US BB don't get the first aiming systems mod, so what?

Why has the flag on the Błyskawica changed?
HaachamaShipping replied to Shimakaze_Yukari's topic in Newcomers' Section
It's what could have been expected given Commonwealth, Pan-Asia and Pan-America exist to group smaller nations into larger groups. It's not a political statement, it's a practical solution to the issue that smaller countries either do not have enough ships to fill any line or they are basically just premiums. Pan-Asian DDs would've been absolutely impossible as a free to grind lind if the PA category had not existed. Also, as a quality of life change, it allows transferring captains around, so a Blysca captain could theoretically, be put on any other Pan-Euro ship when it comes out and there's already the announced Friesland. But if you want to see some Eurocrat conspiracy theory behind it all, well, I doubt the forums can help you there... -
I guess someone at WG finally found out what 80° angle actually meant, given the hull shapes of typical ships.

Musashi with frustrating dispersion
HaachamaShipping replied to anonym_SzkioGezxc4G's topic in General Discussion
9 guns with crap dispersion and long reload is not even on par with T6 cruisers in firepower. You sure can secondary farm ships with no armour, did that myself once with a Belfast (and a half-secondary specced captain for the Yamato) that was too close, farming Belfast on the right and murdering Nelson in the front. But at that point, any other T9 BB could have done the same job better, Izumo could have done the job better if the enemy was beyond the 7.5 km range most are restricted to, Alsace, JB, Georgia and FdG are absolutely heads and shoulders above Musashi in secondaries, especially FdG. -
Musashi with frustrating dispersion
HaachamaShipping replied to anonym_SzkioGezxc4G's topic in General Discussion
Musashi has one 155 mm gun turret more per side (other one won't shoot the same target), but far fewer 127 mm guns and reload on the 155s and 127s is worse. Overall, yamato throws out far more shells. Yamato in the grand scheme of things is only outclassed in secondaries at T10 by GK in potency and Repu and bourgogne in range, but Musashi basically has only range and nothing els over half its t9 competition. base secondary-wise, Musashi is the worst secondary platform at T9. Iowa likely gets more out of a full sec spec than the Musashi does, as you need to get closer, but at least it does something at that range. -
Musashi with frustrating dispersion
HaachamaShipping replied to anonym_SzkioGezxc4G's topic in General Discussion
Yamato has the accuracy with 2.1 sigma. Musashi gets 1.8, like any normal BB. One of the four things in which it is worse than Yamato (the other three being secondaries, AA and turret traverse). -
Plane kills is a matter of CV incompetence, not ship AA, as long as ships have at least some AA. Case in point, my highest amount of plane kills on T7 is no longer Hiryuu, it's now Nagato. and every CV player worth a damn will tell you that Nagato might have good close-range AA, but apart from that, it's absolute garbage. The game where I got my plane kills I also died, because the short range kicks in after the drop most of the time. Overall, Gneisenau AA is okish, but till next patch when overlap returns, it's certainly not great and the ship certainly is not untouchable for planes. No ship really is. Just currently, most CVs are terrible.

It's not an Akizuki issue, otherwise Kiev compositions wouldn't exist and against 6 out of 7 ships in the comp 32 mm pen isn't required. Even if Akizuki wouldn't exist, IFHE Kidds or something would take its place, due to heal, no cit and ability to pen every cruiser, while 40 mm plating BB isn't going to care about 32 mm pen either.

Powercreep of older ships (for example German BB "Scharnhorst") and possible ways to remedy it...
HaachamaShipping replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, because no way half the ship is its giant 32 mm plating nose and the rear, right? Absolutely impervous. Who could ever hit that from a distance? Bismarck and NC must be the most broken ships ever... At the very least the long nose prevents overmatching shots to pen into the citadel. As to Sinop, it has 25 mm deck everywhere. Shouldn't be too hard to hit and damage with HE. -
'All that’s required is to reset researchable branches of ships and progress through them anew.'
HaachamaShipping replied to The_Finnster's topic in General Discussion
The responses here are quite interesting. I'm certainly no less fed up with WG than many others (though in my case due to subs announcement), but in regards to NTC, I think I need to at least be fair and state that the current concept is workable and certainly nothing people should condemn as much as they currently do. Especially not considering what other things are currently in the game. Concerning seasons: You can regrind as many lines in a season as you want. The first line every season you reset gets the double bonus and you can even take your time with regrinding, as it doesn't go away with season reset. If anything, this mechanic allows slow grinders to get more out of the system, because someone who wants Colbert in one season has to reset 4 lines (10k free, 20k first line, 30k from three more lines for 60k overall, 57k is needed), while someone who can wait two seasons will only have to grind three lines and whoever waits for three seasons can get three lines and 13k extra research points towards whatever, like Ohio. Concerning people who got their first T10 and don't want to throw it away again: Well, no, the research bureau comes online after getting your 5th T10. You basically cannot throw out your first T10 just after acquiring it. Concerning people who don't want to regrind: Well, then don't? ffs, who is forcing you to? The rewards that are available are Colbert and Ohio, so far. Both currently strong ships, but still WIP. Neither is a must have. Unlike the performance bonuses from before, which were outrageous and forced people to regrind to stay competitive, you don't need to play Colbert to stay competitive. Heck, even if Colbert is strong, it's likely not the new meta. Not that the reward issue has to be tied to NTC/RB. I don't see people taking out pitchforks to murder WG over the need to play multiple seasons of CB/Ranked just to get Stalingrad and other steel ships. And the kinds of Flint, Black and Stalingrad are no jokes either, especially the former two. But if people just don't feel like doing it, then don't. And let's keep in mind, yes, this will be the only way to get these ships so far, but same can be said about any steel ships. And goodness they consider the monetization, how dare they. I guess them potentially making money off whales who convert exp is now a great issue and despicable. For one, unless regular prems, these ships at least can be obtained for free, not just for money like regular premiums (except through SC lottery) and unlike stuff like lootboxes, people at least know what they are in for when converting exp. So, I'm not going to say WG isn't ruining their own game, but this isn't it and the reaction to the new research bureau seems a bit overblown. -
What ship tree would you love to do all over again?
HaachamaShipping replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
German cruisers. The line isn't great, but also not terrible enough that I'd need massive amounts of free exp. And I doubt I'll need them for competitive anytime soon. -
KGV has 10 guns at 1.8 and has a 25s reload and HE that helps compensate for poor caliber.
-
Why is one extra turret a reason to increase reload and reduce accuracy when going up a tier? Hindenburg also doesn't get worse guns than Roon now, does it? Good thing Stalingrad didn't get an added gun turret over Kronshtadt then...
-
Aww yeah, I always thought I'd gladly take my Colorado, make it half a knot smaller, a bit less hp (or massively less if it gets standard heal amount like all USN BB prems) and exchange the 2.0 sigma overmatch guns for more 1.7 sigma derp guns that have can't even reliably deal with a Furutaka. At least you get NMs good concealment and the 30s reload, but goodness... I don't mind playing Colorado as much as the average WoWS player hates that ship, but I would never ever play it if it didn't have at least its good guns.

HaachamaShipping replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Then "What can a T5 do against a Sinop" is not the right question to begin with. You can argue about Russian BBs being OP or Sinop being OP, but the case of "T5s just get wrecked"... well, that was already the case prior to Sinop. -
Powercreep of older ships (for example German BB "Scharnhorst") and possible ways to remedy it...
HaachamaShipping replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
1v1, T5 BBs hardly will lay serious hurt on a T7. The only two ways they can do so are shooting the broadside and/or being able to HE spam the T7 without retribution in battles with multiple participants. In both scenarios, the Sinop is not any better off than a Nagato would be, because the citadel on Russian BBs is massive and the deck might be thick, but BB HE will pen. It's certainly not better off than a Gneisenau is, defensively, given that thing just cannot be citpenned by T5s. -

What is a T5 BB going to do against a competent Gneisenau? -
Look at CV rework and you got the answer. You don't. In the end, it matters not whether there is counterplay, just that the damage numbers on the spreadsheet stay within certain bounds. If subs are just so slow they murder two ships and no more anyway, so their damage is within acceptable limits, then all's fine to WG.
-
Yoshino's AA is not zero. It's decent. The ship's reaction to AP bombs is not. But you aren't going to have much better luck in a Hindenburg, Zao, Henri or Moskva. Overall, don't bother with AA skill. Yoshino's base AA is high enough that stupid people will lose their planes reliably without investment and those who can devastate you will do so anyway.
-
This implies the current issues can actually be solved by tuning a few knobs, which isn't even proven and can very much be questioned.
-
Unless it stays in a seperate mode indefinitely, the moment these things get into randoms, I'm out of here. CV rework still has severe issues and introducing a new class and trusting you to balance that properly is a bit much to ask after CV fiasco. And please don't tell me CVs are fine, because it achieved the objectives you seemingly set for yourselves, according to spreadsheet. Because I don't care what silly reinterpretation of data and goal post moving you folks want to do, in the end, the CV rework is still a broken mess that is for us players to experience and for us to decide whether we want to continue enduring it or not. Throw subs into the mix and it is clear, this'll just be some absolute clownfiesta of a balance and I have no interest in any of that.

A way to introduce Shinano in the game
HaachamaShipping replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
That and their potential loss was more acceptable, so they could be risked in actions that weren't the decisive showdown the IJN envisioned they needed the Yamato for. -
If the "We are sorry for the inconvenience" thing wasn't a big enough hint, it's an issue WG had where clan and chat broke down a couple days ago and prevented people from accessing it. And no, you can't fix it, only WG can.

Steel ship - are you content with your decision?
HaachamaShipping replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
It is just inherently flawed.
