    New Country Trees

We need more maps, more modes and more to do with the ships we have. But new ship lines (sans gimmicks) are welcome.

    Most Iconic Ship of WOWS

    Thunderer. Why, WG, why?

Europe. The Black Sea is part of the European theatre. Don't imagine Turkey having a fleet elsewhere.

Albemarle - I need help with this PoS

Make sure you take the Captain skill for another heal. You'll need it.

    New Country Trees

We've been through various iterations of a "Mediterranean" / Southern European DD line. It's perfectly possible without the Spanish. Ditto a Northern European line without the Swedes.
  7. Gaede is OK, but I preferred it when she had the smaller calibre guns. Icarus has the best torpedo broadside of any Tier VI DD. Make use of it. If you'll trade some of that for stealth and more comfortable torp range, take Gallant. Otherwise... Aigle, Podvoisky, Nicholas, Hill, Monaghan, Leone, Anshan. All cheap as chips and fun to play.

    New Ships Announced

She is probably based on the various Vickers and Armstrong BB designs offered to Brazil in the early 1910s - very reminiscent of the QE and Revenge classes. Various sources also mention that the US tried to buy the Almirante Latorre class BB from the Chileans post-Pearl Harbor to keep up Battleship numbers and it looks rather like WG have taken these ships, added a California / Minas Gerais / Queen Elizabeth type modernisation programme to the mix and then decided it would be a laugh if the ship kept some pre-dreadnought super heavy secondaries (also descended from those Vickers/Armstrong designs, although they came at the price of "Q" main battery turret.). It's quite bonkers, but I applaud the bravery of whoever came up with it.

    New Ships Announced

Difficult to say. Looks like an improved Soldati to me - perhaps something Ansaldo offered the Soviets? We know WG has lots of info on Italian export designs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_destroyer_Ascari#/media/File:Destroyer_Ascari.jpg

    Question about waves and currents

There is a fair bit of swell running on some of these maps, though - it looks pretty calm seen against the scale of a BB but on a DD it can be quite rough, particularly if you have to get beam on to the direction of the waves. I guess it shows how artificial the behaviour of smaller ships is in this game - zooming around at 40 knots when they wouldn't be able to get anywhere near that on anything other than the flattest and calmest of days.

    New Ships Announced

WG seems to like rearming French DDs. FR25 seems fictional, though. FR22 and 23 were Panthere and Tigre (Chacal class, same as Jaguar) and FR 21 and 24 were Lion and Valmy (Guepard class), but there's no FR25 which actually served (as far as I can see). Still, Guepard's a fun ship, variations might be worthwhile.

    New Ships Announced

No info on pen or reload yet, but that calibre of gun is going to pen more than 32mm of armour. Her problem is going to be speed - 25knots only - and I suspect her secondaries may be only an occasional amusement. But they're going to be *hilarious* when they do hit. You can get them out to a range of 10.8km, too, which could be quite fun.

    New Ships Announced

True, but it's a 40 knot plus ship with SAP... that will be quite scary. Atlantico looks *nuts*, btw. Ten 15 inch guns firing improved RN AP. And those secondaries are 9.2 inch guns. She's like some post-modern version of a pre-Dreadnought. Sounds great fun.

    Bearn imminent?

It's not. I just dumpstered the Serov because I wasn't enjoying playing that compared to the other Tier VI CVS and Bearn doesn't look like much of an improvement. Ah well.

    Bearn imminent?

Skip bombers. Urgh. Not fun. Can't say I'll be buying this one.

Satan crate drop rates and ship list

OK, so that means most people are going to get Agincourt, Leone, Jurua and Mysore.

Selfish play in Narai makes it not worth playing

Thanks for the info, but there's a difference between Division games and Random ones. And if you do want to play the Atlanta, you can do team useful things in it too - using the radar to dispose of the DD/Cruiser protecting the carrier, for example - and still score well.

Kurfurst - special ship - Gun Calibre

Gilding the lily with IFHE. 32mm pen on secondaries will pen pretty much all of an RN or French BB, bow and stern of a US BB, and most traditional cruisers will melt when faced with those kinds of secondaries. You do have to know what they won't pen, though, as getting it wrong can be a bit embarrassing (and book a quick return to port).

What new tech tree lines would you like to see in 2022?

Bearn was in service, Joffre was laid down, Painleve was the second in the Joffre Class and ordered but not laid down, and Arromanches was an ex-RN Colossus class which served in the late 40s. You could also add La Fayette (ex USN Independence Class) and Dixmude (ex-RN Archer Class) to the list. It's a wholly real line of ships - not napkin designs, not speculative offers, but actual ordered designs and ships which served in the MN. And it could be made interesting with the plane loadout - divebombers/level bombers and "heavy" torpedo planes, not many torps but hard hitting.

Selfish play in Narai makes it not worth playing

They can have their uses - smoke, hydro, long range torps, dakka. Bring one and you have to sink the Missouri, though. Indeed, but the OP is complaining about people who don't deal with the Dallas, Campbeltown or Phoenix and who ignore those ships and rush for the spawn points. You get these types in all the Ops and while I appreciate playing Farmer Barleymow is a decent tactic for reward harvesting it can be a bit frustrating for others who've saved the team's stars only to see someone else stat padding.

What new tech tree lines would you like to see in 2022?

Bearn, Joffre, Arromanches, Painleve, Clemenceau. You'd have to limit the Tier X to non-jets only but the Alize would be a fun plane to fly - and really all I'm interested in with CVs is the planes. Bearn is a disappointment because it's got rebadged Vindicators - apparently authentic, but still not much fun - and I'd like to have some interesting planes like Dewoitines D.520s, Loire 401s (a sort of Stuka type DB) and the CAO 600/D750 (twin engine heavy torpedo bombers).
  22. This is all a bit 2017, mate. No point explaining old fashioned pre-CV rework roles to people. Try a more modern explanation: 1 - If you're a DD, your role is to spot. Or.... to be spotted by the CV and destroyed by rocket planes. Or Skip Bombers. Or whatever it is WG is peddling these days. Otherwise you can be spotted by Radar cruisers and deep fried in concentrated HE spam. Fun Fun fun! 2 - A cruiser player? Welcome. Did you bring radar? Why not? Your job is to hide behind an island and radar DDs. Otherwise the cruiser's role is to get spotted early doors taking an ill-advised pot shot at a BB and lose 90% of your health to an overmatching BB shell. Enjoy! 3 - A Battleship? Can you overmatch things? Why not? Oh, you're a secondary ship? You used to play DDs and charged into caps and died and you think that will be more successful with a big HP pool and armour belt? Ah, you poor innocent lamb chop. 4 - Broadside is best side. Unless you're in a French or Russian BB, in which case going slowly backwards and forwards like a kid playing with a VHS machine is the way to go. 5 - Smoke screens are great - because if you can't see them, they can't hit you. 6 - Lemming Trains: these are great for avoiding personal responsibility. No-one is to blame if everyone is to blame. 7 - Who should tank? Someone *else* should tank. 8- Are you sure you wouldn't like to play a Submarine instead?

It turns out that many of the WoWs playerbase are frightened of the number "79".
