual difference. Montpelier actually has less HE dpm than the Helena or 155 Mogami, while Cleveland beats both.

You're talking as if Cleveland had issues hitting enemies. 2.15 dispersion vs 2.0 dispersion is basically a joke.
