Will there be 30% OFF Personal celebratory annual coupon this year as well (last year it was on 17.09.2020.) ?
invicta2012 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
The answer is Yes, btw: -
There is... apparently the initial proposal had the same Mk XXVI turrets as Tiger and Minotaur. I think in-game experience with Tiger will show that her four guns and no-torp loadout is not ideal, so something with a bit more dakka might well be needed.

It's Narai week, so at the moment I've got village-bunting-edition Eendracht and Frankie. C. to grind through (all the flags, all the time). The Snowflakes/Container Fields/whatevs will be done as a diversion from that and as a contribution to the DZP grind (39,000,000 potential damage, indeed).

Edgy! (I'm glad they left that one out, tbh. Still a bit near the knuckle).

South American Navy flags but nowhere to place them

There are also lots of cool DD prospects from the Pan-American nations. Gun boats were still very viable in that theatre during the 50s as guided missiles were still very expensive, so they bought things like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almirante-class_destroyer -
That's what everyone said last year. Turns out there weren't many people with a Makarov. (My money is on Poltava as the star of the Chrismas Boxes this year, btw.)
-
... and check what you have to have in your port before you'll have *any* chance of getting them.

I thought she *was* DZP? Edit: Nope. DZP was Aguirre. (Cool name, though. Klaus Kinski skipper?).

The Chilean options for the 1930s were like the Spanish ones of the time - a kind of Hawkins/Emerald hybrid. Definitely Tier V material. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almirante_Cervera-class_cruiser
-
Doubt it. Chile was in the market for new cruisers in the 1930s and there was competition between Vickers and Ansaldo, so I would expect something a bit more modern.
-
There are lots of British designs that were offered to South American navies - La Argentina is one - and I would be amazed if these don't turn up in this line. There are versions of Hawkins, York, the Counties/Canarias, Fiji, Belfast, Neptune - and some post war modern designs like this, offered to Venezuela in the 50s (quoted from Norman Friedman's British Cruisers).

Ah. Do the captains not disappear at the end of the rental period? I need to check my reserve, I thought it was unexpectedly full...

Lovely camo on that ship!

The eleven most terrifying words in the world.

Sounds like Cryptic Studios and their infamous "spaghetti code". Not only could they not change things without breaking completely unrelated things, in the end they had to shut down entire parts of the game world because no-one knew how it worked any more, and they couldn't update it when the rest of the game was patched. WG are getting themselves into the same mess of late. Submarine development has broken the maps (under sea terrain) so that neither the autopilot or collision avoidance system can be relied on (we won't mention CV autopilot). They've broken the bot aiming systems in Ops and Co-op, as half the time they can't hit anything, and their movement patterns have become bizarre. They've broken torpedoes, fixed them and broken them again, differently. Submarines are a buggy mess to play and to play against - I just had a jolly little game in Bismarck where I got hit by homing torpedoes without being pinged (??) and have played numerous games in subs where torpedoes have " lost their target " despite having two pings on the target throughout their run. They've designed an entire event (Missouri) around a ship which is bugged, and has a turret firing shells with completely different properties to the other two. Regardless of what you think of WG's communication skills and monetisation strategies, the actual game itself is in the worst state it's been in for years. I played this game in Beta and it was a lot more robust than it currently is. -
How many 21-Pts Captains do you have?
invicta2012 replied to Prophecy82's topic in General Discussion
It's greater. 1.7 million for Levels 1 - 19, 2.2 million for levels 19 - 21. -
I got the Mikky in the Premium Tier V container. It has *very* good guns but a tinplate hull. IIRC there are more Russian cruisers in the game than any other type of ship, so you are more likely to get one of those than anything else from a random drop. Great if you like them, but I can't say I do. Much too squishy.

Wargaming will rejoice at the CC exodus...Here is why

After the uprising of the 17th of June The Secretary of the Writers' Union Had leaflets distributed on Stalin Street Stating that the people Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could only win it back With redoubled effort. Wouldn't it be simpler for the government To dissolve the people And elect another? (berthold brecht) -

Z-44, I think. Doesn't excel at anything, really, and fast torpedo reload doesn't make up for that. -
PSA. Its official. The torpedo bug hasn't been fixed.

Well, just sayin' and all that. -

invicta2012 replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
Thank you @YabbaCoe. You should probably pass along the fact that submarines are affected by this bug as well as surface ships, because that has a major impact on any data you'll be getting from their in-game testing. -
[Reddit - Important Info] Workaround for newly introduced torpedo bug (after WG attempted fix for old bug)...
invicta2012 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I *think* that works. Although it doesn't work very well with submarines, especially when they are under water. I've been wondering why my torpedoes keep going off at an angle which was not at all where I wanted - I thought it was my lack of ability to play the darn things - but they are completely bugged. -
Can't say I take any notice of this type of event, tbh.

Cheers for documenting this workaround. Of *course* the whole issue should have been fixed *properly* but you can avoid the drama by zooming your cursor in before firing. -
Eendracht's AP is very disappointing. I've had broadside cruisers 7k away and not been able to citadel them. Airstrikes are hard to land and only do about 5K damage + a fire if you're lucky. Her HE works nicely, so best to concentrate on that. Overall this makes her a hard ship to love - Tier VII is the dakka CL tier, with things like Fiji, Helena, Shchors, Atlanta, Lazo and Abruzzi offering a lot more. What she lacks is range, really - her main battery should be firing out to 15-16k like the Italian/French CLs, that would give her some more of the harrassing/firestarter quality that Celebes and De Ruyter have. Looks as if Jingles was right about WG panicking about the power of airstrikes and nerfing the ships too hard.
-
Are they saluting guns, though? WG doesn't count those.
