    Met the great master of close-quarters carriers @Beastofwar in battle today. Sadly, upon requesting them to brawl my humble cruiser, they stated that Enterprise has only 4 secondaries. I was very disappointed. I guess they don't fully practice what they preach. Not that a GZ would have fared better...

    Azuma/Yoshino have nowhere near enough of a pen advantage to make up for Alaska improved pen angles in my experience. Even with the lauded accuracy. Together with Alaska surviving at mid tiers, it allows the ship to play around AP as standard ammo, while Azuma/Yoshino maybe load AP when a cruiser or carrier goes full broadside or you spot a RN CL.

    For IJN, these are generous angles. Atago setup. One per side launches forward, one launcher rearward, a bit of overlap in the centre.

    Gunnery-wise, Graf Spee, Kronshtadt and Stalingrad. Survivability-wise, Alaska and Stalingrad, as long as you don't give broadside. Overall, tankiest cruiser is likely the Alaska, while the tankiest cruiser while angled bow-on is Moskva.

    Without announced nerf, Henri and Yoshino share same dpm, just yoshino is less accurate and has a bit more range, while Henri has reload booster to break the tie. With the Henri reload nerf, the Henri will be slightly behind, but only without considering reload booster. also, this does not consider legendary mod. I'd usually value the Henri's mobility, accuracy and survivability more than 12-20 km meme torps. Thus I said, unless Henri gets nerfed drastically or Yoshino is getting a buff to its armour (so it can actually make use of its hp pool), the AP performance (so it is actually capable of reliably capitalising on its large gun caliber) or maneuverability (so it can dodge AND reposition better, rudder shift buff alone won't cut it), the Yoshino is not going to ever be able to take the Henri's spot and for other things it's not suitable. Or, if Kremlin becomes so utterly ridiculous, that 60 mm pen becomes necessary. Though Hindenburg is the better dpm.

    Yoshino is not a ship that is too useful for CB. Not because it loses out to Zao, but because it loses out to Henri. Henri offers similar dpm, 50 mm pen decent ranged AP performance and a torp punch that can be used in brawls, but is way more mobile and less easy to delete. It also is more accurate. However, even for clans that don't have an Henri, most would have a Hindenburg, which is also not bad for 50 mm pen. Frankly, Yoshino really is just going to be for those who cannot scrap enough Henris together and prefer the long range torps to the dpm advantage of Hinden. Even with recently announced Henri nerfs and Hinden buffs. The only way I could see this change would be if Henri got nerfed hard or if Yoshino get a significant buff to either its armour, maneuverability or its AP performance. The terrible citadel protection isn't even that much of an issue for CB imo, as most enemies in CB are cruisers that don't overmatch Yoshino the way BBs do and angled, the ship can soak up quite a bit of damage. One other thing I find still questionable is the added repair party, which is kinda useless with the current armour scheme. But what else do you take for 3 points that isn't BoS and SI? DE to move fire chance from 27% to 29%?

    Yoshino is basically a slightly obese lovechild of a Zao and Henri. Is it the best you can get for coal? Likely not. But it's decent enough that I don't regret buying it for weeb reasons.

    While for older accounts, they likely have better ways to farm credits if they really need them. I guess if you really don't give a damn about getting the rewards anytime soon, you could just stockpile the dupes, but even something like 200 dupes takes over two months to collect for what will be 3 million credits.

    Just on the sidelines, I find it weird how everytime I see artwork of Swiftsure, there'll be comments comparing to Monika and Springfield. Which reminds me of how people kept posting Springfield in r/DDLC , because you know, they didn't know any better and you gotta admit, at least they have a similar colour palette. But Swiftsure doesn't, so what gives? Like, yes, she has a ponytail, but her eyes are red, the others were goddamn green...

    45k a day sounds... underwhelming. On some collections you could likely profit more from just taking the permacamo you get at the end and save the money that way by playing 1-2 matches a day.

    This is exagerated compared to other ships. Not only does the superstructure on most of these ship not hold a candle to the amount of penetrable area on other ships, it also can get saturated more easily. And yes, Soviets are more resistant to fires and floods for as long as they have damecon charges, but they cannot extract themselves anywhere as easily without some BB deleting their citadel. So, they are better for a well-timed push. Not for a mistimed push, where they die as soon as they show anywhere enough side to not get bounces there. Other BBs are better in a campy meta, if you know how to aim. If you are at best average at aiming, the dispersion isn't really a downside, German shell output isn't bad and unlike ships with slow shells, high shell velocity is not just increasing dispersion, it also reduces reaction time and allows more snap shots. DE is not a necessary secondary skill. The only two skills that are mandatory are Manual Secondaries and AFT. IFHE allows penning BBs, but GK can pen cruisers even without. But none of that ever prevented people from just going for a tank build and having basically a derpy Montana that isn't as easily citadelled, but lacks accuracy. Whether you get killed or not by CV is not skill-dependent. At least not on the BB's skill. Thus, being susceptible to AP bombs makes the ship bad, it does not make it hard to play, because that would imply that there is some sort of way you can avoid dying to the CV. The only way to avoid dying to CV is to remove yourself so far from the battle your ship basically is an afterthought to any enemy CV trying to win the match. Even DDs can boast more means of "counterplay" (even if they are far less survivable when caught out by a good CV). Also, it's not easier to play Yamato, it is more effective. Which is why Yamato is still a decent BB and not a floating meme. So, no, I'm not contradicting myself. Just you having some misconceptions about quite a few things.

    There is no T9 BB aside from FdG that has as high a chance to even get out of a mistimed push. Others turn and eat citadel hits or just melt to HE because they don't have a ton of hp and 50-80 mm deck. Despite being far from a great German BB player, I actually have played them. In fact, I got more games in German high tier BBs than you even. The hard part of Germans is trying to actually carry games that aren't in a cyclone/thunderstorm front. But for the average potato that has no clue, there is no more forgiving class and by that virtue, the only battleships that are easier to farm at least some damage in before dying to stupid mistakes are the current iteration of British BBs, to be patched soon.

    Their strengths are a citadel protection that makes it almost impossible to get citadelled by enemy gunfire, thus if you mess up, you get far less punished than any other ship (combined with excessive hp pools at high tier). Their ships at all tiers are decently fast, so if you mess up positionng, you can correct it more easily. The guns are derpy, meaning good aim is less important, dispersion at times even compensates for terrible aim. Secondaries are ctrl+click mechanism for automated damage farming. Hydro at high tiers allows for pushing into torp heavy areas with less care and get away with it. Basically, most of their ships, especially at high tiers are way easier to play than others if you are a noob, but start to be pretty underwhelming as soon as you know how to play a BB and while some may still get the kicks out of it, fun does not equal performance.

    Montana also is far more resistant to air attack, while GK is 105k free damage to any semi-competent CV with AP bombs.

    Frankly, Montana. Second-oldest T10 BB in the game and still a solid pick for any T10 competitive mode that needs a BB. It also is a jack-of-all-trades BB that doesn't suck at anything in particular and is decent in most aspects. One you learned how to handle Montana, you can then go and decide what you want next based on that, given all others are a bit more specialised. As a bonus, US BB line is also a solid line to learn how to BB in general and a good line to start BBs with, given they are more forgiving than Japanese, but not on the level of noob-friendly braindead of German BBs where the skill floor is low, but skill ceiling isn't high either and high tiers are pretty out of meta.

    Range Mod and AFT exist for Smolensk. They don't for Kutuzov. While I doubt many people will go for both, even just AFT is a huge boost to range.

    I mean, it won't get much worse than GZ, which got nerfed to absolute garbage, both by a global nerf to plane speeds and by "buffing" its drop pattern. A drop pattern that also makes it one of the least capable CVs in dealing with the AA changes, as I cannot imagine a CV worse for slingshot dropping. Even the British bombers likely get more immunity from their slow motion drops than GZ gets from its super speed bombs and they get mitigation while flying in, while GZ needs to get above a target to dive down. So, maybe WG should just "buff" other overperforming premiums. After all, we only don't "nerf" premiums here...

    You know what's funny? Slingshot drop or other damage mitigation techniques will be the go to approch to attacking anything with an inkling of AA. Guess which CV utterly sucks at mitigating damage with its bomb drop pattern.

    Grinding US BBs

    Cruisers are the sole class that doesn't get ALL the tools of high tiers. Which doesn't even matter in a debate on BBs. But even so, a T5 cruiser vs T7s will face cruisers that can overmatch it with AP. Take T6 or T7 cruisers and tell me that they are better vs T8 or T9 than a T8 is vs T10. The only cruiser that is absolute trash in this situation is the Hipper, but for example some Baltimore, Chapayev or Cleveland have far more means to matter when uptiered than their lower tier counterparts. Just from yesterday. You can guess how that ended, given JB with reload booster beats my reload, overmatches everywhere and the AA of T7 cruisers most often is an absolute joke. And for any class other than cruisers, T8 vs T10 is easy compared to T6 or T7 vs T8/T9, given overmatch tresholds and concealment mod (latter which also makes cruiser play much easier).
  25. British sAP still is superior because it gets improved ricochet angles, which this doesn't get. And spamming 152 mm AP without the improved ricochet angles at angled targets is most of the time waste of ammo and time, unless it's an Omaha or something of that sort. That's like saying USN AP does not exist, because everyone gets AP or German HE does not exist, because everyone gets HE. On Italians, if the premiums are anything to go by, it would make some sense, though without improved ricochet angles it might suck massively. The greatest advantage is that most of them have silly high shell velocities and Roma for example overpens a lot, while HE is absolute trash in fire chance anyway. For BBs, it might kind of work, given overmatch exists most of the time and you can still full pen superstructure. On cruisers... yeah, lolno. As third option maybe, but sAP replacing regular AP means it's straight up trash at citadelling anything and as HE replacement, it absolutely gimps your ability to deal with anything that knows how to angle. Even on the British it can be a pain and those get improved ricochet angles and high dpm. Something like Zara, a prime candidate for Italian cruiser tech tree CA would basically become straight up worse Hipper.
