    It is 50% for normal BBs, 60% for most RN BBs, 75% for KGV, DoY, Monarch, Lion and Conqueror. And I think 40% for VU, at least that was its last test version.

    Yeah. When two T8 BBs both go bow-in, neither can overmatch the other, so it comes down to who can still damage the other best, either by getting damage on stuff like superstructure, secondary damage or outmaneuvering. Or by simply loading HE. And Monarch has still the best HE dpm at T8. Normal BB build is viable: PT, EM, SI, CE. AR, BoS, FP, in that order. I do however now use a Dunkirk captain that also is used on Thunderer, where I don't have FP and instead went for JoAT and either go HA or PM and EL. The reason I consider FP such an unimportant skill here is that you do not want to be permafarmed by HE anyway, at that point you already lost. But Dunkirk's JoAT and HA together with the -5% consumable CD signal mean CD for heal is just over 50s and for damecon it's just over 60s, which are exceptionally good values for a BB. Combined with the ability to repair 75% of pen damage (60% on Thunderer), this gives quite the survivability.

    It isn't WG's fault if people cannot just bully your mistiered ship with ease, because it just is hot garbage compared to everything else at tier V. It's saving grace is that most players in the game, especially at these tiers aren't incredibly good at it, so you can still do something, but carry the proper weight of its tier it cannot. And worse than CV attack, which craps on any BB at T5, the VU absolutely sucks when pitted against T7s, with ships like Gneisenau being able to devstrike it with one torp salvo, because it has no hp. No other BB at T5 is this fragile.

    They are the Spee guns, as the Harekaze later gets those, but that is not within the anime season that is replicated in the HSF Harekaze ingame.

    Monarch has better regenerative qualities, negating the hp disadvantage, if not even beating Vanguard, unless you eat all the cits or only fire damage. Aside from that, yes, Vanguard is more accurate, Monarch gets one more gun. Vanguard is better in the rudder, Monarch has better concealment. Monarch also gets a spotter plane and short fuse means less overpens. Normal AP pen damage only happens if you are not angled enough or get penned in the superstructure. And Monarch can repair more of that than Vanguard. Good concealment in a ship in general means you have to position it where it matters. If you get permaspotted by a DD, then you failed at that. That's like saying Zao concealment doesn't matter and it could as well be as visible as a Moskva, because what if a DD keeps it spotted? Well, then try to get into positions where DDs don't just spot you nilly-willy. Haven't heard those kind of complaints in a long while. Monarch gets a spotter plane. Edinburgh has only 3 torps per side. You can guess how much easier it is for a Monarch to delete an Edinburgh in smoke? Btw, Vanguard gets no spotter plane. Good concealment does not mean pushing. Zao and Minotaur are the cruisers at T10 with the best concealment. Both are absolutely garbage at pushing. Concealment gets usually played at mid-range, where you are close enough to matter, but far enough away to vanish when needed. It is easier for a Colorado to delete a Nelson than to delete a KGV. Nelson eats cits so easily, it's likely the most easily citted BB at T7. And you can't heal that back. Additionally, The difference between Warspite and QE is mostly that QE has worse turret traverse, short-fuze AP and a better AA. Arguing Warspite is so much different is just silly, as QE basically can do mostly the same. The Vanguard similarly is not drastically different from the Monarch. And the usually cited alternate progression takes Hood at T7, not Nelson. If HE alpha would matter, Amagi and Kii are about as good as Monarch in HE dpm. It's because people think it's British BB, so they load HE and never look up gun performance to realise that maybe, AP is actually viable. The AP on Monarch has a bit less pen than Bismarck, but more than Vanguard. Short fuse does not matter, because what are you trying to citpen: Bismarck/Tirpitz? Cit immunity anyway. USN BBs? Russian BBs? Brit BBs? Cit is right after the armour belt, shorter fuze makes no difference. Amagi? At typical combat ranges wouldn't matter, because turtleback. French? Slight turtleback that gets penned at closer ranges still. but basically sole ships where it might actually make a difference. The main reason why you wouldn't play Monarch in CB is that when the meta is DDs that spam HE with 32 mm pen, Monarch is obviously the most garbage ship aside from Vanguard and the French. In Ranked, Monarch would be a viable pick, but few people even played it after changes and frankly, Monarch for Ranked would likely be my go to BB, because dpm is best, you can deal easily with the bow-in campers, better than any other BB, you have better concealment than any of them and the AA is okish. And the main reason I did not rank out in Monarch is because I did in Implacable, because no, no-fly-zones don't exist. Tell that to the two NCs that died trying to rush down my flank and gave me a Witherer in the process.

    Don't expect the guns to be reliable, keep an eye out for what's happening and learn how to use the armour of your ship effectively. If you go into fights where you know what awaits you and that you can take that risk, with a plan that goes beyond "I'll blap it with the main battery guns" and with a proper exit strategy, much can be done. The guns aren't many and not very accurate, but they still have a punch when they land and in a brawl, you can outtrade most enemies just because you can tank and close up you have torps and secondaries. Also, against ships with torps, don't forget, Gneisenau can not just push, you can also kite. secondaries and torps don't just fire forward and enemies don't have to be within 6 km to eat torps they steam into. You'd be surprised how many people never see those torps coming because they think at 7-8 km, they are out of torp range. Just keep in mind, your stern can be overmatched more easily.

    Pros: Clan mates People I see on the boards and such trying to actually get good at the game Cons: Clan mates People I see on the boards and such things that seem absolutely broken my favourite ships getting turned into horrifying premiums And yes, I do enjoy CVs, but I'm not going to pretent that the current system is a proper way to implement them and frankly, even though pre-rework was harder for me, I'd be all for a solution to this rework (that will never come).
  8. The Musashi one is better than T9 prem camo. The Yamato one only lacks a +20% credit modifier, but still has the -50% one. For a free permacamo, that is still good.

    Licensing agreement says no. Harekaze is a design based upon the fictional Harekaze from HSF, not a real ship. And given you can give it a normal IJN captain and the normal IJN prem camo that comes with the ship, all that bothers you really is the initials HSF in front of the name. Really?

    Effectiveness of a lot of weaponry in this game is vastly different from effectiveness IRL. In the end though, the rockets often do damage appropriate to their explosives compared to stuff like DD shells and the main issue always is not how much damage rockets do, but how little counterplay exists to planes (in general. Bombs can be so much more brutal than rockets).

    No, they are not. They are still very much capable of murdering T8 ships. Maybe not as easily as they murder T5 ships, but that's a given. Sure, give the Hosho a friggin heal, because it might see T5 ships against which it struggles oh so much?

    Which is why Soviet BBs with bigger guns and high shell speed and worse dispersion at range cannot hit things or just overpen? Oh wait, they don't. And neither do Germans. Heck, the Bismarck still has less pen than most other T8s and less shell speed than a good few too.

    What the hell did you use for this kinda weird formatting? Anyway, FFARs and HVARs were used against ships and sunk subs (which is what some of these rockets were originally designed for). Ingame, the main reason DDs get absolutely decimated is because the smaller rockets do damage like a DD shell and the amount of rockets in one attack mean that the hp pool gets depleted fast. It can be debated whether IRL that could be reproduced, but in general, it isn't completely out of whack that an attack wrecks lightly armoured targets. What is out of whack is the ease with which CVs can attack ships. Also, IRL, most DDs sunk by air attack died to dive bombers and while harder to use, HE DBs certainly can absolutely decimate DDs. Haven't seen it as much these days, maybe due to accuracy nerf, but in the early days of rework, it wasn't uncommon to see Midways oneshot DDs.

    In all my games over the last few days, the only somewhat competent CV I encountered was El2aZeR (or however it is written) in Midway yesterday and that was on my team. Should I now feel like the incidence of actually OP CVs is fine, so CVs are fine? Just because it happens rarely does not mean it is not an issue, especially when it screws over one class way more than others (oh hey there, CVs vs DDs). Frankly, detonations are a mechanic that never made much sense to be there and never served much purpose. It occurred infrequently, but it still is just bad game design and should be removed altogether.

    You cannot even delete a T3 BB with a broadside of your torps, unless the BB already is damaged. Something like an Amagi can take both sides and still be just under half its hp pool. And it's a joke to say this is the reason, because apart from some cruisers that can torp rush in the open and not die (top tier Krasny Krim and Furutaka, Hipper/Prinz Eugen against half the BBs they can face, low tier RN cruisers...), with proper concealment build, you can cover the distance to get into the enemy's face with a Trento before the smoke runs out. Just afterwards you are dead. Perth and Huanghe with less speed, but better torps (and torp reload booster on Huanghe) and less distance to cover are far superior options for this kinda silly play. Not to mention, if you have noone spotting, they at least have hydro. Once the Italian fighter plane dies, they are basically charging blind.

    Everything is different from RN line. The closest you'd get to RN line would be USN CLs if you use radar on RN CLs, because then you basically do the same island abuse to survive, while trying to matter with consumables. USN CAs have a bit different guns, with lower dpm, but better punch. Overall, it's best to try i out, but hey, you'll be used to the lack of effective armour and sudden disintegration.

    Please revert auto pilot changes

    I dunno what paths people enter into their autopilot, the worst I had so far was my ship scraping by an island for a bit, but even then it usually does not do that. But I do consider a basic amount of scepticism towards the autopilot as necessary, checking the minimap every so often to see where the hell you are going and also what might threaten your hull at some point.
  24. Musashi camo is basically for weeb bragging rights and nothing else. Yes, the modifier on commander exp makes it slightly better. But let's be honest, if you wanted to grind commander exp, equip a camo for tht. If you want to grind credits, you use the merituous service camo.

    Oh boy, the BF sales this year look so crap, Harekaze is worth it over that any day. Depends, but let's go over it: Harekaze is solid. Unless you dislike DD play, good ship. Graf Spee is a copy of regular Graf Spee, but the ship is decent enough for a T6 cruiser. Camouflages for Harekaze and Graf Spee are of little to no importance. The cat camo changes the free exp modifier to a captain exp one. Camouflage for Musashi is obviously only worth it if you have a Musashi. Captains are all nice voiceovers for a weeb. shittons of camos and flags are just there for grinding. Assuming you actually have a Musashi, if you wanted all the weeb content, this is like buying it all seperately and getting the camos/signals for free ontop. If you don't have the Musashi and thus no reason to use the camo, you basically are paying for the camos and signals and getting a useless camo ontop.
