Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
HaachamaShipping replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Met @Yoshanai in Midway, supported by @Sunleader in their Hindenburg. Was in Roma, so I kind of expected to lose, but enemy team managed to throw. -
A division of Musashis are 4 ships? Last I heard, Musashis are 3 ships. But sure, I gladly suicide one shortened wing into that if it wastes 3 goddamn fighters. And still get a hit, because unless your planes have no speed at all, you usually can drop before the fighter wrecks the planes.
-
Depends what plane you use. Dive bombers can get cits or fires too.
-
Pre-drop two of your three attack waves, hit the outermost Musashi with the third wave. Maybe those 2-4 bombers die, but the ordnance will arrive. GZ also can get multiple drops off, by virtue of outrunning fighters even when you aggro'd them.
-
Because it is deceptively non-squishy. At proper angle, the internal belt works well at bouncing shots and the lower section of the belt is mostly spaced armour. An angled Yoshino you need to hit on the front or aft bulkhead of the cit or you won't get much. Obviously, against a Kronshtadt, Yoshino can just angle fully and not care.

Have new T9 super cruisers put the old ones out to pasture?
HaachamaShipping replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
If you think accuracy doesn't matter, I think that is not an issue with Roon but with the player. When Kronshtadt with it's BB level accuracy throws half its HE salvo into the water while a Roon can hit most return shots on the large ship that is the Kronshtadt, then accuracy absolutely matters. -

HaachamaShipping replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
Only Azuma has better HE dpm among the supercruisers than the Roon. And Roon has better accuracy than all of them. -
That's absolutely pointless concept though, because the entire point of dpm is to measure sustained damage and the minute is just used because it's a unit of time. And you can thus easily calculate the damage output for 2 minutes, 3 minutes, half a minute, etc. Trying to say "realistically I cannot shoot that last half a salvo" is nonsensical, because it assumes that ingame you find yourself commonly in situations were you can fire for exactly one minute, which just is not the case.
-
What is the reason for the difference in "theoretical" and "practical" dpm?

SAP and saturated BBs

Which against bow-on ships does about as much as the SAP. -

You still have those 3 torps per side on Venezia that do about as much damage as a bowl of wet spaghetti. -
Yeah, but there also are cases like Guepard vs Aigle, where I'd say both are solid ships.
-
Because making sidegrades is hard. Furutaka has 15s on upgraded guns. With 6 guns vs 8, overall same dpm, but with better torps, IJN HE, IJN CA accuracy and a hydro.
-
The specialty in T5 with 203s is overmatching other cruisers. Genova's dpm there is kind of in line. But it gets no hydro, no HE and the torps are absolute trash. Concealment is good, but its entire raison d'être seems to be to screw over the likes of Königsberg, Omaha and Kirov.

wtf is the point of this ship?
-
Remember the times when fires put your CV out of action? Before damecon got automated...
-
Because it is one of the core principles of CV to be above the problems of the common masses. Just like CV cares not about fires and is the most well-protected class after BBs.
-
You need to get a critical hit on a magazine. One reason why you cannot, for example detonate a CV, as they have no magazines (due to lack of main battery, CV citadel is only machinery spaces). Also, it suffices to hit the magazine with splash damage to cause a detonation, just like splash damage can knock out random modules.
-
Issue with that is, while other CVs with RNG like GZ need RNG to make their drop even remotely worth it and even on best outcome achieve comparatively modest results, Enty with good RNG devstrikes ships.
-
Eh. If you really like high tier CV gameplay, then ok. These things are expensive though. Might be good if you can get results out of CVs to grind credits, but just for performance, silver line CVs are fine and I personally prefer playing my Implacable with its free permacamo. Only T8 premium CV I'd currently buy is the Kaga, as enterprise isn't around anymore, Saipan is hard and GZ is not very good.

According to my own stats, Colorado is the best T7 BB. So, unless you want to accept that fact, stop trying to make arguments based on my stats. Thanks.

Clan Battles season 7 discussion/predictions
HaachamaShipping replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
1k less AP damage on the shell upon hitting a citadel. Some nerfs to its HE that I don't see anyone using. Will remain a common pick for sure. -

It's Halloween soon. -
Sigma values would confuse players, but giving adjusted AA dps values and not a dps and accuracy value is somehow not confusing? Or arbitrary ratings of performance categories? Or what about the sometimes just false turning circle radii?

Killer Whale is good. Raptor Rescue is ok, Naval Station Newport I'm not sure, Aegis I'd rather not.
