30s base reload. Barely better than KM to the point that there is no real difference. If you don't die along the way. Also, if you zoom out, you can aim lower. As someone who played FdG in T9 ranked vs Musashi and JB spam, have fun brawling a ship that matches your main gun reload and which melts you with IFHE secondaries because your armour is frankly crap. Obviously vs Musashi having actual armour that doesn't as easily get overmatched also makes FdG a better brawler there.

Jean Bart guns are: more accurate due to higher sigma faster with their reload Jean Bart will give more consistent results, Richelieu basically has the gunnery performance of a Bismarck or Tirpitz. at sub-8 km punching through Yamato armour at the right angle is not a feat, but can be achieved by any high tier BB. Too bad if the Yamato is well-angled, it just craps all over you, because French BBs T8+ only get 32 mm of armour. Doesn't even need HE spammers to back it up, Yamato can trash you on its own. Also, as underwhelming as the ship may be, if it comes down to pure brawling power, FdG obviously outperforms Jean Bart.

While it is to be seen what the BB will be, Ark Royal is basically the most clearly identifiable of the ships, so it's the ship hinted towards in the video and announced yesterday, not some "random CV". Indomitable will be a seperate ship that has been in testing for quite some while and god knows what will come of it.

You know something's wrong when you are glad you don't have to play. Keep your steel, I keep my sanity, thanks. -

Is it just me, to think that this will likely be great meme material given what it gets matched against... -

Apart from yolo torp rushes vs BBs in Zao being an absolute act of desperation that should not have any expectation of success anyway, I'd still angle slightly, because while it offers more target, most of the area is just my 30 mm side that cannot be overmatched and bounces shells, while anything that hits the bow is a normal pen, not a full on cit. Also, Ark Royal coming. Dunno what to expect, given I'd like to say endless amount of Swordfishes, but GZ showed you cannot count on iconic aircraft. at least this clarifies the hint in the Bismarck song description, though I had hoped for Sheffield (to replace Belfast as high tier prem RN CL in the shop). -

If the enemy can aim accurately for your bow, then why are you going bow-in? To make sure shells can go right into the cit? Not to mention, there's a reason why Zaos and Henris don't brawl BBs. But if you get shot at and can't dodge, this is basically what you try to get hit on. -

Not get hit or try get hit on angled mid-section. Arguably works best on Hindenburg. But trying to bow-tank Montanas is just asking to get crapped on throgh the bow. -

You know what overmatches all cruisers and has silly dispersion? Georgia. And if you want your 25 mm extremity plating cruisers to not eat heavy damage from the front, then the issue with this ship is the caliber, not the accuracy. You could give it battlecruiser accuracy, it'd still do the same. If a supercruiser gets 38 cm guns, then regardless of accuracy, the most stupid approach is trying to bowtank it and Henri and Zao will have to tread this ship like pretty much any BB they face. And sure, it'd be better off as a BB, because what the heck will the armour of this thing be? -
I'll just leave this for @El2aZeR You actually show up for a few seconds.

Midway torpedo on Shimakaze strikes for 3330 damake. Working as intended or RNG hates me?
HaachamaShipping replied to Bartleby74's topic in General Discussion
It's likely damage saturation. Common mechanic, nothing new. -

And get citadelled through the bow, because Omaha has a lulzy 10 mm bow armour that gets overmatched by CL guns? Though still better than Emerald that can get citadelled by HE rounds even by accident. To be fair though, tutorials would be great but has been axed by WG quite some time ago when they said they wouldn't bother. -
WG's New Collection Policy
HaachamaShipping replied to black_falcon120's topic in General Discussion
Which is why there is no purchaseable option to accelerate completion of the Azur Lane collection? I mean, if they just wanted you to throw money at all the collections, you'd think that they'd make purchaseable AL containers that contain AL collection items (which the current AL containers don't). -
Depends on AA layout of the ship. Overall continuous dps > flak bursts, as one you can dodge, the other you can't. But then you run into cases like Harekaze or Yamato, where the continuous dps is often utter garbage and you basically rely on flak bursts to do anything, though in such cases, it is often not worth to bother speccing into AA skills that don't improve anything else of value (like, BFT on a DD boosts main gun dpm, so it's often worth it anyway. On Yamato, it boosts secondaries, which you don't care about). But if you got any ship with somewhat okish base dps and enough ways to boost it, it can turn out decent. No, it's a needlessly complicated mechanic, because why make it easy to understand. In general, it depends on what kind of ship you are dealing with. Is the skill buffing anything meaningful otherwise? Is there a synergy with existing resources? For example, in general, the best AA skill is Manual AA, followed by BFT, followed by Superindentant (if you got a fighter plane, defAA or smoke), then extra fighter plane, followed by lastly AFT. Yet, for example on Harekaze, I'd use the BFT, because it gives me better stats in other areas too that are important, while I don't have 4 points to waste on Manual AA that won't save the ship either. On ships where I spec into AA on purpose though (in my case that is Sims, Hood, Kii and Minotaur), I go with Manual AA.

Or you learn the ropes in a normal cruiser line and excel with RN CLs when you got the basics down instead of getting deleted every second game and having to suffer through the low tiers. Not to mention, Minotaur is a ship you will not bring to CB most of the time and even in ranked you are better off with other ships. Also, you might say Fiji was great fun and you didn't care if you lost or won, but others do care if they lose or win and personally, while Fiji is a good ship, I for example found it actually boring and it's one of my least liked mid-to-high tier RN CLs, after Neptune. Such things change depending on person. I'd recommend differentiating between your personal preferences and objective characteristics of ships. Saying this is a good line becauseit was fun so you didn't care about performance is not the greatest of advice.

CV: Spotting changes super test
HaachamaShipping replied to anonym_cwVecOS6ecVy's topic in General Discussion
Indomitable already cuts it to two. So, the trend is there. -
Recommending RN CL to a person that never played any higher tier cruiser or DD is kind of silly, given T8-10 DDs have literally better armour than RN CLs (19 mm plating instead of 16 mm, with RN CLs getting better plating on the citadel which the DD does not have). also, Leander is great fun too.

to WG: business practices regarding AL collab
HaachamaShipping replied to zenhyan's topic in Archive
Yeah, despite all my enthusiasm for the collab, the silly containers just spoiled a lot of it. Because there's otherwise a lot of positive things to be said, be it that we got two collab ships (which are pretty ok, not immensely powerful, but certainly not utterly terrible), the bundles for what they are, are pretty decently priced given WG standards (if we assume the price of 40 Euro per ship and 10 per captain, you'd already get to 160 Euro with just the ships and the second wave captains. First wave included, 2k doubloons and a ton of signal flags and camos are then basically a bonus. First wave bundle is ridiculously cheap for those who didn't yet pick it up and second wave is basically 10 Euro per captain) and the typical free captain and a funny new port for free, as well as one more free captain in a collection. But this is basically just great for people who have the money to not care and buy it all. People who are less well-off can basically just hope that the captains will trickle through to them the way AL captains slowly were given for free up to now (free Nelson at first collab, Hipper and Avrora with "It's Hip to be Azur", Hood now with second wave). Which is a shame, because there's a lot of those who want 1-2 captains, not 8, or who can afford 1-2 captains, not 8. Or personally, I was thinking of gifting a friend one, as I did with first collab, but I'm not going to encourage this container business. -
I got multicitadelled by an NC through the bow once and it was basically at 9-11 km. So, American slow shells can do it.
-
Stalin is more probable than Moskva, as the 50 mm section is less. It isn't very common though.
-
So? Yamato is not one of those though, given it's 1.4k on an overpen vs 2.4k on an HE pen. If the question was about some German or Italian BB, sure, I'd not bother. But IJN improved HE damage is what matters here.

The only thing I'm excited about is Monarch getting 1.9 sigma. Soon the time will come for Monarch to be a force to be feared like AL Monarch. I cannot wait for my Monarch to be even better. Oh, also, obligatory excitement for Poi getting less garbage torps, before my clan puts me in front of the firing squad. But yeah, very excited about Monarch being strong in both games soon. She's already such a beauty. -
Roma's 18.1km Range: Is it really justified at tier 8?
HaachamaShipping replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
I like my Roma, even if I lost my first few games with her and only now see my WR recovering. I can see why the ship might not suit everyone's tastes, but it's a pretty solid BB and the only really sad thing is its 4.6 km AA range. But so far, it managed to be my second-best T8 BB in terms of average damage, just after my actual new favourite, Monarch (which also is short-ranged, coincidentally). But yeah, no reason to buff the range, because with spotter plane it's good enough, considering the dispersion. -
Absolutely worth it if you are sure you are shooting a DD next. The only BB with more HE alpha on a shell is 457 Conqueror. 7.3k alpha per shell can absolutely nuke DDs.
