Is there a ship that can push and actually tank HE?

If it's just a Smolensk, Kremlin and Legendary Hindenburg should work fine.

    CV Rework Discussion

Sorry, but even without being some next level CV unicum, I very much do perform better in Ark Royal than you, so there has to be something that is being done right and which actually works. Whether you take guesses as to what that might be or put me on ignore is your decision, but it'd still be nice if you wouldn't go around telling people that the planes have trouble hitting when others certainly have no such issues. It's insincere towards third parties reading this and thinking that they don't have to mind as much when the Swordfish arrive because there might be actual "counterplay".

I'd actually imagine that more likely additions would be Buffalo, Z-52, Kleber, Hakuryu, the new British T8 or T9 CA and Siegfried. Main reason for that is to me the tendency to go for basically the earliest non-existent design while avoiding powercreeping same class same nation ships and there only being two exceptions to this: Izumo and Saint-Louis. Where I think Izumo was chosen over Amagi due to the year of design (and Amagi appeared later anyway as non-PR ship), while Saint-Louis might just be there because they preferred the T9 to be in line with the others. But it's why for example Monarch as T8 was chosen and would mean they will likely try to avoid introducing T10s for the same line for a while, a sensible policy.

AL actually is a bit stronger, imo, because AL will keep going. GuP releases material every now and then, but basically is to WoT what Haifuri is here. Also, AL collab is likely going to stay strong, just because it is opportune for both sides to continue. WoWS can cash in on weeb bucks, AL gets content that many of its players recognise and appreciate. Whether profits from WoWS sales partly go to AL, I do not know, but even if not, there is little reason to not continue. Unless something extraordinarily bad happens or one side just messes up, this collab could continue to the very end of the game, because of how the benefits outweigh the costs. ARP meanwhile makes no cash and there's nothing to advertise...

High School Fleet back in the Shop

No. That's a different deal and you could as well be asking "because there is a AL collab, will there be a KC collab?" Chances are no and nothing points in that direction.

That's a load of BS. Furious planes go 24 knots faster, which translates not in 1.5 times the time for AR. On the rocket planes the speed difference even is just 4 knots. And sure, he can turn and run or do whatever, but short of smoking up (which he can always do), it's not like there's a way to not get caught by the planes, even if they run. And given the amount of sensible counters there exist, doesn't matter when they get caught. Heck, worse still is that unless you catch them bow-on, pretty much all plane types on AR can attack without overshooting and head-on, at the very least the bombs can. Furious does not have such bombs and everyone else does not have this ability to react. If you drop 3 torps, you still make it harder to dodge them. It is easier to line up a drop where at least two hit with 3 torps than with just two. And no, AR is the better DD hunter, given torps are not a prime anti-DD weapon, bombs are. At least on AR. Furious bombs have a hard time competing in that role. Also, three torps obviously is better for combing smokes. Did it a few times, it is not too hard. And sure you can make it up. You just hit them with enough waves. A Swordfish attack is not exactly easier to dodge than a Barracuda attack when properly executed and if you do a crossdrop, the follow up drop for assured hits on AR carries three torps as well, not just two. Apart from how comically short the arming distance is where they need to be almost beached on that island, T8 French BBs (the lower tiers don't get any boost) are so large, if you cannot hit 3 on a ship that is stationary that is not really a Swordfish issue. Because if they only react once you dropped, they won't dodge. If they react before, just adjust. The Swordfish is great at that. If a ship maneuvers to the point it dodges one torp, you still connect two, where others connect 1. That makes the alpha discrepancy worse than the 3 to 2 ratio of dropped torps would suggest. And if they don't maneuver to that point, then you need to learn to aim better to not throw the third torp away needlessly. Furious and Ark Royal have 3 attack flights per squadron. RJ and Ranger have 4 attack flights per squadron. I have no clue what you do with the other 2-3 flights or where they go. But usually, as long as you have two flights, you should be able to crossdrop. I've decided to play Ranger lately to get to Lexington and certainly, I have done it there too. Both CVs use the exact same torpedo, except the Furious one on top planes has 47 m longer aiming time (which extents a bit with TA factored in for both). Thus, unless you use stock planes, Ark Royal actually gives you less reaction time once it drops. And if they shift their rudder before you drop... adjust! You are way more flexible than that rudder. That's a player issue, not a ship issue. So, can you stop trying to talk about counterplay to AR, which just does not exist? It really just does not. The AR is pretty much just "balanced" in that its planes are slow, so you have to see where you wreck others. But when it comes to attacking ships, this ship isn't magically "fairer" or anything. It's basically similar 0 counterplay BS as pretty much any other CV, it still has little trouble devastating the few ships it has destined should die and stuff like the carpet bomber are really just the epitome of the "Just Dodge" meme, because good luck ever dodging that when the AR player doesn't miscalculate. AR's balance basically exists like all CV balance, it just cannot reliably go higher in its damage average, because the time runs out, but in that time, well god have mercy on the poor sods you get your damage from, because the Swordfish have none.

    Disadvantage Enterprise

If you get shot at by a cruiser, funnily enough, Enterprise isn't that much worse off, as while the Implacable has a better deck, Enterprise for whatever silly reason has 38 mm hangar sides and enough shots hit there...

every captain has a specialization, which is the ship for which they are trained. Like, if my captain is specialised for Yamato, they function on yamato. if I put them on amagi, they need retraining. Moeka is specialised for Musashi. She will work on that ship and on any premium without penalty, but needs retraining to be used on any other ship. Given Musashi is a premium that needs no specialization on commanders for it anyway, the whole thing is pointless. In practice, whatever ship you put Moeka on, if its not premium, it needs retraining, but any normal captain you get rewarded is usually specialised for the T1 ship, so that'd usually be the case anyway. It's more because in the series she helms the Musashi, so that's there for the theme.

    New black camo ships.

Too bad you need to buy a whole ship to get it. Not since 0.8.0. Sims AA is a joke and if you expect CVs to not murder you more than some other DD, you will be disappointed. As for the rest, it is maneuverable, yes. The guns are better on Mahan though, as are the torps. Sims concealment with 6.6 km is kinda poor, speed is good. You basically speed around on the battlefield with mediocre armament and bad concealment.

    CV Rework Discussion

Can I laugh? T8 Graf Zeppelin Me-155s already have a 590 m turning circle on normal speed and that is equivalent to a Shiratsuyu. The Swordfish is even slower and nimbler. Even some Icarus with 540 m turning circle is not going to turn tighter. And sure, halt your friggin DD. Make the perfect target. Sorry, but no. If you get outmaneuvered by a ship with some of the most agile planes in the game, that is on you, not the Swordfish. The Swordfish is slow, but the amount of agility for adjustments it has is simply stupid. Just creates a bigger carpet then, making it harder to adjust, because a DD can choose which two torps it eats, instead of potentially dodging one and eating one. After another such drop, it's dead anyway. Any cruiser that can maneuver this much, you can cross-drop. And they wouldn't eat more torps from any other CV, so what is the point? Because a Furious drops the torps about as far away, with same speed. A Ryuujou drops it further away, with more speed. Reaction time overall is not too different, nor the amount of maneuvering you can do to dodge that. And no, they can't, if you line it up properly. You only meet two of them anyway and both aren't exactly nimble, compared to your bombers. More speed does not change that. That is not even the point of debate. The point is whether a properly executed drop can be dodged. Dodging one out of three and eating two still is on par with most other CVs, especially with ones where you can dodge one out of two. Cross-drops obviously create misses per default, but would be something you use on other CVs as well against ships that maneuver hard. Lastly, it's not like I make no mistakes ever, but I actually recognise it as my mistakes, not as a shortcoming of the planes (which at times are so stupidly agile as to allow me to correct mistakes that should absolutely not be possible to correct). 9 km with CE. And you don't need to get ALL torps in. Pretty much no CV will always get all their ordnance in. But you need to hit often enough to make it count and that you can do very much.

    CV Rework Discussion

CVs overall are more difficult. Yet a good CV can murder things with absolute ease. If you just stop making the most grave mistakes, you already start wrecking people with ease and if you actually get good, you can go enjoy your deep purple super unicum stats. And if one attack vector has too much AA for your liking, take a different one. It's not like there is just one. Even worst case, you just take the bombers, slingshot in and carpet drop to set fires and deplete the AA. CVs are not necessarily the easiest class, but that does not justify that you can just easily kill whatever you have to kill and carry games regardless of the enemy player skill or actions. And it gets just worse when you have CVs that are more forgiving or have even more devastating armaments (though, let's not pretent that Ark Royal's weaponry is not devastating, because for its tier, when the planes arrive, the offensive power can be pretty bonkers). In every other class, enemy skill can at least somewhat negate mine. In CVs, if the CV player is just somewhat capable, the only thing a target can do is choose between different terrible options, none which win the game, all which are way out of proportion to what CV players have to invest to force that play.
  13. HaachamaShipping

    Ridiculous ...

With full hp SE Fletcher, only BBs that I'd trust to pull it off somewhat reliably are the Conqueror and Thunderer. And even then... I once nuked a Z-52 from full to just almost dead with 8 Thunderer HE shells, but it survived and killed me with torps. Even with all those shells, you need enough shells to connect and them to have sufficient alpha. With anything but those two I'd consider it too much of a gamble to ever take. And even with those two, I'd consider it a stupid risk to take, if you don't have to.

    CV Rework Discussion

Planes are faster than a ship and more maneuverable than a ship. The torps can be dropped from pretty much point-blank on both CVs and have the same speed. If your torps miss more often, then it is because the approach is bad, which just means more effort has to be put into how to approach a target. On proper approach, it's not like you are going to dodge either of the two CVs' drops. Ark Royal is harder to play than Furious because of the bad plane speed requiring proper planning in whom and how to approach to get your impact. Properly executed, it's a splendid ship though.

    Monarch is utter trash!

Main issue is, Monarch (and all RN BBs of T7+ except Hood) get absolutely demolished by Yamato/Musashi, because overmatch. To KGV and DoY, most BB are almost like that (at least no overmatching the cit deck, but certainly cits through bow/stern.

3-5-7 from wot is coming to wows

Because there is so little on the context, the only thing that is given is 3 Mogamis, 1 Conqueror. Torps are nice, but not guaranteed to kill the Conqueror while at some point you run out of map space to torp kite it. We could assume stuff like domination victory conditions, islands, etc. But that would raise the question as to where the other factors of a random battle are, like the 20 other players. In random battle conditions, if a Conqueror appears at your flank and you are in a 3 Mogami div, basically the Conqueror still holds a good few advantages and assuming skilled players has a greater chance wiping your div out than the Mogamis have of killing the Conqueror. Lastly, the Conqueror has a way easier time staying around and still doing its job at exerting presence, given its range and even if it takes damage, it would be tying up 3 Mogamis that farm the most meaningless damage in the game. So in far too many possible situations the Conqueror is just more useful than the three Mogamis, especially as it takes up one place on the team, the Mogamis take up three.

    CV Rework Discussion

Most balanced? British CV. Actually balanced? None. Every CV can just crap on your ship, British are just the ones that take the longest. Given only T6 CVs and T8 CVs can get into +2, let's look at these cases. Provided a player that actually knows what the hell they are doing, T6 vs T8 will encounter actual AA that will kill a good few planes, if we consider BBs. Cruisers are no scarier than the BBs and DDs are still a joke. T8 DDs basically aren't more scary to attack than a T6 BB in AA power except maybe the Kidd, which manages to be like T7 BB. Typically, T6 CV in T8 match will not be as free to kill everything, but they still can very much crap on DDs and cruisers and with BBs just have to actually think about what they attack. When they do, they absolutely ruin their day though. On the flipside, when top tier, T6 CVs have an absolute field day roflstomping T5s and T6s, because apart from very few BBs, the rest of the ships are a joke AA wise and you can basically just murder everything in your way. T8 vs T10... It should suffice to say that the AA increase from T8 to T10 is not very much and it isn't incredibly much harder to kill a Montana than it is to kill an NC, except for the larger amount of hp you have to go through. But T8 CVs that can deal perfectly fine with T8s have no trouble dealing with T10s and even people who are just remotely competent at the basics of flak dodging can do numbers on T10 ships, especially when given tools like AP bombs. Obviously T8 CV vs T6 ships is an absolute curbstomp. Meanwhile, a terrible CV will fail even against -2, as long as that ship has just any form of idiot filter flak buffs.

3-5-7 from wot is coming to wows

Wouldn't it work as well by just setting a minimum number of lower tiers, so if the match is T6-8, at least X amount of ships in a team need to be T6, thus basically enforcing the same? Because by limiting the number of top tier ships, that implies that for example single tier matches as happen not too infrequently at T10 now, are kind of impossible, as after X ships of that tier, MM has to search for other tiers. And single tier battles aren't an issue, noone has any tier disadvantage after all.
  22. HaachamaShipping

ST - new German commander and test ships.

This at least would imply they put in effort into designing a ship. This is just ctrl+c ctrl+v the ship model and change a few stats, name and flag, then put into a bundle with special Lunar camo and get a few bucks...
  23. HaachamaShipping

3-5-7 from wot is coming to wows

Full tank build Conqueror with 3 fires loses 30% of its hp over the course of 36 seconds. This is the best case scenario for the Mogamis in terms of additional damage and on disengaging can be cut off with damecon. Best case scenario for Conqueror is deleting one Mogami in 5 seconds, regardless of what that Mogami built into, because overmatch and 12 shells. And no consumable fixes that. Yes, you are not helpless, but it's also not like the performance difference and class difference here does not exist and as if this was a realistic scenario, given that the match still would be 12 vs 12, so that Conqueror has some other ships that do stuff, while three Mogamis farm damage off it (that potentially is the lowest impact possible, because Conqueror can heal 100% fire damage and 75% pen damage back if it survives). More on point, a Gearing running into a radar Edin with no support has a hard time to win that 1v1. It's not like the Edin thus is useless. It just has to play smarter.
  24. HaachamaShipping

3-5-7 from wot is coming to wows

Conkek, if it has a brain and isn't completely alone. Because yes, you can spam a buttload of HE at it, but it has to just get lucky with AP once and you are a double Mogami div already. Add to that the insane heal, while Mogami cannot recover anything. Only when fighting 3v1 (which is not usual battle conditions), you'd win with 3 Mogamis everytime due to capping and torps.
  25. HaachamaShipping

The hidden potential of Semi Armor Piercing(SAP)

Too bad then that most ships with HE have a better dpm to farm superstructure and while fire damage is 100% repairable, it still is more lethal than the joke you get from full pens on saturated superstructure, where you'd be better off had it been an overpen. Also, SAP still can potentially bounce off angled superstructure, as 203 mm is no auto-overmatch on 19 mm plating, so if you hit something that is angled enough, you may just get nothing.
